“Then you’re about to get the best help and the best company. Though I will serenade you quite frequently. You are a good mother. You don’t have to be anything other than you. Plus you have Mama Jer around.”
“You’re an angel, Jeremy, thank you. But first, you and Dani enjoy your get-away, yeah? By the time you’re back, Aurora and I will be all settled into our new place. And it has extra rooms so you and Dani can stay as long as you want. That’s.....we don’t know if I’m a good mother yet. You’ll have to teach me your ways.”
jeremy-wood:
“Are you kidding? Time with our favorite girls? Count us in. I can help you sort everything out and Dani really wants to sing Rory to sleep every night. What do YOU want, Ash? I feel like I don’t ask you that enough.”
“The help and company really would be nice....you two are welcome whenever for as long as you want. What do I want? I want.....I just want to be a good mother, whatever the hell that entails. Hard to think about anything else right now.”
profsebastian-nolan:
Was this worth everything? Him putting everything on the line, not being able to see his daughter as often because he didn’t know if he loved someone else? Sadly, yes. “I put you through enough shit and I’m sorry for that.” Sebastian said quietly as he watched the ring be set down on the bar. Their whole relationship had been a rocky road and he hadn’t apologized enough for it. But this was everything. An apology through the stuff when they were dating, for asking her to keep the baby, and now, apologizes for ruining the life they had both wanted at one point. His feelings for her were always genuine, that never shifted, but there were things he’d never expected to come back, feelings, emotions, fears…it was a lot. “Of course. I’m…I’m going to respect what you decide to do.” After everything it was the least he could do. Handing the control over to her, not fighting her on what she thought was best. It stung, but he knew he had brought this all on himself. Though it might have stung a bit more to know she had had a place, but leave it to Ash…someone who was prepared for just about everything. “I’m not going to give you a reason for that. I want what’s best for her and you.” Raising a baby alone wasn’t easy for anyone and if taking a step back and just letting her make some of those decisions was what she needed, he was going to do it. “I’ll always clear it by you first, I won’t just pop over unannounced and if you have things to do, I’m more than happy to take care of her.” He gave her a weak smile as his fingers reached for the ring, playing with it in his fingers. Two rings now and he was back where he started. “And if you ever need anything, you know I’ll do whatever I can to help.”
She was just glad he wasn’t fighting against the decisions she’d already made. Sebastian didn’t get to have everything his way and hopefully he was smart enough to remember that. She flagged for a second drink and downed it pretty quickly before turning to give Sebastian a brief smile. “I’ll put in a request with Thorn, assuming you’re returning to the school next term, that our quarters are near each other so that we won’t be too far from Aurora. I think he was still attempting to work out our class schedules so that we’re never both in class at the same time. It should....work. It’s all going to take effort but if we managed everything else, I’m sure we can manage this,” she said with a soft shrug. She set some money down off of the bar before hopping down off of the stool. “Good luck, Seb. I really hope you find a way to be happy,” she said, figuring she didn’t need to ruin both of their nights off by sticking around too long. There were plenty of places to go hang out and drink away the stabbing pain in her chest.

@potionsbyash
“Hey pretty lady. What are your plans for the summer? Because I was thinking maybe…if you and Aurora want…we can spend the summer together.”
“Oh, you know, just buying a new place and getting settled in with an infant while trying to work out a visitation schedule. I’m not sure you and Dani really want to spend time with that mess.”
