“Yup, that’s me - the shitty Potter. I’m guessing it’d be a waste of my breath to ask how you’ve been?”
“I’ve been fine.”
“Nope. I am above that. But I saw people eyeing your face and I thought I should protect you.”
“Lily Potter, my own personal guardian angel. However can I repay you?”
“Should I accompany you you to your class Mr Potter?”
“You’re welcome to accompany me, but I’d rather it wasn’t to class. Class is so boring. And almost over anyway - showing up now would only distract everyone else from what they’re learning and I’m not nearly that selfish.”
“You were drooling. You’re sullying our already shitty name.”
“Nope, I’m pretty sure that’s your existence in general.”
“I think someone was planning to draw a dick on your face.”
“Was that person you?”
“Shouldn’t you be in class?”
“Probably.”
“That was a really good nap. Did you ruin it for a reason?”
“That’s a lie. There are several books in here that you are allowed to read.” Some people were against the Servus using the library. She didn’t have a definite view on it. Besides, it’s just books. There is nothing they can use inside of the library. “Do you want to enter the library or not?”
“Technically, it’s pretty frowned upon for us to read anything that aren’t our assigned texts,” he pointed out, though he read entirely more than only that. His eyes narrowed as he looked her over, trying to decide what her ulterior motive was with all of this. “What do I owe you if I say yes?”
“You got drunk with Malfoy? How did that happen?” She was definetly not using her inside voice. More like the trademark pissed off Weasley voice. “And no one is hurting me! I slipped!”
“He caught me with alcohol and I wasn’t about to hand it over,” he explained quickly. “But that’s not the point. You slipped? I highly doubt Malfoy would be concerned if he honestly thought you’d only slipped. You know you can always talk to me, right?”
Reporting to the detention chambers was these days less a punishment and more an unspoken bit of Eliana’s schedule–she was constantly getting in trouble without even doing much of anything. She believed her wrongful punishments were in an effort to deter her future poor behavior–but all she did sitting around in the chambers was plot out her next move. She was surprised to hear the door swing open, and lifted her head to see who would be joining her for the hour.
“Fancy seeing you here.”
Detention wasn’t really a rarity for him these days. Honestly, he got sent there for breathing the wrong way most of the time. People got insane power trips by sending a Potter to detention. He didn’t really mind it, though, It was an hour where no one could make him do stupid shit, an hour usually spent with people he got along with and thought along the same lines as. He was running a minute or so late, and as he ran down the hall, he hoped no one noticed. Barging into the classroom, slightly out of breath, he couldn’t help but grin at the sight of Eliana already there. “What can I say? This place is basically a second home,” he said with a laugh as he fell into the seat next to her unceremoniously, bag falling to the floor.
“I am fighting. I’m just doing it in a different way. I don’t expect you to understand.”
“Good, because I really really don’t. This is a dangerous game you’re trying to play - I hope you don’t end up losing yourself in the process.”
“I don’t kiss arse. And our name has nothing to do with any of this. I’m not surprised you can’t see what’s really happening, though, given that high horse of yours that you’re always on.”
“Are you kidding? This has everything to do with who we are. You’re throwing yourself around, doing everything they want you to do, when all they care about is having a Potter at their disposal. They’re not your friends, they’re not going to help you - they’re only going to use you. And instead of fighting for what’s right like you should be, you’re going along with all of it. It’s disgusting. We were raised better.”
“Who said I don’t want to talk to you? You’re my brother - I honestly don’t understand what your issue is.”
“My mistake. I only assumed that anyone who kisses that much Dominus arse wouldn’t really have time for me. Clearly our name means nothing to you.”
lilypot-ter:
“Because I hate detention?” And she was sort of afraid of Eliana right now. “Gods, no. The other day he healed me after – something. But that’s it. Why are you asking me that?”
“Detention isn’t so bad. Besides, you can’t get in trouble for being an innocent bystander,” he said with a grin that was anything but innocent. “Right,” he said with a nod after she mentioned being healed. “We may have gotten a little drunk together and he mentioned something. Is someone hurting you, Lily?”
“That doesn’t work.” She had tired that. Several times. Sadly, only studying works. “Would you like permission to enter the library?” Even though it went again every instinct in her body, she applied the method she and Michelle devised. Ignore the baits thrown her way, act superior.
“Obviously. It never hurts to be hopeful, though,” he shrugged. His eyes narrowed slightly at her question, unsure whether she was seriously offering or if it was merely some sort of trap. In the end, he’d be better off trying to sneak in later than ask a Dominus for anything, especially one of the Notts. “That’s alright. Not a lot of point in entering when I’m not allowed to read any of the books inside,” he answered easily.
“Right. Good to see you too, then.”
“Oh, don’t look so hurt. You don’t want to talk to me as much as I don’t want to talk to you. We have nothing to say to one another.”
“Makes sense.” she said with a hum, shaking her head a little bit. “Give me a heads up if you are planning something. I want to leave before that happens.”
“Why would you want to leave? You miss the show that way,” he said with a grin. Though, to be fair, there was no telling when his plans were going to actually come through. “Hey, have you been hanging out with Malfoy?” he asked suddenly.
