WHAT:  This year has been really (f*cking) hard. So put on your spa clothes, grab a drink, and let us help you unwind with an hour of musical comedy, special guests, and reflections from community organizers and activists. Come exfoliate 2020 while we raise a toast to all the work we’ve done and will continue to do. The sauna is hot and the chat is open. Let’s take care of each other y’all.

Tickets are pay-what-you-can, from free to a-gagillion dollars! All proceeds will be split among the community and activism organizations joining us for the evening. Your ticket price will support their incredible ongoing work! (tix are not tax-deductible)

Political Subversities returns for a limited run at the People’s Improv Theater eviscerating politics and pop culture with a new night of musical-sketch comedy: Political Subversities: Vote Or Whatever! starting October 14th. This newest edition will premiere a full show of brand new material and fan favorites, and will feature three new writer/performers.

Friday 10/14 at 8:30pm Friday 10/21 at 8pm Friday 10/28 at 8pm Friday 11/4 at 8pm

Tickets are $15 and can be obtained at http://thepit-nyc.com/, or in person at the door. The show is approximately 50 minutes with no intermission.

Announcing the addition of new cast members: Jason Veasey (The Lion King, Broadway Bounty Hunter), Andrew Farmer (The Elementary Spacetime Show, Clown Bar) and Chanel Carroll (How To Tell You're A Douchebag); and music director Karl Saint Lucy (Fucking Identical Twins)

Initially conceived by Tony Nominee Elizabeth Swados and currently written and performed by a cast as talented as they are diverse, Political Subversities is a dark and hilarious cabaret that aims to break your expectations as well as your funny bone with a breathless barrage of songs, sketches, characters and Broadway-worthy musical numbers.

POLITICAL SUBVERSITIES is created and performed by a cast of young, vibrant writers and performers including Todd Dakotah Briscoe (Author of How May We Hate You?), Jabari Brisport (These! Paper! Bullets!), Chanel Carroll (How To Tell You're A Douchebag), Jenna Dioguardi (The Wolves), nicHi douglas (Dance Cartel, The Late Late Show w/ James Corden), Andrew Farmer (The Elementary Spacetime Show, Clown Bar), Stephanie Hsu (SpongeBob The Musical), Preston Martin (Pirate La Dee Da at Atlantic Theater Company), Cyndi Perczek, Emma Tattenbaum-Fine (writer for “Almost Genius” on truTV), Jason Veasey (The Lion King, Broadway Bounty Hunter). Music Direction by Ian Axness (Clown Bar, A Ride on the Irish Cream) and Karl Saint Lucy (Fucking Identical Twins).

The show also features original songs and writing by Shaina Taub (Public Work's Twelfth Night, Old Hats), Andrew R. Butler (Finn the Fearless, BLESSING), and Matthew Robert Gehring (UCBT Maude Night, Netflix's The Characters, Louie).