profsebastian-nolan:
“You know, he likes babies…seemed to just pop in when I was taking care of her.” It was true, most of the time when he’d been with Gale it was when Ash’s classes had been going on and it was his responsibility to look after her. The only night he’d asked him to be with both of them was the night of the feast. Sebastian knew what she was saying was true and he wanted so badly for their family not to be split, but that was just wishful thinking. “I know we’re not going to be put together, I just don’t want us not working together for her, Ash.” He could live knowing they wouldn’t be together as a couple, but no matter what, at the end of the day, they were family because of Aurora. His stomach sank at the mention of just having a floo hooked up as a means of seeing his daughter, but his head gave a small nod. “Okay. That’s…that’s fair.” His fingers tapped against the glass for a second. “But I’m keeping a nursery at my place. Like I said, built in sitter, if you’re sick or I’m sick, there are places she can go. Once she’s not breast feeding, then we’ll go from there.” Ash would win over him, no matter what. She was the mother and right now, she was the one who needed to be with Aurora for at least the feeding part. “Until you find a place though, take the guest room? There’s no need to be bouncing around from friend to friend with our daughter when you have a room and her stuff right there.” It was him putting their daughter first, figuring it would be an easier transition for them to move out when Ash had a place to go to.
This was it. This was his last chance to fight, to try to keep their family going in the way they’d envisioned it for months now. But he didn’t and she couldn’t tell if she was hurt or relieved by it.  She wasn’t sure she’d ever be able to forgive him for any of this. They’d only moved forward with the pregnancy because he’d made promises that he hadn’t kept. She had never wanted to be a single mother, never wanted to be tied to someone for life that she wasn’t married to, yet here she was as she took off her engagement ring and set it on the bar before finishing off her drink and ordering a second. “We’ll work out a schedule that works well for both of us. I’m trying to pump ahead of time so you’ll have food for her when you have her,” she said, already having thought most of this through after their last few talks. “I have a place on standby. I’ll purchase it officially tomorrow and move in over the next few days. I’m happy to have joint and open custody unless you give me a reason not to. She’ll spend most of her time with me, however, until she’s a little older. You’re welcome over whenever you’d like, though.”
profsebastian-nolan:
He rolled his eyes with a small laugh as she sat down. When was the last time they even got to be out? Forget being together, but both without having to worry about some responsibility. “Rory…he calls her that. I swear, he’s the one we’re going to have to worry about stealing her one day.” Sebastian said as he shook his head. He took a deep breath, almost downing the rest of his whole beer before looking at her. “I don’t think we should get married…not when I’m still torn about Gale.” He knew there was no dancing around it anymore. “But, I don’t want us to raise Aurora in a broken home, or whatever the hell people would call it.” He licked his lips a bit nervously before he turned his stool to face her. “You’re one of my best friends and as a couple or just as friends, nothing is going to change the fact I love you, but you deserve more than me constantly seconding guessing myself. I want you to live with me, we have that spare room if you don’t want to share a room or bed with me. We both couldn’t raise Aurora alone right now and with two people in the house, obviously it lets one of us rest more and if we want to go out, there’s a built in sitter and now I’m just rambling so let me shut up for now.” He said before finishing the beer and signaling for another.
“He told me. Seems like he’s spent a lot of time around her recently,” she commented. She wasn’t an idiot. She knew Sebastian and Gale were together often and she knew that Aurora was usually there as well. It just hurt to think that the two of them had spent more time with Aurora together than she and Sebastian had. She was glad she got her drink, taking a large sip of it when Sebastian said he didn’t want to get married. She shook her head, however, laughing lightly at the shit he was saying. “You don’t get the best of both worlds, Sebastian. You don’t get to dump me but still have a solid and put together family,” she told him. “If you can’t commit to me, I don’t want to live with you. And that’s...nothing against you. But it’s something I need for my own sanity. I can find a place, we’ll hook our floos up so we each have quick access to Aurora. We’ll figure it out. But I can’t stay in our home if there’s not an us.” And maybe one day they could get back to where they’d been before as friends, but she needed space first. They both did.
profsebastian-nolan:
“That’s really not funny.” Sebastian sighed, bringing the drink up to his lips. He figured they weren’t that horrible of parents that they’d leave Aurora. But at the mention of Gale, he simply shook his head and let out a small laugh. “Leave it to him.” He took another large sip from his cup before looking over at his fiancee. “Yeah, he’s a pain isn’t he?” He said with a small smile on his lips. “We do need to talk, though.” He made a note to both yell and thank Gale for this. It was hard to have actual discussion when they were both more concerned about their daughter than whatever the hell was happening with them.
