How to Print Postcards at Home (with templates!)
If you like the designs here, found others you like, or want to create your own – but you’re stumped about how to set them up for printing – here are some guidelines and free templates for you to use!
Paper Use card stock. The minimum thickness for a postcard, according to USPS, is .007" thick -- about as thick as an index card.
Alternately, you can buy perforated postcard paper from an office supply store or online. (I can't guarantee the templates below will work with perforated postcard paper, but you can probably download templates specifically for that paper.)
Size According to USPS, to qualify for mailing at the First-Class Mail postcard price, postcards must be: Rectangular. At least 3-1/2 inches high x 5 inches long x 0.007 inch thick. No more than 4-1/4 inches high x 6 inches long x 0.016 inches thick.
Most Postcards for the Resistance designs are 4x6 inches.
Setting up to print Download the template you need and open it in Word. for 4x6" postcards, use this 2-up postcard template for 4.25x5.5" postcards, use this 4-up postcard template
Right-click on the image and select "change picture". Select the image you want to use on your postcard. Click and drag at the edges to resize as necessary. You can add the same image to all four postcards or a different image in each one.
Print (always do a single sheet for a test run), cut, write, stamp and mail!
Still not sure about printing them yourself? You can have them printed by Vistaprint or Staples, but they have high minimum print runs. If you don't want 25 of the same postcard, check with your local print shop -- they might be willing to work with you on print minimums per design if you're still planning on buying a sizable number of postcards overall.
If you'd rather buy your postcards, there are lots of great resistance postcards on Etsy and many of ours and plenty of other resistance postcards are on Zazzle.

Remind your representatives that you want them to base their decisions on evidence, not blind faith, with this protest postcard! Write to Congress or send it to your favorite scientist. Postcard reads "Everyone please open your eyes and lift your heads for a moment of science."

The administration’s proposed 13% cuts to the Department of Transportation budget are a threat to public transit programs in cities across the country! Remind your legislators that cutting public transportation will have a big impact on real people who use buses, trains and subways every day with this postcard.

“Hope, and keep busy.” This quotation from Little Women is a favorite of mine. It would make a great thank you/keep it up card for your reps who are on the right side of history! Also a good card for a friend whose energy for the resistance is flagging. Download it here (free to print!) or buy it here.
In this context, it means "assuring that the basic physical and material needs of all people are met," which, like, actually kind of sounds like a GOOD thing! Dictionaries. Who knew. (You can PRINT or BUY this postcard.)
Postcard Action! ESPECIALLY if you’ve ever received “welfare” in the form of SNAP Benefits (food stamps), Medicaid/Medicare, housing subsidies, free lunch for you or your kiddos -- now would be a GREAT time to tell your legislators and the White House how those programs have lifted you up when you needed a boost.
