As you may have noticed Possum has remained overly long in a comatose state; not blogging, not wagging his beautiful tail, not even eating chocolate or rotten apples (almost). This state of affairs must be rectified!

Marsupial Christmas

Princess

Possums dainty paws and fathomless eyes have always lent him an air of rarefied feminine grace and mystique. Until his increasing fame recently brought him confidence however, he has always felt self conscious about how his figure and lack of cleavage appear in a dress.

Lecture Tour

As Possum’s notoriety on the intertubes has brought him an increasing amount of media attention he has decided to finally embark on a lecture tour he has long imagined.

O. Possum social media entrepreneur on promoting the discourse concerning marsupial emancipation in a complex and interactive environment – has been the working title used on notes and sketches.

As the events are planned to act as “safe spaces”  for marsupials who wish to air feelings of resentment harboured against the majority human society they live in attendees will be expected to adhere to a code of conduct. This important policy document was inspired by a handbook in social engineering for a better society Possum holds in high regard – it’s called 1984. Anyone who wishes to attend may wish to acquaint themselves with the material on double-think in advance to avoid unnecessary provocation, conflict and general lack of comfort.

Celebration

On the same day possum suddenly found he had 20 followers on WordPress (excluding his daddipozzum) and 100 followers on Tumblr, this is of course cause for celebration and jubilation.

Possum extends special welcome to his 100th follower on Tumblr – tinyscintilla, you have made possum a very happy and content internet marsupitrepeneur.

Possum finds marzipan, poscesse-style, cake suitable for most occasions as potential fragments of  confection sticking to his nose will blend nicely to considerable aesthetic effect.

Gaining weight

Possum has managed to hide it so far, but the strain is becoming to much for him, he has to talk about it. The truth is Possum has gained quite a lot of weight since he started his blog, this has negatively affected his self esteem and sex-life.

Perhaps the worst part though is that it’s made him lie to his friends, telling them he has something stowed away in his pouch (his pile of rotting acorns has been mentioned) while as a manpossum he in fact doesn’t even have a pouch.

Manpouch

Possum transgresses gender borders by assuming a certain characteristic of fempossums, their practical built-in storage unit. Not long ago, on a visit to Berlin, possum’s attention was drawn to the curious habit of the “ladies of the night” of said city to wear little bags on a belt around their hips. Tastefully, and presumably in a conscious decision to avoid appropriating and sexualising the marsupial identity, these ladies of negotiable affection generally signal their profession by wearing their bags on their backs, reversed so to speak.

Possum however feels entirely comfortable exploring his feminine side by wearing his newly purchased synthetic waist wallet on his belly.

Burgers

So possum hasn’t told you about his secret and sinful addiction has he? Well, there’s something about all the wrapping paper and bags that usually accompanies fast food that excites the animal instincts and sybaritic degenerate strain in Possum.

Indeed, unpacking a couple of BK’s Crispy chicken burgers in the comfort of your home can be seen as a foretaste of dumpster diving on the French Riviera (still one of the top ten items on Possums bucket list).

Indoor smoking

As the pleasing warmth of summer and autumn fade away possum feels a strong urge to start smoking in doors again, reviving his previous life of sin. And this is AFTER he put on loads of itchy human clothing not designed for marsupial comfort (damn specieist, humanocentric possopressors).

Possum looks weird ’cause Possum feels weird.

COLLECTIONNEUR

One of the many proofs of the high cultural status possum has achieved is his collection.

Possum has a special love in his heart for Swedish and Asian stoneware-ceramics, especially those with hare’s fur glaze. Their moss-like textures remind him of stones he used to sleep on when still an out-door opossum, though of course it’s not really the memories of sleeping (because such rarely form) but rather of his youthful transgressions conducted in his sleeping environment.

CONSERVATIVE

After his recent sojourn in the pop-cultural realm of vulgar and overtly sexual imagery, exemplified by his die antwoord cameo, Possum feels a need to root himself in a timeless tradition of political thought. Possum has thus enjoyed watching the original British version of House of cards and now considers a career as a conservative MP in Great Britain. He feels this would enable a combination of his long standing love for sazzy fempossums n’ dope and his intellectual interest in strategy and rhetoric.

THE BOW

Kawaii! Possum is wearing a bow on his tail!!!

Embellishing their extremities using discarded Christmas-decorations found in trash-bins is an age-old marsupial tactic employed by possums who want something (like more subscribers for their silly blog so they can feel important).

Thus adornments always serve a purpose, and a praiseworthy one at that! Possum gegen Adolf Loos: 1-0.
