rambling a bit into the void cuz i'm feeling some type of way after tyler's letter.

i'll get personal here, i wish i knew how to verbalize what this band and narrative have meant to me over the years. i found them after vessel was released, right before blurryface. i've spent more than 10 years following their journey, and they've accompanied me through mine. some of the hardest times in my life were spent listening to their music. i've welcomed new eras after very traumatic events and every time it felt a bit like coming home after a long and exhausting journey. i'm not a person who gets attached easily, i know how disappointments feel and i'll probably feel them again. yet this band came at a time when i needed it most, and along with it brought an amazing storyline which captivated me from the very start. i will forever be grateful for that. what can i say, i finally got a bit attached. it is bittersweet to look back on everything, especially today. how chaotic and unpredictable it has been, and such a joy to experience from the very beginning.

the ending has been looming over us for a while now, the clique is currently in flames over tyler's letter. but i do wanna say that while them slowing down after nonstop touring was the natural conclusion of things, it will be a long time before they stop making music. they've said multiple times how they want to keep creating and performing until their bones fail them from age. however, we might have to go through a transitional stage. they're getting older, they have families to take care of, and i don't believe they ever thought they would get to live long enough to see themselves happy. crafting this story over the years has taken a lot out of them too, creatively and emotionally. i think they have to figure out who and what they are without the weight of it.

while all of this is true, i also wish the clique knew how to exercise empathy for once. international fans have every right to be disappointed, hurt, sad, everything at once. they're not entitled, they're not selfish, they've grown up with their music the same as everyone else. some never had the opportunity to see them live because the band has either never toured there or has not come back for years. the experience won't be equal for everyone and it is ok to feel disappointed. understanding that this is a closing chapter for all of us is also understanding that every single emotion felt is valid.

but hey, new music this monday!! let's enjoy this ending the way it should be enjoyed |-/
