Hey Guys,

As some of you may know or remember seeing my posts about, in February this year, my Nan had a fall at her home and fractured her pelvis and a rib, as well as hitting her head on the bitchumen during her fall; and was thus admitted to hospital.

She spent five weeks in hospital and has only returned home a week ago. As you can imagine, she still experiences pain and discomfort due to her injuries and is on a lot of medication to help control these.

For the past month and a half now, I have been living at my Nan’s house, to both look after her dog Henery, and the house itself while she was in hospital. And, for the foreseeable future, this is where I’ll be staying until the family and the carers believe that she is able to live on her own once more. I do almost everything for her - administering her medication, cooking, cleaning, the hanging out of the washing, washing up/drying of the dishes, feeding and cleaning the dog, the gardening and so on and so forth. While she’s determined to be independent again, she also knows that she needs help, and that’s what I’m here to do.

Here comes the part when I get down on my knees to beg. With driving up to the hospital to see my Grandmother each day, as well as having to cross the entire town to get to my actual house to collect clothes and other bits and pieces, and to attend my community outreach program, a lot of what little money I had has been burnt up in fuel and living costs. While my car doesn’t need much, being run each and every day definitely does use up a lot of fuel each week, and anything else I had saved up has been going into my phone bill, food for dinner or lunch, basic necessities (such as ‘lady things’) or for a recharge on the wireless internet USB only when I can scrape together enough to afford it.

With April coming up so quickly comes another phone bill that needs to be payed, and also my car registration that will cost around $370. At this point in time, I’m barely getting by with my head above water. While my Nan and Mum are helping out where they can, they also have costs of their own to see to, and the settlement that we’ve been expecting to pass still hasn’t. On top of all this, my younger sister has moved town to attend University, so a lot of money was put out to help her get down there.

I don’t have a job despite all my efforts, and while I receive Government assistance fortnightly, there isn’t much leftover once I deduct all my other costs. I don’t want to ask for much, because I know there are a lot of people who are worse off than I am. But, I know it has worked for other people, so I thought that there would be no harm in trying.

Anything at all I get would be greatly appreciated, and while I don’t hold high hopes (because there are a lot more deserving people on the site) I really would like to thank anyone who donates, from the bottom of my heart.
