I’m always an observer on this fandom for long long time. Today I’ve decided to express myself after reading the fanfiction of Musingsofme on AO3. Lol.

I like Tsukuyo character so much. I personally think that this is probably the best character development of Sorachi. This character is deep and complex.

Well she is rebel. And the best way to show how rebel she is in the place that is full of sex like Yoshiwara is to be virgin. The whole plot about Hosen arc is also to show how brave and rebel she is.

The most interesting story to me is the whole thing about Jiraia. Actually Tsukuyo was very lonely. She was sold to Yoshiwara when she was young, then rebelled so strongly, ending up being trained to be a special force of Yoshiwara. This was where she met Jiraia.

Tsukuyo knew no love. Even if the relationship between her and Jiraia was so abusive, she embraced it anyway because this was the only kind of care and love she experienced. And with all of the responsibilities and expectations she was put on, in the end she removed the fun out of her life.

Then one day she met Gintoki who actually gave her new perspective in life. The thing is that this guy is the first one in her life that said to her “Hey! You know what? You don’t deserve this shit at all. You deserve something better. Life doesn’t have to be pure and clean. It can be dirty, but beautiful at the same time”.

So for Tsukuyo, she respects Gintoki because he has freedom that she hasn’t. She would like to be like him and she knows that she can’t.

The time has gone by the respect somehow turned into something more than that. The more she knows him, the more she falls for him slowly.

For Gintoki’s side, I know Sorachi didn’t confirm but he gave many clues. The well-played arc to me is love potion. There are many layers in this arc.

Well let’s have a look how the incense works. So at the beginning Sorachi has started introduce it by Hinowa. What she understands is that… ok! You will fall for the first one you lay your eyes on after you smelled it. This is just what people ‘believe’ how it works. But right after this, Sorachi also showed how the incense actually works.

What happened to Kagura and Shipachi is the first event to proof Hinowa wrong. Then Sorachi also tried to confirm with what happened to Kyuubei, Otae and Kondo. The incense made them realize their true feelings and be honest.

Now Hinowa is completely wrong.

Same thing as Tsukuyo. First she saw his dick, but actually she likes him as a person.

These are what happened to many characters who smelled the incense. What about Gintoki? Well actually for me the same thing happened to him.

Many might have said he smelled it too much that he got crazy. Well the fight between the ideology he believes (the same issue as Tsukuyo – he doesn’t want to rely on anyone or everyone is equal) and the effect of the incense kept happening inside him so strongly that it just showed up like he’s gone crazy. For Gintoki, he said something so cheesy at the same time being so serious, then said something crazy again like he’s drunk. It’s up and down like he’s been fighting inside with the drug so hard. (Also he always came back to her.)

He talked about his believe that everyone is equal again. And then…being so damn cheesy and serious again.

They stick together again. He even said “Sorry! I don’t know why I did that.”

In the end, he spent time with her without Shinpachi or Kagura.

Also he’s here in Yoshiwara alone again even if it’s so far from where he lives. And why on earth he was on the rooftop that night. Was he looking for her knowing that she’s working?

And actually this is not the first time he’s here alone.

He’s in Yoshiwara alone again and didn’t expect to work. Literally just came to see her them.

In the red spider arc, he’s not here alone. But it’s clear that he didn’t come here for work.

And yep! Gin-san likes looser women.

So saying that Gintoki NEVER likes Tsukuyo is kinda wrong to me.

There is also the whole thing about their backgrounds. Like Gintoki who were the one who executed Shouyou, Tsukuyo also executed Jiraia to save Gintoki. And he was very shocked.

Now they have very similar path.

For Tsukuyo like she said at the end of love potion, Gintoki is everyone’s man. She accepts that she loves him but she doesn’t believe that she deserves him. Same shit as Gintoki, he believes he deserves to be alone. He is haunted by his sins in the past. He’s a no-good man.

During the fight with Jiraia, Gintoki kept talking about how coward Jiraia is and comparing himself to Jiraia.

“Tsukuyo’s already stronger than you. Cowards should settle for fighting cowards. And if you need an opponent, I am more than enough!”

This is somehow he talks to himself as he compared himself to Jiraia. He is a pitiful creature who will never reach the sky.

Well they are both tsundere. Both of them believe that they don’t deserve each other. But they do!

Sorachi said sorry about the fact that Gintoki character was barely developed. To me, he did try with Tsukuyo and the events in Yoshiwara. What he said to Jiraia or Tsukuyo is the thing that reflects himself.

Well I like this ship so much. I’ve never ever thought that I still have fanfiction to follow after it ended, but the truth is that I have. Lol

About the ruling of incense in Love Potion Arc - I agree with this. People usually just see it as something bad about Gintoki well, he is a walking pervert there and good thing Tsu was there for him lol. This is the arc that Sorachi gave for this ship IMO. A lot of good panels for them, and a way to throw all those cheesy lines.

Also there is pool episode where it showed that she was his type lol. And she loves him, that's canon and it is disrespectful for others to ignore it. Love is part of Tsukuyo's development <3.

