I don’t think I want to do this anymore. It was fun and exciting and new. I forgot that my husband is my only forever. I forgot that not all humans are as genuine as him. The Disparity of Humiliation

Humiliation is a statement about how willing I am to debase myself for him. It’s about the contrast with who I otherwise am. The part I didn’t prepare for…

We discussed an open relationship for years, prepared each other, prepared our relationship, ensured we were on the same page, enacted we had boundaries and communication and were in a good place. We discussed potential scenarios and how we would like to handle them. We were so excited for the fun and the adventure. I was excited to try new things and meet new people.

…

But we didn’t prepare for the end. For the break up that we weren’t ready for. Exploring new relationships means ending new relationships. They say you can’t have a rainbow without a little rain, but I hadn’t prepared for this particular rain. I’m not sure there really is a way to prepare for it though. Despite always knowing, our time would be limited, it didn’t make the ending any easier. Despite having my love by my side, it doesn’t make losing this piece any less painful. It’s an odd feeling, knowing this would come yet feeling so unprepared for it.

I thank you for our experiences and the time you blessed us with. I’m sorry, we couldn’t be all that you needed. I can’t wait to watch you find your happiness. I will always love you in a way and you will always be special to me.
