So I have seen some post blaming Hope for the destruction of the knife.  And yes Hope gave the Necromancer the opening to steal the knife, but for the love of the gods that knife had no protection.  Cassie just moved some books, grabbed the knife, and walked out.  And no alarms were raised.  No protection spells.  Hell there wasn’t even physical protections.  The adults just hide it behind some books in the library that anyone can access.  They also allowed Cassie to roam free knowing that the Necromancer could take control of her at any moment.

Like the Necromancer would have done the same thing even if Hope wasn’t there?? Just quicker?? Like Alaric KNOWS the dude can controls the dead and he let Cassie… just walk around like that???
