not seeing a lot of people on here talking about ICE murdering another man yesterday. His name was Lorenzo Salgado Arajou. He was a Mexican man living in Houston Texas. He was killed at age 52 and lived the past 35 years here in the USA, and was in the process of obtaining a work permit. He was shot and killed during a traffic stop that ICE claims was part of a targeted operation, and claimed he was “weaponizing his vehicle”- the same claim ICE agents made when they shot and murdered Renee Good.
During the stop, Lorenzo had 3 coworkers with him in his truck who have all been taken into ICE custody.
His family described Lorenzo as a hardworking family man who didn’t deserve to be killed. All he wanted was to provide for his wife and see his sons become great people. His eldest son recognized his father by his cries and pleas when trying to identify who the victim was.
The Salgado Araujo family has set up a gofundme to help with funeral and legal costs, and to help keep their family supported since Lorenzo was the sole provider.

Hello person having transgender thoughts but convinced they aren't trans because they don't have the requisite amount of dysphoria they think they need
Hi I transitioned without even thinking I had dysphoria. Like later in hindsight I can go "oh that's probably what it was" but for the first year of my transition I was straight up like "I like being a guy but I like being a girl WAY more" and you can do that!! There is no prerequisite amount of suffering needed to make yourself happier.

It really annoys me when people say that trans men have privilege over trans women because “men of minority groups always have privilege over women of the same minority group”. Like okay but that’s cis people. That’s cis men. It’s entirely different for trans people??? Name me one privilege or benefit that trans men get over trans women that doesn’t require the trans man to be stealth.
i mean i can think of a few:
not getting specifically sex trafficked in prison to the point where it has a name (V-coding)
not being accused of being rapists constantly
being able to compete in gendered sports (including olympics)
lower suicide, rape, and murder rates which like could mean nothing if you assume trans women just love being raped and dying
all trans people are marginalised and we should support and uplift one another, but that doesn’t mean that trans women and trans men face the exact same issues or the exact same amount/intensity of them. and if pretending that we do is the only way to have a unified community then i don’t want that unified community, because it won’t be there to help when trans women are raped, killed, sex trafficked, and sensationalised as predators.
Hi! You make a great point on the fact that all trans people should help one another, but some of your claims seem to exist in conflict with the data I could find. A 2023 Trevor Project LGBT youth study regarding forced sexual contact found that trans women experiencing forced sexual contact was not more common than for trans men. In fact, trans men were 16 percentage points more likely to experience it than trans women.
2024 data also by the Trevor Project found that trans men had the *highest* suicide rates out of any gender category.
Also, the claim that trans women are murdered more is firstly, based upon data that did not account for under reporting, and secondly, specifically said it was mostly poor Black women. As I have seen Black women say, y'all erasing them while claiming their suffering is racist.

Also, please understand that SO often the real issue these people have is that they just want to say something inappropriate. They don't like being told they can't say "fag", so they'd say it for a reaction, just like a teenager would.
Shut down the conversation without reacting.

A lot of us were raised with the idea that “its normal for wives/children to get hit! it helps them learn– only white folk don’t get beaten when they misbehave”. That’s not true, white people aren’t the only ones who deserve a safe and abuse free environment. Black and brown people can and do have loving families.
If you’re in a situation where you are enduring abuse and people use your culture to justify it, I want you to know that what they’re telling you are lies.
as someone who studies this: statistically speaking, child abuse (including “spanking”, because all forms of hitting children are abusive) is pretty much equally prevalent in households of all racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds. so yeah, don’t let people use the “culture” excuse on you, but also, don’t believe others are experiencing it less just because it’s less normalized in their culture to talk about it. we all gotta work together to fix this shit.

look, shipping canon!aroace characters, as much as it pains me to say, is not wrong. I do hate it and will block you, but no personal hatred or harassment here.
The issue comes when people try and claim theyre NOT canonically aroace. Its fine to be like "This character is aroace but im making them X for this fic". Weird but fine. It is not okay to say "actually character is not aroace theyre actually X canonically idc about the source material". The second one is erasure, plain and simple.
Most important to address is the hypocrisies. IF YOU WOULDN'T DO IT TO GAY OR LESBIAN CHARACTER WHY ARE YOU DOING IT TO AN AROACE?
That needs to be addressed; do you value aroace people less? do you see our identity as less worthy of respect or acknowledgement? is there a reason you would change a canonical idenitiy when its an aromantic or asexual idenity, but you would loose it if someone shipped your favourite yaoi with a woman or yuri with a man?
