Adriana Lima by Ellen Von Unwerth for Vogue (1999)
[N]ot only has housework been imposed on women, but it has been transformed into a natural attribute of our female physique and personality, an internal need, an aspiration, supposedly coming from the depth of our female character. Housework had to be transformed into a natural attribute rather than be recognized as a social contract because from the beginning of capital’s scheme for women this work was destined to be unwaged. Capital had to convince us that it is a natural, unavoidable and even fulfilling activity to make us accept our unwaged work. In its turn, the unwaged condition of housework has been the most powerful weapon in reinforcing the common assumption that housework is not work, thus preventing women from struggling against it, except in the privatized kitchen-bedroom quarrel that all society agrees to ridicule, thereby further reducing the protagonist of a struggle. We are seen as nagging bitches, not workers in struggle.
Silvia Federici (1975)
A person needs just three things to be truly happy in the world: someone to love, something to do, and something to hope for.

Sometimes you need to take a break from distracting yourself and just. Confront what you feel. I mean everything’s exhausting, like repressing your feelings takes a lot of energy and expressing them takes a lot of energy so I think you gotta do both. Take turns. I don’t think you have to commit to doing one or the other. It’s not about being strong or being weak I think it’s just about being lighter and more fluid.
Everything I eat needs to b spicy tbh the burn makes me feel alive
I have 99 problems and the fact that people consider friendships to be less important than romantic relationships is one
Fun fact: I also exist when ur not bored, lonely, or horny
“Sickness” as we speak of it today is a capitalist construct, as is its perceived binary opposite, “wellness.” The “well” person is the person well enough to go to work. The “sick” person is the one who can’t. What is so destructive about conceiving of wellness as the default, as the standard mode of existence, is that it invents illness as temporary. When being sick is an abhorrence to the norm, it allows us to conceive of care and support in the same way. Care, in this configuration, is only required sometimes. When sickness is temporary, care is not normal. Here’s an exercise: go to the mirror, look yourself in the face, and say out loud: “To take care of you is not normal. I can only do it temporarily.” Saying this to yourself will merely be an echo of what the world repeats all the time.
