Lowkey I have many fanfic ideas (esp male reader ones) but I either don't have the time to type them or I'm too lazy to. Maybe I should just be a magic genie that gives ppl fic ideas through anons, like just tell me what fandom or character or like a bare bones string of words you want nd I'll just make a whole plot. Also I have a fanfic idea for Diabolik lovers that I just have on the back burner and I'm not sure if I should do anything with that, let me know if you want it or whatever.
Not fanfiction related (for once) but I've come to realize that I just hate harems in manga/anime/web toons etc.
Like I was reading a bl and they advertised it as like a story where all the characters grow together and learn to love each other as a group, basically a poly relationship rather than a harem, but at the very end the MC ends up with the first male lead we meet and it was like 90 chapters of learning about these characters and seeing their dynamics only for the author to clearly have a relationship in mind and just string along everyone with the placebo that they'll all be together.
Like why have all the male leads in cover, advertised all over the damn thing, and its very clear from the jump that you never intended for the MC to romance any of the other guys??? And this isnt even just for bl, the same could be said for just media in general cuz if I don't like the "intended" love interest then what? Now I feel like I wasted my time and it's like losing chess to a dog.
(Also the main ml says he doesn't mind the MC being with the other guys and even encourages everyone to be together for like 80% of the webcomic only for it to be that he's actually jealous and he wants MC for himself but like idk y'all... Something something painting polyamory in a bad lighting, I just want these things to be upfront if there is clearly an Intended pairing so I don't go through the trouble of getting attached to characters I'm never gonna see be happy again.)
I need to put everything down before I forget it and remember to take my words with a grain of salt. Anyway here's my thoughts after seeing it!
OMG IT WAS SO PERFECT!!!! Now obviously not everyone is gonna have the same opinion as me going forward but from my own personal experience I found the movie very good!
The movie is very much Vanessa focused this time around, with Mike and Abby on the sorta back burner but I'm not actually mad about it! A lot of people, me included, felt that Vanessa was a bit much especially because at that time we had no reason behind her madness and role in the movie but I think this makes up for that!
Everyone is trying to kind of get back to normal after the events of the first movie so the wounds are still closed but they're still very much there and they are ITCHY. Mike is trying to keep everything together, make sure that Freddy's is a thing of the past and nobody still has it on the back of their minds while Abby and Vanessa are unfortunately facing the brunt of the damage that's been done.
Abby feels misplaced, everything is normal but it's not HER normal and while she has made somewhat of a friend the people she cares about most--the animatronics are now gone, she can't fully express herself. There are people that obviously care about her but they're not the people she wants and what little efforts she makes to correct that feeling of loneliness are shutdown constantly by either Mike or other adult(s) around her (side note: there's an asshole of a science/robotics teacher that keeps being condescending and actively ruins what little joy she had outside of Freddy's which is MEAN).
Vanessa on the other hand is complicated. She WANTS to be right there with Mike and she's trying to find some sense of peace but Freddy's and the manipulation William put upon her leaves sleep ruined and a bad taste in her mouth. She can see his shadow creeping behind her, she hears his voice even in the loudest of rooms, she is so front and center to the boogyman that it's tearing her and the relationships she tries to keep apart.
We get some old but new faces this time around with a guy who helps mike and Abby refurbish their house (I forgot his name if anyone wants to tell me let me know!), Charlotte, Henry, and MICHAEL AFTON!???? I'm gonna go down the line really quick, these are first impressions, kinda what stood out to me.
Mike friend: Cool guy, very funny actually and he seems very sweet to Abby, thinks Vanessa is off her fucking rocker but is always down to help a friend.
Charlotte: Oh you poor child. They tweaked her backstory a bit by making her best friends with kid Vanessa (the LAYERS) AND HER DEATH SCENE WAS HEARTBREAKING. Like obviously we know how she died lore wide but in this rendition she sees a kid get swiped by William asks all the adults she can for help (GOOD ON HER) BUT THEY ALL IGNORE HER??? Then she goes into the backrooms herself and saves the kid only for William to stab her in the back (ha!) and by the time she makes it out of the back and into the main floor she SCREAMS IN ANGER and slowly slumps over in her death... Just in time for her favorite animatronic to rise from the stage and hold her dead body like a mother would their newborn. She had such a heart of gold and it saved a child but at what cost? The adults didn't listen and the killer lived on with her blood on his knife.
Henry: He comes in later in the movie but we see the work he puts in through Mike finding a poster made to warn people of Freddy's and get justice for his daughter. I was kinda under the impression that Henry was oblivious to Williams shenanigans but in the movie he and Mike have a sit down and he tells him how looking back on it he wasn't attentive to charlotte due to his work and he feels bad because of it, but mentions how (correct me if I'm wrong) even though it was said to be an accident he knows it's William that did it. He gives Mike a music box meant to honor charlotte and tells it to give it to her because it calms her down. (Sidenote again: when looking at the music box the ballerina in it kinda looks like Ballora but that could just be mind fuckery from an overexcited brain) unfortunately no more henry after that so sadge :(
MICHAEL AFTON: WHAT THE FUCKKKK!??? So there are now two mikes in this universe. I have a very bad feeling that the fandom will be divided over this simple fact but here we go! So Micheal gets introduced in the beginning of the movie and he just seems like a creepy Freddy's enthusiast at first. LATER HOWEVER, During the finale it is revealed that he is the brother of Vanessa and he wants to continue Williams work and bring the family together because according to William and his questionable parenting they have a "purpose". He does (somehow) get control of the toy animatronics and kinda uses them to sway/threaten Vanessa to the dark side before siccing them on our found family. Also idk if anyone will think this but he looks like a human version of what "canon" William/Dave was supposed to look like, y'know that one piece of art that gives him the wide ass smile? Yeah
So now that I've gone through what I feel like are the main characters I'm gonna just start ping-ponging all over the place so here we go!
AHH I LOVE HOW THE TOY ANIMATRONICS LOOK AND THEIR VOICES ARE SO GOOD! Ik MatPat is toy Bonnie but I couldn't hear him while watching it so it seems like unless you're in the know you won't tell.
Chica being the main villain was not on my bingo!
Charlotte after she becomes the puppet is a very interesting take and I like that after she possesses someone they get the crying children/puppet face paint on their faces. It is very heartbreaking but warming to see that while she hates adults she still cares for children and doesn't want to hurt them if she has to. (Which btw her tolerance for "disobedient children" is kinda thin and she threatens to kill Abby which DAMN)