“I thought it was a little funny,” she shrugged before ordering her drink from the bartender, just excited to have pumped enough ahead of time to be able to drink for the night without worrying about it. “Honestly, I think he was less concerned about us and just wanted alone time with Aurora,” she laughed, remembering how excited he’d been to get Ash out of the house. “Okay,” she said, turning towards him on her stool. “So talk.”
profsebastian-nolan:
“Yes?”
“Oh, fuck. If you’re here, who’s watching the baby?” she asked, suddenly panicked as she walked up to Sebastian at the bar. She only played it up for a few seconds, however, before relaxing and giving him a smile. “Gale asked to babysit. Thought we should have a night to talk without the pressures of a baby or something like that,” she said before taking the stool next to him and flagging down the bartender. “Meddlesome friend you’ve got there.”

“It is pumpkin juice but professor if someones messed around with it; it’s technically not my fault for what i’m drinking here but thank you and sadly enough, properly gonna miss this place..’
“Don’t tell anyone I told you so, but I heard the pumpkin juice has euphoria potion in it. Just....so you know what you’re drinking and can make smart choices later,” she said with a gentle smile. “It’s not sad to miss this place. You’ve lived here for seven years, it’s the people who don’t miss it that I worry about,” she said honestly.Â
charlxtte-wood:
“Yes this is a drink of victory, now are you just gonna stare or your gonna drink with me?”
“Miss Wood, you know you’re not supposed to be drinking. But I’m going to blindly assume that it’s pumpkin juice and join you with a drink of my own. Congratulations on graduating.”
jeremy-wood:
His face lights up when he spots Ash, “The most beautiful mother in all of the world!” Jeremy exclaims as he wraps his arms around her, laughing hysterically at her witty joke, “You should be a comedian because that was fucking hilarious. Though imagine how fun it would be if I were a kite. No real obligations. Just…soaring, you know? Okay, okay. Putting the drinks down. Have you seen Gale? I bet he looks really beautiful tonight. I should go tell him and make sure he avoids the punch because it tastes good but it messes with your head. How are you? How is Seb? How is Rors?”
Her brows raised when Jeremy burst into hysterical laughter at her truly awful and not even that clever of a joke. She shook her head gently in amusement. “I’m only funny when my audience is high off of their arse, Jer,” she pointed out. “I haven’t seen Gale yet, no. You should definitely tell him how great he looks when you see him, though. Big ego-ed men love that shite,” she informed him, still secretly hoping they’d get together - both for Jer’s happiness and because it’d piss of Sebastian. “I’m....fine. Seb is thrilled about his house winning the Cup. And Aurora’s doing wonderfully. How’s Dani? Haven’t seen her in a while.”
mrmikhailrykov:
“Do you think it would be acceptable if I got hammered with you, hm?” Mikhail asked, looking longingly at a bottle of firewhiskey. “Or do you think I would get fired?”
“You’re definitely not getting fired. I think at this point, the Headmaster is more concerned about the students, not the professors who can drink legally,” she laughed.Â
jeremy-wood:
“Okay…is it just me or is this the BEST punch ever? This is my fifth one! I feel…like…you know how when you look at clouds and you think…I wish I could be in a cloud? I feel like that. You know. BUT graduation! I always hate this time of year. I mean I’m proud but I’m so terrible at saying goodbye.”
“Jeremy,” she said with a small laugh. “You wish you could be in a cloud because you’re high as a fucking kite right now. Put the drinks down, let’s get you some water.”
ellieechols:
“Being unsure it’s possible is better than being sure it’s impossible.” Ellie said with a grin. “I know it’s uncharted territory and I know there are risks involved, but I really would appreciate the help. The thing is… I never do well in Potions, or Transfiguration or sometimes even Alchemy, simply because I’d rather have a bad grade than be forced to work with animal products. But I really am good, at least, I think I am. And I want to learn, I just don’t feel like the avenues are there for me yet. I’m hoping, maybe one day… I can help create them so that they’re there for students like me in the future.”