True. It all begins because I have to explain to my boyfriend who knows nothing about Gintama why do I keep reading this couple fanfictions. It's been years. And the f* our conversation can be a post. lol

There are many clues for real but I can't post only 10 pics on one post. OMG! Love choriss arc is also a thing. How Gintoki ended up creat a tsudere charater who has pure soul inside. She's really his type. He's actually different with her.

My reasons to Love Gintoki  & Tsukuyo

The first meeting of Gintoki and Tsukuyo was different from any other girl who met Gintoki. I mean, every girl met by the samurai made a bad impression on him. Tsukuyo was the first woman who made a good impression on him! their first argument who killed Seita. Perverted texts he spoke to Tsukuyo xD. They reminded me of Umibozu and Kouka, and their first meeting.

When Tsukuyo opposed Hosen’s rule. Hyakka hurt her. Kiseru,which Gintoki kept, fell to the ground. When he grabbed Kiseru,he tightly pressed Kiseru and looked worried but he ran on because he believed she would come back.Then Gintoki and Tsukuyo were strangers to each other. Between those two, was trust. Yes. (Tsukuyo entrusted Hinowa with complete strangers)

When Gintoki fought with Hosen, it felt like he was dead. Tsukuyo knew he was alive and her words woke Gintoki.

Gintoki and Tsukuyo have a similar past! When Jiraya kidnapped Tsukuyo. Gintoki was furious because Jiraya treated Tsukuyo so badly. Then Tsukuyo was the first woman who was in his arms. He did not reject her, he held her tight.

 And when Tsukuyo finds out about Gintoki’s past.Then Tsukuyo understood that Gintoki understood her perfectly. Her expression spoke of everything. She also understands his pain, what he feels(look at tsukuyo’s face she was very shocked whenshe learned that Gintoki had lost his master. They both survived the same. They share the same pain)

Tsukuyo physically attracts Gintoki.He  catch her by the boobs or butt xD (I love then when Tsukuyo’s eyes pierce and she is red haha)

This my most favorite moment!!!!

Gintoki is a lazy! It’s hard for him to work, but he moves his lazy ass to Yoshiwara to visit Tsukuyo. He comes to her alone without Kagura and Shinpachi

Gintoki doesn’t  care about what other women think about him, but Tsukuyo is the only woman who makes him feel ashamed. At their first meeting, Gintoki was very moved by the goodness of Tsukuyo and the samurai cried.Tsukuyo gives him different emotions (their  quarrels are marvelous)

When Tsukuyo became a “Drunk terminator,” she asked Gintoki, “You don’t  want me?” And he answered “Not true.” I understand that he wants her!

In the “scandal” gintoki thought he slept with all women, he was very unhappy  in the cinema scene, he didnt catch Tsukuyo.When Gintoki got stuck in the wall. He only said to Tsukuyo, “I’m home" 

Gintoki said that Tsukuyo is his wife. He said this to the boss of the spider gang that he and Tsukuyo are married!

Tsukuyo is the only woman who can stop Gintoki from escaping when he does something stupid. (I think of a courtesan of a nation arc). When Gintoki kicked the can and it landed at the head of the shogun and made him lose consciousness.He and Nobume wanted to run away, but Tsukuyo stopped them. Thanks to Gintoki. She became herself.

It was cute as Tsukuyo denies that she likes Gintoki, then as a drunk terminator she threw chocolates in his face (Yes it was funny for me hahaha)

When they were both on the balcony in the  potion arc . Gintoki said, "Smelling the smoke of a moron is enough for me” and she said to him  “Whether it’s winter or spring, once in a while, I just like being next to you like this and blowing poisonous smoke in your face. That’s enough to make me happy” (Then my heart said they are made for each other)

After two years, when Gintoki returned to Edo. He became attached to Tsukuyo. TO TSUKUYO! ( I had the impression that their hands are intertwined （๑✧∀✧๑ ) )

The way they are dressed is similar. Tsukuyo  on kimono has    autumn leavesI believe that this is also an important detail!

When Gintoki and Tsukuyo were teaching Seita Japanese history. They both tried to maintain their versions of Japan’s history, which ended up telling stories according to GinTsuki. Both are fatal teachers hahaha (Their children will be a lot of fun with such teachers haha)

Gintoki and Tsukuyo have a unique bond. Gintoki creates a different relationship with Tsukuyo than other girls in the series. can see that they are not indifferent to each other.Tsukuyo has the best relationship with Gintoki (except kagura), their quarrels funny, but it’s their way to express their feelings. Gintoki  treats her differently than other women in the gintama.Every moment of GinTsu is wonderful! Gintoki and Tsukuyo complement each other. #That’s why i’m Gintoki x Tsukuyo Team

Gintsu and Gintoki.

Is it just me or is Gintoki actually aware of how Tsukuyo feels.

Ever since the love potion I’ve had this stuck on my mind. Even if Tsukuyo is not that vocal about her feelings there have been times where she may have Gintoki a clue or two. Also Gintoki is the type of person who can gauge everyone’s emotions after interacting with them once or twice and It might not look like it but he’s pretty attentive towards the people around him.

