ELPHIE !
There seems to be a long list of things that Eli allowed Glinda to do that no one else could. Calling her anything other than Eli was one, sleeping in her bed was two, touching her hair was at least three. It appeared longer every passing day. It was more than a little alarming. Alarming as her heartbeat as Glinda arranges the long braids in what Eli has to assume is a less disheveled look. Perhaps it was the way Glinda touched her that made Elphaba surrender – always delicate and well meaning.
In a blink of an eye the blonde has disappeared – lord only knew how she could move that quickly when she was up to something. A small smile plays on her lips before she repeats the chosen word to the empty room. “Rosé. Rosé? Glinda, that means pink!” Dread fills her chest as she catches sight of herself in the one mirror she’s hung in her bedroom. A small, bedraggled figure in her giant black t-shirt and sweat pants stares back with tired eyes.
There’s something amusing about Glinda’s lithe frame carrying the huge load of supplies into her room, and a chuckle forces itself from Elphaba’s lips. But the dress – the dress is most definitely pink and very, well, Glinda. It practically had her name emblazoned in rhinestones across the front. The idea of her boyish figure in something Glinda probably looked flawless in was nearly comical.
And it’s not that Eli hates dresses! She’s more partial to them than pants, as she hates feeling confined by clothing. But the thing was they were never meant to be pretty. Nothing about Elphaba was intended to be pretty. Just functional.
“You really don’t have to do that, Glinda…”
She doesn’t have to look up to see the pout that her friend is likely wearing, she can feel it. Her cheeks flush, turning about as rosé as the beautiful garment. But big warm eyes are peering at her with a smile that could rival the sun. How on earth is she supposed to say no to her? “I’ll try it on, but it’ll look silly…– turn around.” She smiles sheepishly as she touches the fabric as if she’ll ruin it any second.
PROTESTS ARE IGNORED TO THE ACTRESS’ BEST ABILITY. which is not always an accomplishment. the young lady wears her emotions on her sleeve. a proverb that is far too ACCURATE for the taller of the two. while the fellow female appears to hide the way she truly feels a majority of the time , GLINDA has never been known for her ability to hide – well , ANYTHING. on the contrary , really , emotions are clear upon features – at times painfully blunt.
the POUT is expected , shoulders slumping lightly at the argument. who doesn’t want presents ? the blonde has never refused a gift , in fact , she EXPECTS them. especially flowers following a successful SHOW. while most -- no , no -- ALL people would jump at the occasion of wearing one of her glamorous , DESIGNER dresses -- ELPHIE all but refuses. & this certainly isn’t the first time she’s attempted to get her roommate into her BEAUTIFUL clothing , nor will it be the last.
& yet , words are unnecessary as the woman before her reluctantly agrees. the change in emotion is IMMEDIATE , lips curving into that usual brilliant grin. a small sound slips through lips , definitely HAPPY -- though she attempts to contain it. as to not scare away the loveliness before her.
instead she nods profusely , rushing to take a seat on the bed. behind ELPHIE. after all , her roommate has to get up to change. back presses gently to the other , hands moving to cover BRIGHT HUES. ❛ you are gonna look GORGEOUS ! ❜ even on the bed , the girl seems to be bouncing from pure EXCITEMENT.
❛ i might have to cut it – since you’re a SHRIMP , but it’ll totally be worth it ! oh ! i should get scissors ! ❜ ah – she’s about to TURN. she’s partially forgotten that the other is changing. partially , she wouldn’t mind seeing elphaba naked. ❛ everyone’s gonna be hot for ELPHIE ! ❜