“Nothing is ever impossible. There’s always a way if you’re willing to spend the time to find it,” she shrugged. Why tell someone to not pursue something if they had the passion to do it? “I think it’s admirable to not want to use animal products, honestly,” she said. Growing up with potions, it seemed normal to her, but who was she to question the way someone else felt? “Honestly? I’d love to help with this. Any pursuit of knowledge is worthwhile,” she admitted. “Have you had much success up until this point?” she asked, her focus moving to her seared off tie for a moment before looking back at her student.Â
profsebastian-nolan:
His free period was beginning as Ash’s last class let out and Sebastian wasn’t quite sure if she would even want to see him. But, he figured they should at least talk at this point. It had been almost three days since they’d been in the same room and said something besides “I’ll get her later” when it came to Aurora. He’d been thankful she hadn’t kept her away from him, but still not being around Aisling was starting to take it’s toll on him. He could barely sleep besides when he used the sleeping potions he had bought from the Scamanders earlier in the year. Yes, he was also still thinking about his whatever relationship with Gale, but he knew that no matter what, he had to get things back with her. As the last student filed out of the classroom, he wandered in with an arrangement of lavender, daisies, mint, mistletoe, and knotgrass. To most people, it’d look rather random and not “romantic”, but all the plants could be useful ingredients for potions. Plus, Aisling Pyrities was not flower girl unless they could be used further on. “I’m sorry about everything.” He finally apologized. He’d said it, of course, but this was the first time in three days that after all his thinking, he could truly, 100% mean it with his whole being. “And I miss you.” He looked like hell and even students began to notice. Of course Gale didn’t mind picking on him teasingly, something about him finally being the good looking one, but he didn’t even respond back. He knew how he looked and he knew how he felt. No matter what she decided, he knew he needed Ash in his life in some way, not this cold, distant relationship. Above all else, she’d been one of his best friends for four years and going from that to nothing hurt.
Ash missed Sebastian. She missed him so much that it hurt. She cried every time she held Aurora because all she could see were Sebastian’s gorgeous and beautiful eyes and she saw all the best of the man that she was very quickly losing. She managed to stay distant and cold when they swapped the baby back and forth, too stubborn to just apologize and beg for him back. He was the one who’d said he’d leave her for somebody else - why should she go crawling back to him? But still, as he came into her classroom with the most perfect bouquet of flowers and usable ingredients, she felt scarily close to caving. She shook her head at his apology. “No one should ever be sorry for feeling how they feel. I appreciated the honesty,” she admitted. At least he hadn’t lied to her - that had been the one good thing that had come out of their conversation. “I miss you too,” she admitted before closing the distance between them and collapsing into him, arms wrapping around his middle as she buried her face in his chest. Even if they didn’t get married, even if they didn’t stay a couple, she couldn’t imagine a life where she and Sebastian weren’t close. They’d been best friends for years and even if he ended up going to Gale instead of her, she couldn’t fathom losing that. “I miss your face,” she muttered. “I mean, not your current face because you look awful but.....actually, I take it back. I miss all your faces. I miss you holding me. I miss holding Aurora together. I can’t do this without you, Sebastian.”
rosiee-weasley:
Rosie strolled towards the front of the classroom as the class was dismissed, “I’ll be there at six, professor. I know my N.E.W.T exams aren’t until next year, but will O.W.Ls out of the way and no exams this year, well it’s never to early to be prepared, right?” she shrugged.
“That’s....very ambitious, Miss Weasley,” Ash said with a small smile, always loving the kids who actually gave a shit about their education. “Though, I warn you, we’ll be reviewing some things that have yet to be touched in your classes. I hope you can keep up so as not to pull the others behind?”