Everyone remembers this scene right?

Tsukuyo once again says that she’s pretty content with being by his side. 

For the anime, when Sacchan spread around fake news about her marriage with Gintoki, Tsukuyo scribble up Seita and Hinowa’s comment but they’re still readable.

also when Sacchan tries to steal a kiss from Gintoki during the last scene of the movie Tsukuyo interrupts her.

I mean, it’s not much but Gintoki is witnessing all of these actions can put two and two together.

It’s might just be my shipper brain going out of control with this one but I’ll put my money on the fact that Gintoki is well aware of the fact tsukuyo likes him but tries to ignore it.

So Gintama had this episode where the editor was agonizing over what made the series "Gintaman" drop in the rankings.

They decide that what it was lacking was a heroine. Over a table of food, bananas, and liquor, they rattle off characteristics. When you watch this episode, you’ll notice a few suggestions stand out from the usual.

There were other miscellaneous criteria too that I didn’t take a screenie of, like she had to have big boobs, must be pretty, and live in a place full of women.

This episode also takes place right before the Yoshiwara in Flames arc. By this time, you all know who I’m referring to.

Tsukuyo’s weak and Gintoki must always save her life.  Frist I’ll say in Gintama don’t have any weak girls and i’m sure  most gintama fans l’ll agree with me,also Sorachi doesn’t think Tsukuyo’s weak. 

This is a short description of Tsukuyo in manga. “The most powerful gurad” .YES, Tsukuyo is the guardian of women from Yoshiwara. She does not sell the body. Many times it has been said that Tsukuyo is a virgin. 

Tsukuyo never saved Gintoki’s life? Do we read the same manga?. Red Spider Arc. She killed her master to save his life. 

She killed the master she cared to save Gntoki’s life. She IS strong enough to lift the burden of her own teacher. Gintoki and Zeznou envy her strength.

Jiraya was fucking coward like Gintoki said to him. He was afraid of killing himself, so he would like Tsukuyo to do it. He wanted her to end his life because he is a coward and he couldn’t  do it. At the end he was happy dying at the side of Tsukuyo, in which he saw his own sister. This shows that Tsukuyo is strong physically and mentally!

The beginning of Red Spider Arc. Tsukuyo SAVED GINTOKI’S LIFE!

Tsukuyo is protected by Gintoki. Gintoki is protected by Tsukuyo.Tsukuyo saved his life many times.

Tsukuyo is fall in love with Gintoki does it make her  weak? NOPE! Don’t forget Love potion arc where Tsukuyo hold Gintoki like feather and here Gintoki saved Hotaru. Tsukuyo saved both of them. 

Tsukuyo after 2 years is much stronger than before

Tsukuyo is damn strong and Sorachi showed us how stronger she has been in these two years.

Tsukuyo is fall in love with Gintoki and she is accept it. she loves him unconditionally. It’s Hinowa push Tsukuyo to Gintoki. Hinowa perfect know how much Tsukuyo loves Gintoki and wants to support her.

Tsukuyo is desperate for Gintoki. This is something wrong. It suits Ayame  Sarutobi. It was she  for the whole stalking him,wanted to force her to love him, the more he rejected her, the more excited she was. 

I understand that all these lies are to show how Tsukuyo is a bad woman for Gintoki.

She has the most canons  and beautiful scenes with Gintoki  in series ,and no one else has such scenes with him.

Even Sacchan said in 698 chapter “Man You Love”

Sarutobi understood that Tsukuyo loves Gintoki with sincere love.Another beautiful moment showing the truth of Tsukuyo’s feeling for Gintoki. I was very surprised and happy that Sacchan said it.

I really have no idea if my GinTsu couple will be canon. I doubt it, but after all I will be  ship them because Gintoki and Tsukuyo have a unique bond and we have so many canon scenes with them,and are  AMAZING,BADASS Couple,with warm hearts to protect to friends. 

Tsukuyo is the only woman in the series who perfectly understands Gintoki’s pain.they understand themselves.

Tsukuyo’s damn strong girl. The one of the most strongest girls in Gintama. she is mentally and physically strong. And I admire it the most. I’m grateful  Sorachi for Tsukki & GinTsu canon scenes @saitouh

Tsukuyo’s strand of hair is on Gintoki’s ring finger (the one on his pinky is Suzuran’s, if you don’t remember) while Gintoki’s strand of hair is on Tsukuyo’s pinky.

Remember this scene from the Kintoki arc? I think it was cute how, while Kintoki and Sa-chan were conversing and Gintoki kinda joined out of the blue, Tsukuyo was the first one to suggest that she would listen to him. Maybe not much of a hint pairing-wise, but it says a lot about her character.

Look at this tsukuyo just blatantly confesses her feelings without even blushing.

Look at this gintoki so shocked and out of focus and trying to cover it up by saying tsukuyo should focus on the battle.

But good ol’ jiraiya always knows whats up with this two.
