People misinterpret the locker room scene, 'Sweet Exit', between Robert and Invisigal in Dispatch, which comes down to the alleged "SA". I think a lot of this misinterpreting has to do with people who obviously haven't played the game, watched a gameplay of maybe their favorite YouTuber who romanced invisigal but the viewer didn't like her, they didn't look at the big and small details and the meaning behind the scene, they self insert themselves with Robert, and of course, has zero media literacy (the biggest of them all honestly...)
I've been keeping this rant/analysis/thought whatever the fuck it is in my notes for some time. Wasn't so sure about posting it but fuck it idgaf, people irritate with this shit and I need to get it off my chest.
Let's just get this straight; You do not get the locker room kiss unless you have been actively trying with invisigal. The devs made it difficult to get that scene with her if you romanced Blazer or haven't been accepting invisigals advances and haven't been actively flirting with her. If you DID choose her romance path and have also been actively flirting with her, that scene is obviously easy to obtain.
One thing that I like about their path is the Slow Burn. You have to make Robert work hard for her. Not only that, work hard for her redemption as a hero. You have to work hard for her in order to get the kiss aswell. Flirt, go on the date, accept her advances, basically giving her those "im into you" hints.
In any case scenario in a game that has romance and a planned out kiss scene, you will obviously get a kiss scene if you romance that specific character.
Moving onto one part of the locker room scene that people misinterpreted, when invisigal showed her augment. Really stupid, people see that moment as something sexual because her breast are showing and people are using that to their advantage to make this entire scene look horrible. I don't know how many time people have to say this, but there is nothing SEXUAL about breasts. Nothing sexual or physical was happening at that moment. Invisigal wasn't using her lewd jokes at all (To add onto that, she always uses her lewd jokes to hide vulnerability and to show a tough girl facade. Her using those jokes builds her walls even higher). She was showing Robert something she regretted. She showed him her most vulnerable form. That's a huge step for Invisigal.
Last part; The kiss
Consent doesn't always have to be given at the beginning of something and consent doesn't always have to be verbal. Media does NOT show that fact of Consent. Media has always seen consent as something verbal and something you say at the beginning of everything. Consent can be given and said in so many different ways. Consent can be said through body language, words, and it also can be implied. You can back OUT of something and change you mind while it is happening.
She backs out of the kiss to look at Robert, straight in the eyes with a serious look. This is her saying, but without words, "Is this okay/alright". Robert isn't stopping her. He's letting it happening. Choosing the decision to lean out mid kiss is Robert changing his mind and also a form of Consent that invisigal respects and lets it happen. She will stop kissing it and ask zero questions about it.
People claim that Robert is pushing invisigal back and she's refusing. But if people would pay attention...you would take note that her augment is RIGHT where is hand is placed. Around that area. It's different to show somebody something and for them to touch it, especially when it's something on your body. She moved Roberts hand away because she doesn't want to be touched there, obviously because of her augment. That's augment is something she's insecure about. She feels guilt when it comes to the augment. Letting Robert see it is one thing, but it's another thing for him to touch it or glide his hand past it. That's also another form of Consent but not said verbally. Consent can be given in so many ways. To add onto this, in the 5th and 6th photo, if you lean in, Robert does it once again, glides his hand over her augment and keeps his hand around it, and she completely disappears.
This scene shows their yearning for each other and this kiss is like them saying "I don't know if we're going to see each other again, so let's have this first and last kiss" and I fucking love it. It's emotional, its in character, it's everything.
My opinion
I hate how people turned this emotional and beautiful scene into something that it's not. It's a vulnerable moment for both of them, not just Invisigal. It brought some level of trust to them. The concept of a surprise kiss between two characters who have been actively flirting with each other, who have this crazy tension between each other, and who obviously have feelings for each other especially through the romance path with Invisigal suddenly being seen as SA is ridiculous. I also think some of this goes all the way to the double standards and misogyny that people have towards invisigal but that's for a whole other post...
summary: Robert isn't meek about his scars in canon. But what if he was?

He has her against the wall, arms pinned above her head.
He has her on the couch, kneeling at the altar of her hips.
He has her from behind, hands wrapped around her body, lips on her neck.
She reaches for his shirt. Fingers creeping under to touch his skin. To feel the heat of his body against her own.
Every time he stops her. Pinning her hands down, giving her a look with one eyebrow raised. Every time she huffs. Every time he distracts her once again.
He wonders if he resents her for it, for never fully giving himself to her. But he can't. He can't bear to show himself to her, in all of his nasty, fucked up glory. Burns and stretched out scars. Marks from dissolved stitches and plucked staples. He's a creature of his own creation. He is Frankenstein, he is the monster.
He scrubs roughly at his skin, distracting himself with pain once again. The soap runs down his face before he pushes it back, letting the water wash over him.
He finishes, steps out with a towel wrapped around his waist.
"Fucking idiot, fucking fireball piece of shit."
"Visi?"
"Flambae asked me to get his—fuck! But the goddamn lock won't work." She turns around. "Can you help—"
Suddenly she's looking. Suddenly he's aware.
Fuck.
He folds his arms, trying to cover the slim expanse of his torso. "Stop staring."
"Not happening."
A beat.