Mike was kind of on and off during the movie, you can see where he's coming from but he has moments where he was being a right asshole but again complexity and just you gotta be a little lenient on him
WILLIAM WHEN I GET YOU!!! He put that girl through the wringer!! Vanessa tries to get over her fear of William and his misdeeds by using the dream warping thing that Mike did last movie and it was AWFUL. You can just feel her trying to stand up for herself but the more William talks and walks closer the more she slowly reverts back to the impressionable weak child he wanted her to be. The things he says to her are so sickening (ie: "don't you know I love you?" "Don't you know I care about you?" "You are mine" "You will be mine" the earlier mentioned "you have a purpose" etc.) And it really pinpoints just how terrible he was and the grip he had on her as a kid, not to mention the scene distorts to her running through the house as a child!? Ugh
This movie really made me feel for Vanessa this time around because I almost cried when Mike told her to stay away from him and Abby. You can see the heartbreak on her face and how she realizes the last semblance of a family she had doesn't want her anymore. Then we get jumpscared by the puppet who then takes over Vanessa's body and thus the movie ends.
END CREDITS REVEALED THAT FAZBEAR FRIGHTS MIGHT BE NEXT UEAAHHHH BABY LET'S GO!!
Now we come to a close, obviously I left things out and gave some bits more questions than answers but if you really wanna dive deep and fiddle around with the theories then I do recommend you go see it for yourself (if you haven't already). Now I wouldn't call myself a Vanessa apologist but I can definitely now see why the way that she was in the first movie and it made me like her a bit more. She is unstable, she is unhealthy but she's trying to fix that as best as she can without sacrificing a part of herself in the process. Anyways feel free to scream in my comments, correct me or theorize yourself down below, just know this is all my opinion and I'm going off the top of my head so be a bit gentle!
A pet peeve of mine in fanfiction is when a character is established to have a kid (canon or otherwise) and the kid is never relevant or brought up for the rest of the fic. Like why have that be an important character detail and just never use it??? The fanfic could've just went without it and have been the exact same but now there's an extra character I'm wondering about.

Yeah, Whether it be in Sailor Moon or not I kinda always found villains to be very attractive. Especially during those times where main villains were pretty much always pretty boys.
(Inspired by Figure You Out - voilá) Diamante's purple gaze was meeting yours, feeling an unknown desire that like this. He slowly approaches in slow steps so that with his hands he goes to your face, so that he leans in to capture your lips with his. Kissing in a slow, hungry way but there was subtlety so that you wouldn't be scared.

Read a fanfic where the author had readers waiting for months for a new chapter (I was also one of those people) and when they finally released an update it was an advertisement for their discord and them going "sorry not a chapter lol, I'm not continuing this story any more come join my discord" (not word for word, take this with a grain of salt) and idk if I'm just weird but seeing something like that makes it feel kinda unauthentic??? Idk the way it was worded made it feel like the whole fanfic was like a clout tactic and now that they got big they just quit??? Am I crazy??
Quick reminder that you CAN request fics from writers if they have their inbox open!! If you want to see something specific then just ask for it, they even have an anonymous feature if you're worried about privacy! I'm tired of seeing people screaming out into the void as if they're helpless.
There's no shame in asking someone if they can write a fic for you! If you have done all that and STILL can't find the fan fics you're looking for then that's tough shit but don't act as if no one's willing to write fan fics upon request.
Ugh give me more Gothic romance fics, I've seen the modern aus, I've seen fluffy baker aus, give me the "Vampire wants to make you his bride" type of fics, I want the push and pull, the macabre yet sultry vibes of wearing black lace while dancing in the ballroom of a dark monarch.
Where's my corpse bride moment where you accidentally pick up a ring and are indebted to an eldritch being of horrors? Where's the crying by the cemetery one day and slowly falling in love with a mysterious stranger, only to find out they were a ghost the whole time? I want angst but bittersweet moments of clarity yknow? Man, I miss fanfics before covid :(
