my favorite love language is trying, actually
like when people try to learn your hobbies or try to play the same sports that you play in an effort to get closer to you, people who try to love you the way you love people, people who will go to places you want to visit just for your sake, people remembering, putting in an effort. just. trying
reblog if you love ao3 exactly how it is and you don’t want it to “update” or change in any way♡
ao3 is not changing anything by the way! some people just want them to change for some reason. my guess is that these people just don't understand how the site works and refuse to actually learn how it works, so they blame the site because it's easier for them that way.
you're laughing. i told you that shauna shipman is hannibal lecter's biological daughter and you're laughing.
happy PRIDE month !!!!! 🩷🧡🤍

alright I've got to do some quick math to explain attitudes towards AI to my boss.
we're looking to create an AI policy, and when we were talking about this, my boss (older millennial) was genuinely shocked to hear that younger people do not (seem) to view AI positively (a la the recent commencement speakers being booed)
please rb for larger sample size!
Question 1/3
What is your age, and do you feel AI is a net positive or net negative in our lives today?
under 18, AI is a net positive
under 18, AI is a net negative
18-29, AI is a net positive
18-29, AI is a net negative
30-45, AI is a net positive
30-45, AI is a net negative
46-60, AI is a net positive
46-60, AI is a net negative
over 60, AI is a net postive
over 60, AI is a net negative
Question 2/3
How often do you visit or interact with museums/archives (whether in person or online)?
Frequently (multiple times per month)
Often (multiple times per year)
Occasionally (a couple times per year)
Rarely (once every couple of years)
Never :(
Question 3/3
If you saw a museum was using AI in exhibits, marketing, research, etc., would you be more or less inclined to visit that museum?
under 18, more inclined
under 18, less inclined
18-29, more inclined
18-29, less inclined
30-45, more inclined
30-45, less inclined
46-60, more inclined
46-60, less inclined
over 60, more inclined
over 60, less inclined
Thank you for helping with this data collection. Please rb for as big a sample as possible!

I was debating where to put this, because honestly who cares what I think, but I needed to get this out of my head.
I think we need to re-normalize the idea of being a housewife/husband and appreciate how hard that really is.
Historically, being a 'housewife' was much more than taking care of children, cooking meals, and keeping things clean. For most of human history, it meant being the manager of the homestead in all practical ways.
The wife, yes, cooked, cleaned, and looked after children. But she also spun, weaved, sewed, knit, churned butter, made artisan cooking goods, sometimes made artisan other goods, managed the servants [if any], taught the children their basic education, managed the money [depending on timeperiod], went to market, kept the house inventory updated--thus often also paying the bills; managed social events and social standing, worked the kitchen garden [along with the children][also not the sold food, the stored and eaten food], and generally kept a lot of the culture through traditions, stories, and lessons.
Yes, it varied depending on culture, time period, and religion. I mostly draw from European tradition, as I am not versed in African, Middle Eastern, or Asian cultures. But I also draw from hunter-gatherer societies.
Hunters would, well, hunt, often gone for days at a times. During this time, the woman would have to manage everything else, and if that meant doing farm work, or heavy labor, or a 'man's job', she'd do it. That's why the Victorian idea of the frail woman was so odd, then and now, and really only limited to aristocracy who could afford servants to do all the hard labor for them.
But peasant woman of all ages have juggled so many crafts and skills its honestly mind-boggling. And yes, it took a village. People specialized. But it was something related to the home, it was probably done by a woman. Men focused on being the provider, i.e. leaving the home and bringing back the food [that woman cared for], the money [that woman cared for], or other resources [you get the idea.] The man didn't concern himself overly with the home, because he had his wife to do it for him.
And yes abuse happened. Duh. Bad people exist in all time periods and certain ways of life make this easier than others.
But when its row together or starve, its amazing what modern boundaries simply cease to exist. When dawn to dusk every member of the family was toiling, there's not a lot of time for being sexist--it really did come down to 'we need this done or we don't survive winter.'
....anyways, I think we need to re-educate ourselves on how fkn badass homestead wives really were, and really examine just how much luxury, idle time, and idle hands has really screwed the pooch on how we respect women.
WE HAVE DONE IT FORD IS PREGNANT
This was seriously so much fun. I loved waking up every morning to see how far we had brought the old man, and all the lore started from the results. I just want to say thanks for the ds9 fans for making the ending so fun and genuinely just being super cool!
Biggest thanks goes to @need-him-pregnant-poll, thanks for giving us something fun to be freaks over
Now I can’t wait to see who gets him pregnant
Every year Tumblr holds its sexy people contests. And as a result controversial figures around the world seem to die. I purpose we sacrifice Donald Trump for this years contests.
