On the anniversary of Saint Vincent's rescue, tiny Dior was found as a severely injured stray on the streets of Puerto Rico. The assumption is that the was hit by a car, as so many dogs on the island meet the same fate, and left on the road. He is unable to use his rear limbs. He does have deep pain sensitivity but cannot mobilize. His anus was filled with maggots which proves he has been immobile for some time. X-rays prove that his pelvis is broken but his spine seems to be intact. He will need reconstruction surgery quickly to give him any hope of regaining motion and stability. Our rescue colleague, @pitbulls_rescue_survivors_inc, asked if NYBC could accept Dior into our program. We could not turn away from helping this poor, sweet fella.