"Visi, seriously."
He stalks toward the locker, grabbing the lock. "What's the combination?"
"I don't know," she says quietly.
He can feel her eyes burning his skin. The bullet wound in his left shoulder, it tingles under her scrutiny.
Then she touches him. A tentative, delicate finger on his arm. He flinches back. Standing up straight, he steps away from her.
She looks. Up and down, side to side. He watches her eyes flash and flicker all over his body. The body he's hid from her for months. The body he's hid from every partner he's ever had.
Because scars aren't pretty. And neither are their stories.
"Is this why you hide from me?" She asks. Bluntly.
"I don't—"
"Save me the bullshit, Robert. You've never taken your clothes off when we're intimate. I fucking hate that word, wow. But you know what I mean. You haven't fucked me yet. Is this why?"
He laughs. There's no humor in it.
"Are you asking why I didn't want you to see this?" He gestures. "The grotesque fucking mistake that is my body. Me."
She steps forward. "Robert."
"Don't pity me—"
"I don't."
They share a long look.
Her gaze shifts down again.
"You're not a mistake."
"Save it."
"Hey Mr. Pep Talk, dish it but can't take it?" She bites.
He's quiet.
She steps closer, something in him flinches. He watches her brows furrow, watches concern etch her beautiful face. He hates it.
Still, she pushes on and closes the gap between them. He can feel his heart pounding against his ribs, indenting into the bone. His eyes are hot on her—unblinking.
Careful hazelnut eyes trace his body. A hand lifts between them, those eyes flicker up. He doesn't stop her this time.
Soft, sweet skin meets his. Delicate fingers run down the long, jagged scar that bisects his body. From the base of his throat to the top of his navel—the one that nearly ended him.
Then her fingers wrap around his side, gently dancing along the huge burn scar that maps his ribs.
"You're going to hate me for saying it," she starts. "But these are hot."
Tension slips from his shoulders. He's never felt that sort of release.
"That's fucked up," he quips.
"Yeah." A small laugh. She looks at him. "So am I."
Her hand moves to his chest where her warm palm pressed against his heart.
"But unfair though, you hiding these from me."
He furrows his brows.
"You've seen mine."
"I haven't—"
"Splayed out naked on your couch. Every inch of me."
"I never noticed."
She moves back slightly, taking her top with her. He looks at her. Under her breasts is—
"This is a scar as much as this is."
Her fingers touch the augment beneath her breasts. Her fingers touch the stab wound on his other shoulder.
"This one." She takes his hand and leads his fingers to trace the long white scar on her clavicle.
Unbuttoning her jeans, she shoves them down her legs.
"You've been up close and personal with my cunt—"
"Christ, Visi."
"—so surely you've seen these." She places her foot on the locker room bench next to them. He looks down.
Immediately, he recognizes what they are and his hand reaches for it. Cigarette burns, several in a spiral.
"Who did—"
"Doesn't matter." She steps into him and reaches around his neck, sliding her fingers into his still-wet hair. "Don't hide from me, Robert. You know I'm fucked up in more ways than one. And you still come back. Why can't I know you are too?"
"It's not just about being fucked up. It's…failure. It's a disgusting reminder of everything."
She shrugs. "Yeah. I'm stuck with a hunk of metal in my body for the rest of my life. You're stuck with this."
"Do you let it define you?" He asks quietly.
"Yeah sometimes. Until you look at me the way you do."
"The way I do?"
"Like I'm worth saving."
His hand falls upon her cheek. She nuzzles into it.
"You are."
"So are you."
"That's not your job, Visi."
"It's not yours either. But you took it on. Let me take it too."
His lips twitch. "Stubborn."
"Always. And like I said, I find these scars very, very fucking hot."
He chuckles. "Yeah?"
"Don't yeah, me, Robertson." He watches the red tinge her cheeks. She pushes his chest lightly. He pulls her back in. "You know what you have to do now that I've seen these?"
He has an inkling.
"Fuck you?"
"Vulgar."
He laughs, genuinely.
"I'm impatient, Robert."
"Haven't heard any complaints yet, pillow princess."
She gapes. "I am not—"
He pulls her in by the waist, forcing their bodies together until there's not an atom of space between them. Something akin to a whimper escapes her. He leans down to her ear.
"You are. Submissive pillow princess."
"You like it," she challenges.
"I do."
"Robert!"
They both look toward the locker room entrance. He sighs.
She pushes away from him, gathering her clothes. As she shimmies back into her jeans, she watches him.
"Fuck me then. Mine. Tonight."
"Yours?"
"Roommates gone. And I have a bed. With a frame."
"Fuck me," he says, feigning a gasp.
She pulls her shirt on. "That's my line." She smirks, devilishly. "Tonight, Robertson."
I don’t think Robert Robertson is a ‘hit it and quit it’ kinda guy. He can’t have a one night stand. (Mostly because he barely has a bed—it’s an air mattress.)
I think Robert puts too much of himself into sex. He feels too deeply, even when he doesn’t want to. When he feels anything for someone, even simply lust, he cannot separate himself from it. He’ll think too hard. Too long. Hate himself all over again.
He can only give all of himself. And not everyone is deserving of that. Or can handle it for just one night.
