ok i just rbed this with tags on the Mindcrack Trial but its surprisingly underrated for what may have been the earliest or first minecraft trial (posted on October 1st 2012, with lots of lead up from weeks prior) and its very important if wanting to talk about the history of trials!
so i will reply with even more information for those curious:
"The Trial" as it was named during Mindcrack, was a two part (for most people's uploads) series of videos where B Team (Bdubs and GenerikB) and Etho were in court for uh, kind of a mashup of reasons but was mainly B Team stealing from Etho, and Etho retaliating by murdering them.
So you may be wondering what do you watch to have this make sense?? Most of this content is one-sided from B Team's side as they did some very obvious roleplay as mafia people. Note! I am only referring to Bdubs' season 1 episodes and not Genny's. I dont have time to check Genny and they p much always collab so its unlikely I missed anything.
here is a timeline with most of the episodes! as with any 12 year old youtube video, heads up for dated humor and possibly tasteless jokes lol.
Episode 81: crime is committed. Etho expects payment from Bdubs for something, Bdubs tries to kill him instead. Etho kills him successfully, then Bdubs & Genny go off to steal from Etho as payback. When they try to escape, Etho kills them multiple times.
Episode 89: Bdubs and Genny start to construct the court house within the Arena. They come across Pause (one of Etho's lawyers) and try to bribe him on the case and to represent them. B Team also starts to go and leave bribes for others from here.
Episode 90: Not super important to watch, mostly Bdubs talking about the trial. The emeralds he used to bribe Baj (the judge) were also returned to his base.
Episode 91, 93, 95: the bribes and/or threats continue. Kurtjmac, Nebris, Zisteau, MCgamer, Doc, and thejims are bribed. Mashing these together mainly because 93 is a lot of wandering and talking with the end part being the last bribe. Ep 95 is simply Bdubs talking and then mentioning Millbee's B Team application (link to Millbee's vid is in the description)
Episode 96: Bdubs and Genny talk about the case again. they send a "warning" by blowing up Etho's base (theyre helping. because it needs to be dug out lol..)
Episode 98: B Team hideout & reviewing Millbee's application. Not much happening in this video but worth mentioning the continuation.
Extra - Episode 100: a few days before the Trial, a moment Bdubs and Etho have together where they are just at Bdubs' remodeled spawn home. Its just simple talking so not super important, but they also talk about the trial a bit more than half way through the video. And its just nice interaction.
The Trial part 1 & part 2: Aaand here we are. I am linking bdubs' and I suggest his bc it has the fun intros! I will give a proper summary for those who dont want to watch (i understand, it is old and long). B Team are represented by Guude. Genny has decided to try and gain sympathy by appearing injured and in poor condition after Etho had killed him back during the crime. Etho is represented by Beef and Pause. Both sides bring up their points, as well as witnesses. A number of them admit to how the B Team bribed them for the case, but some do not (notably, Nebris).
B Team attempts to kill Etho by rigging a bomb under the floor where he stands but it fails. Etho goes up to speak and they bring up evidence. They call up their last people and the verdict arrives. they find the B Team not guilty but they want to see the gallows used for fun. They do, but when they fall through the trap doors, Millbee helps them escape through a tunnel he dug.
this is basically it! as with all mcyt you may find other videos scattered around that have different footage but for the most part these eps from Bdubs are the ones I would follow.
