The sun is finally rising on a new chapter for Realms - brand new networking module and a brand new world coming your way.
**Us when we saw how slow unity’s transport layer LLAPI was**
That’s right everybody we’re back with our very own vanilla networking system! It’s super fast and allows for infinite, MMO worlds in unity - maybe we’ll release it on the asset store for all y’all, not sure right now. Not really concerned about that right now. We’re gunna go back to building a game instead of a ground up rework of unity’s HLAPI for a chunk-based world. Expect same awesome stuff soon - our team has been cooking fantastic models behind the scenes and it’s gunna be some outrageous fun.
New World, New Peeps
Hey guys! Jake here. I wanted to throw down a bit of an update as to what's going on with Realms. After 03 we sat down and decided to tear down those acid tripping sci fi walls at the edge of the world. Honestly, we need something much bigger. So I'm finally relieved to say, the great fuckening is upon us. It sounds bad, I know, but it's really not. Basically the networking we're using in the game right now is kindergarten stuff, and to get to a huge, And I mean literally endless if we want, world, we need to write our own networking solution. So the programmers are underwater and working hard to make expansive, realistically sized continents a reality. That means 04 likely won't see a lot of gameplay updates, other than a massive world. And it also means it may take longer than the usual 1 week cycles. Updates will be coming during the dry spell. But wait. You guys didn't really think we were gunna just not add fun stuff did you? Luckily we have 5 new team members working hard on you guessed it CONTENT! 3 modelers working hard right now to start filling out the item tree, crafting devices, and so on. Edin, Carian, and Baz are cranking on getting not only items but a brand new building system out by 05!! Meanwhile, Dorrell is baking up some sickening ambient vapor-folk for our minimalist background music. He's a composer, and he's rad. Expect to see some major content additions and tech improvements over the next few weeks! The realm is fast approaching!!!

Hey hey, what can I say - we stayed up way too late today :D I'm proud to introduce everyone to inDev 0.2! We're hitting you with a brand new world, mysterious ruins, nimble foxes, and of course, an ample supply of shrooms (they're up in the thick part of the woods). Enjoy your time alone here because you might have company in the next week or so ;) - explore, gather, log, hunt, eat, survive. Expect a small tutorial on new features and new keybindings sometime soon - have fun!

InDev 0.2 Is definitely about to be released - the foxes are a tad too suicidal right now, but the world is looking just as spiffy as ever so we’re dropping some eye candy. FPS controls are way smoother, sound mapping is music to the ears, hotkeys fixed on up, persistent server backups and tons more! Bout to hit you keep checking over the next few days.
