Really though I wish people would realize that for many polyamorous people it's part of our orientation? It's not a lifestyle/a choice any more than being wlw/mlm is. Even if a poylamorous person is single at the time or in a monoamorous relationship it doesn't make them any less polyamorous.

Just get the idea that polyamorous is a lifestyle (or isn't lgbtq+ adjacent considering it's still illegal to have polyam marriages and most allocishet people don't practice proper polyamory) out of your head.

Start reacting to the "I wouldn't date a polyam person" crowd the same as you do "I wouldn't date a bi person" one because they come from the same place of bigotry.

To be on a "forgotten about queer identity" agenda but headcanon characters as polyamorous I beg of you

Polyamory is both an action and an identity- and it's an identity that if not inherently part of the queer community, most polyam folks are also queer, and the communities have hell of fucking lot in common.

Give polyamorous headcanons a thought not just because you think it's sexy or it benefits your ship, but because polyam folks deserve to see ourselves in fiction and if we can't change popular media then we can fucking change fandom.

Even if you don't headcanon a character as polyamorous then make an effort to uplift their content. You have no idea what it means to people
