PINNED ABOUT PALESTINE
There are a lot of Palestinian gofundme/chuffed accounts that are asking for donations. Remember that:
1) As much as there have been several scams, there is
no reason
to assume any first account asking you is a scam just because they're using AI, spam, side accounts... People are starving in Gaza because there's a *genocide*, it is bad faith to demand them keep their cool at all times.
2) Some people are not able to donate to fundraisers, either because they have no/little money, tight budget or are well off but under pressure (from family, governments etc.) You have no obligation to donate to anyone, but please still keep in mind that there are families starving in Gaza that could benefit from your help, *especially* if you can afford to help both yourself and them. Also remember to be civil.
3) Pal accounts get silenced/banned for being too spammy but it doesn't mean you have to be. When sharing posts or uploading answers to replies please try avoiding too repetetive wording or using empty replies to not get flagged by the algorithm - it is still helpful, just not worth getting a ban when people you do it for are starving dead.
4) Do not demand people doxx themselves or embarass otherwise just to get donations. Israel openly targets civilians and doing this is highlighting innocent people to put a target on.
5) (a bit unrelated) If you are an artist, you (again) aren't obligated but you *can* make pro-Palestinian art.
6) And most important: SHARE Palestinians' gofundmes, chuffed campaigns and other content. It takes about no time to forward a post and add a few tags to make it more visible (just remember to put relevant tags)
Putting gfms in the replies of popular posts is also a good method to share, so use this if you want.
It is not just about making cute projects or mutual aid, it's about keeping sure families can stay alive for another day.
