i think there's smth to be said abt the way wha manages to discuss child abuse in an extremely effective way via the whole teacher-student dynamic that's so integral to the series. one of the reasons it works so well is that it allows for kids to actually *leave* their abusive environment — and that emphasis on the importance of kids being able to freely leave and choose who they stay with is genuinely really important to discussions of real world child abuse too.
I feel like a lot of people get "All Art is Political" confused with "All Art is made with Political Intentions" which is not the same.
