People love to pretend all Cubans who left for the US were bourgeois white landowners but the racial and economic character of Cuban emigrants has not been white and wealthy since the Special Period, it has been black and poor (and there is somewhat of a rift in the Miami Cuban community because of that). Does this make the new black and poor Cuban migrants innately immune to reactionary thought? No, not at all but it's a kind of "leftslop" approach to human migration patterns that I can't really abide by since it's not based in research but in generalised preconceived notions of history as told by twitter/reddit/tumblr etc.
