Ok, but hear me out on this one.

The vampire fears for the end of his existence itself. Having the Reaper so close and looking at his every move, he doesn't know if that meal would be his last... Not because the reaper will kill him but the constant sense of danger in his sorroundings.

For The Reaper knows his end but is willing to make an agreement with him and choose the ones that are meant to be judged for their evil doings.

OOO YES THIS IS GREAT!!

The Reaper gets his souls of the damned, and the Vampire gets to feed on those he knows are irredeemable. He still fears the Reaper however, his blood red eye that observes him like a wild animal. He could kill the Vampire, end his immortal suffering with a swing of his scythe, like squashing a fly.

And yet he doesn’t. He keeps him alive, fed, aware. Is this out of genuine care, or does he simply not wish to loose his newest plaything? That is what the Vampire fears the most.

I like to think that the reaper has a liking for making creatures do what he pleases. But took a special liking to the vampire 😏
