@politicalkitty
Okay, I know I said to stab me if I kept looking at the news, but-
this bitch baby
The last time I went to a pride parade was 2018. It was in Omaha and one of the corporate sponsors was Wells Fargo, just a year after contributing funds to construct the Dakota Access Pipeline. That's why I stopped going to pride parades.
Now, being in the DMV, I thought "Maybe it's different here, and it's been years..." It's not different. AMAZON is one of the corporate sponsors of Capital Pride. So, I still don't go to pride parades. Pride month has become such a hollow event. Eaten by capitalism, just like everything else in the US.
Love wins? Not until intersex people are treated with respect, dignity, and bodily autonomy πππ
During a recent televised debate, Rep. Jasmine Crockett took Mike Huckabee down over his interpretation of Christian morality.
Jasmine Crockett:
βGovernor Huckabee, what does Jesus say in Matthew 25 about how weβll be judged?β
Mike Huckabee:
He hesitated, mumbling something about sheep and goats.
Crockett: βThatβs right. The final judgment. Would you like me to quote it?β
Before Huckabee could respond, she read directly from her phone:
βI was hungry and you gave me food.
I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink.
I was a stranger and you welcomed me.
I was sick and you looked after me.
I was in prison and you came to visit me.β
Crockett continued:
βJesus doesnβt mention abortion.
He doesnβt mention same-sex marriage.
He doesnβt bring up tax rates or culture war issues.
The only criteria Jesus gives for heaven or hell are how we treat the poor, the sick, the immigrant, the prisoner.β
She looked Huckabee in the eye:
βSo, Governor, if you oppose every single one of those policies, what does that say about your understanding of Christian morality?β
Huckabee tried to respond, but Crockett pressed on:
Matthew 19:21 β βSell all your possessions and give to the poor.β
Luke 4:18 β βProclaim good news to the poor, freedom for the prisoners.β
Matthew 8 β Jesus heals a man with leprosy, touching someone society called unclean.
βYou say Iβm not a real Christian because I support feeding programs for kids, universal health care, and immigration reform. But Jesus said those are the exact things that determine salvation.β
Then came the knockout:
βJesus never said, βI was a wealthy corporation and you gave me tax breaks.β
He never said, βI was a gun manufacturer and you protected my profits.β
He never said, βI was a pharmaceutical company and you let me charge whatever I wanted.ββ
Crockett concluded: βYour version of faith asks whether someone deserves help before offering it. But Jesus never said, βI was hungry and you checked if I had a job first.ββ
She quoted Isaiah 58, Proverbs 31, and Micah 6:8, then addressed Huckabeeβs final attempt to challenge her.
Huckabee: βBut you still support abortion and same-sex marriage. Youβre picking and choosing.β
Crockett: βThe word abortion appears zero times in the Bible. Same-sex marriage, also zero. But caring for the poor? Dozens of times. Welcoming immigrants? Direct commands. Healing the sick? Over and over again. So if someoneβs cherry-picking, Governor, it isnβt me.β
She closed with this: βYouβve spent your whole career telling Christians they have to choose between their politics and their faith. But maybe the real question is this: How can someone claim to follow Jesus while opposing everything Jesus said?β
Are we living in the world Jesus died for?
Someone did a good job, it's been hung everywhere near the White House. I love it. That's activism.ππ§¨π«Ά

For pride month I think every LGBTQIA2S+ person should get a sack of rocks that they can throw at people throughout the month, no repercussions
A corrupt cop, but in the sense that they don't arrest people for stealing food and medicine, and disobey orders when told to shoot minorities
