After a lot of writing and research, I am finally ready to explain the mechanics of Queen Bouncelia’s Scepter! Yay!
This took a while for me to figure out how I was going to format everything without it being… idk, bad? But I have no idea how else to show everything off, so I’m just gonna put the images I have and explain shit at the bottom. I’m gonna be yapping a lot, so just bare with me 😭🙏
First off is the design! I obviously wasn’t going to get rid of the core aspect of the Scepter (the heart), but I tried to make it look more cool, as well as making it look like it belonged to both Bouncelia and Dadadoo. So in addition to the heart, I put in motifs belonging to Dadadoo, such as the teeth-like design in the inner heart and eye in the mount of the heart (idk what you call that). Some extra stuff I added was the purple sash, a gem with no function, gold stuff, and a handle at the bottom! The crown was inspired by a heart key that I had, which had the crown at the top of the heart. Luckily I gave the crown a function aside from looking pretty.
Also just as a side note, before designing the Scepter I thought that it would be too big for any character to hold since Bouncelia is 9’0”ft in the rewrite, but upon doing some of my own research, that’s not the case (also 9’0”ft tall isn’t that tall lol). I estimate that the Scepter is at least 6’11”ft or something like that.
This is where I get into explaining the functions of the Scepter, with it basically being a Thermal Cycler (which if you don’t know what that is, a Thermal Cycler is a device used to make millions and billions of copies of DNA through a process called Polymerase Chain Reaction, or PCR for short).
For how it actually works:
First, the scepter holder has to push down onto the button below the handle, causing a small needle to pierce through their skin and take a small portion of their GV/blood.
The collected GV/blood sample will shoot up through the tube within the rod and into the Inner Heart. There is a kind of door hatch thing that will close once the sample has entered the Inner Heart (there's probably sensors that activate when the sample goes in).
Once the sample has entered the Inner Heart, the heart will begin heating and cooling to make millions and billions of copies of the scepter holder's DNA. Various buffers are added to help synthesis the new DNA copies. At the same time, there is a battery connected to the Crown, collecting the DNA into electrical pulses that then shoot out of the Crown when making contact with a GV-Based Body.
The Outer Heart amplifies the replication process, basically making the scepter holder's replicated DNA stronger and last for longer in a GV-Based Body, and the working theory is that the DNA will be strong enough to completely rewrite any living being's DNA. These parts can be removed, however.
I did write some lore on the scepter, so uh, here’s that too:
The Scepter would've been created some time in the 90s after the creation of Queen Bouncelia, and as Little Garten Academy (I renamed Banban’s Kindergarten) already had students enrolling. Originally, the Scepter was created in order for Bouncelia to better fit her role as ruler, with its material being mostly made from simple materials, such as styrofoam. Though, upon seeing the Scepter, Syringeon got inspired and wanted to make the Scepter into more of a tool rather than just a meaningless prop. So he built a similar design to the original prop, basically creating his own Thermal Cycler.
Thermal Cyclers were already being used in the Underground Research Facility for further research and modifications of DNA Mixtures, but Syringeon wanted to create a device that would be used to transfer foreign DNA into GV-Based Bodies in order for said foreign DNA to overlap the GV-Based Body's DNA, temporarily changing their behavior. This was created as part of the many solutions Syringeon was making to fix Banban's "problem", though as a test, he made it to where only Bouncelia and Dadadoo's DNA were transferable since he trusted them both the most with the things he created. Though the Scepter's ability to copy and transfer DNA was getting stronger the more Syringeon worked on it. It got to a point where you could just put DNA into loose clay, and it would come to life, which is how the first Naughty One was created. It almost borderline magic, even though it wasn't magical.
Management would get wind of the Scepters "magical properties", possibly due to Bouncelia hinting at the work Syringeon had done on it to her caretaker (Bethaline "Beth" Fortin), though the Scepter they received was the original prop Scepter, dismissing any suspicions of "magic". Management chalked up the claims of it being magical to Bouncelia being way into her role as ruler. (ALSO, this was the same time that Givanium Entrapment was discovered, since when Management came down to investigate the Scepter, Bouncelia and Dadadoo hid the Naughty One into her pouch. When Management left, they couldn't get the Naughty One out of the pouch since it looked empty inside, which upset her. So Bittergiggle came in to cheer her up, causing her to laugh and the beam of light to come from her pouch, along with the Naughty One coming out as well.)
When they started planning for a rebellion, Dadadoo started wanting to do more than just "take down their creators". At this point, the Scepter was way too overpowered (it needs to be nerfed), and Dadadoo knew that. After some kind of disagreement about how to go about things (and also Dadadoo wanting to start an actual genocide), he steals the Scepter from Syringeon and created dozens of Naughty Ones (had to be at least 50), and was just gonna deal with their creators himself. Management would find out about the rebellion, though they were mostly going to deal with Dadadoo. And by deal with him, I mean actually kill him. Syringeon didn't want that, and he didn't want to go through with Dadadoo's "kill all humans" plan (neither did anyone else). So everyone teamed up to take down Dadadoo and his Naughty One army (all commanded by Management), and they would stuff all of them into Bouncelia's pouch. To really make sure they wouldn't escape, Syringeon sewed Bouncelia's pouch shut (and yes, it was painful for her). The Scepter would be confiscated by Management, and Syringeon was basically forced to explain how it worked. Surprisingly, Management would return the Scepter to Syringeon, telling him to put it somewhere where no one could access it. Also adding in: "If another thing like this happens, we won't hesitate to slime you", or something like that idk lol.
NOW since I got all that covered, I’m also just gonna talk about Dadadoo real quick since he is VERY important when it comes to the Scepter.
Since every character has a specific ability to them, Dadadoo's specific ability is DNA Hive Mind. When his DNA overlaps a GV-Based Body, the DNA will connect them to him, and he could command them to do whatever he wants them to do. Essentially mind control. Though this also works with Bouncelia, but what makes Dadadoo different is that his DNA (with the help of a complete Scepter) can destroy human DNA. Foreign DNA can't actually destroy human DNA due to all the defenses it has, so ill just say that Dadadoo's is strong enough to bypass those defenses. His DNA is basically a virus to humans, which is good if you want to kill every human on the planet!
And that’s everything I wanted to share! It’s a lot, I know, but the Scepter has always been something I wanted to work on rewriting (even though it works exactly the same as it does in game). Uh I hope you have fun reading everything I wrote :3
