manmademirage:
Mirage gave a small smile as he watched the smaller bot light up, he didn’t expect to spark such a reaction from him. His fingers tapped on the door frame as he watched him, seemingly on the verge of exploding from joy.
He suddenly leans back as Fletch leans forward, not really used to such eagerness and closeness, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t flattered in a small way. “U-um.. I’m a b-boy for fun, no real actual occupation” He pauses for a moment, almost as if trying to comprehend his next response. “I’m pretty sure I’m licensed.. or at least I think so, I remember Ana mentioning it once.”
Mirage finally takes a good look at Fletch after the ramble session, smirking for a second, before leaning against the door in a somewhat arrogant fashion. “So.. you’re not from the city huh? That’s interesting for a cute bot like you” His tone is completely different now, almost as if a switch had gone off in his programming. His audio seemed to emit from his speakers just a tad smoother than before.
“Also, I got my name for a reason. I’d show you why, but I’m not sure you’re a fan of parties” He gives a sly smirk, sticking his fingers in the pockets of his sweatpants in a laid back manner. Anxiously waiting for his response and hoping he hadn’t just come off as a weirdo or something.. gotta keep that cool dude demeanor bro.
Fletch showed nothing but enthusiasm and hyperactivity. He was so happy to have finally met another sentient bot. It wasn’t terribly uncommon, but he always struggled to make friends out of them. A lot of bots he saw were rogues living as escapees from their makers. It was nice to see someone who was living life normally. “That’s really rad!” Fletch bounced as he exclaimed. There was a moment of silence where he paused, holding onto the strap of his messenger bag. “I actually don’t know what a ‘B-Boy’ is,” he admitted only somewhat embarrassed. It sparked his interest more than anything.
Fletch was happy to have someone ask him about his experience, though he was taken back by the sudden shift in Mirage’s speakers. It caused Fletch to lean back just an inch with a tilt of his head before answering. “I technically was made in a smaller town outside of the city, but not too far out!” His excited tone made it back into his voice in no time. “I only came to the city about a year and a half ago! Pappy wanted me to learn more from lots of people.” Fletch smiled widely at the bot. He felt like he was on a path to doing his Pappy’s wish just by looking at Mirage. Seeing the difference in Mirage’s build made him truly realize how diverse the city and other bots could get. It caused a wave of excitement
“That sounds really cool! Having a story behind your name is really unique.” He was intrigued to think a bot may have taken their own name. “I was named, but I like my name!” Fletch tilted his head once more at the mention of “party” “Party? I like parties! Pappy says I make a good cake.” Fletch was proudly smiling, standing upright and tall despite being only shoulder height to Mirage.
