I believe S6E2 of supernatural is perfect for omega Dean propaganda.
I’m on a supernatural rewatch (technically I got somewhere into demon dean and never finished for whatever reason so idk if it counts as a full rewatch but whatever) and I do gotta say, as enjoyable as the first couple seasons are, season 5 is pretty great. That may be bias because I was interested in the show for Sam and Dean but actually started watching the first time for Cas (before I lost my place).
Anyways 2 notable moments are S5E14 (Sam clip) and S5E10 (Crowley clip):
I’ve watched clips of supernatural before rewatching and I think I’ve seen the Crowley intro clip maybe once and I’ve never seen the Dean and Cas in the background of Sam’s dramatic moment clipped before, and I’m talking in years of not having rewatched it. The show was still on like season 12 or something when I first tried watching. They seem highly underrated as funny moments, though the Crowley intro scene probably isn’t as funny in reality as it is to me.
Edit: Why was this flagged as mature content?? The kiss???? Lmao never had this happen before
Listening to the PHM soundtrack and Xenonite Contamination stuck out to me. As someone who went into the movie with no book spoilers/having not read the book, I personally didn’t recognize the “I can go home or I can save Rocky” as a “I can live or I can die to save my alien bestie” thing. Granted, the one spoiler for the movie I did have (besides Rocky existing) was that Grace had his own version of a “happily ever after” on an alien planet. Still, I think not really touching at all on the food supply issue, while better for the movie’s pacing, did sorta take away the clearer “if I save him I die” aspect of the sacrifice.
After experiencing plenty of book spoilers for things not covered in the movie, I do gotta say that Xenonite Contamination as a part of the soundtrack definitely gave the “I’m choosing to die to save him” vibes that I did not originally pick up on in my first watch of the movie. Like, learning the food supply stuff then hearing that song it kinda clicked for me I’d misunderstood the real meaning of that part of the movie on my initial watch.
On a separate note, the soundtrack for the movie is phenomenal and probably my favorite movie soundtrack because just by the song (usually without names) I can tell exactly where in the movie it is, something other movies don’t always accomplish in my opinion. Each song is unique, yet still possess important motifs that hold the soundtrack together. As much as I love other movie soundtracks, they often have one to three songs that stick out and the rest feel a lot like filler or background noise. I don’t doubt PHM’s soundtrack is like that to someone else since this is entirely opinion based and everyone and their mother who talks about the soundtrack brings up Time Go Fishing (she’s iconic, it can’t be helped) but I personally think PHM is the best soundtrack for a movie I’ve heard.
Tiiiiiny rocky now fit in ball >:)
Front view, back view, next to ball, and in ball
For those unaware, Mr. James Ortiz himself showed a pre-shorting rocky. Final product is less green than in the video of it BUT I wanted to add the little pearl bit he mentioned here:
Tiny Rocky and prototype Rocky for comparison:
In truth, I will likely be making a replica tiny little guy Rocky to permanently entrap in a ball (that isn’t squishy) to either be a keychain or necklace. Probably a keychain and I’ll scale him down even more for a smaller ball version to make the necklace and maybe earrings.
Tutorial/pattern
Next up: red/pink/brown little guy, blue little guy, planet Adrian little guy, smaller planet Adrian little guy, or Eridian Adrian little guy
(in truth blue little guy is 90% done and everyone but Eridian Adrian is just waiting for me to give them legs)
I’ve wrenched myself free and put the thinking cap on again and you’ll never believe this: Coltland Gentry Bloodymary SPN AU.
Colt as Dean (and a bit of Sam), Grace as Sam (and a bit of Dean), Court as John, Simon as Cas, Rocky as ??. Obviously not a 1-to-1 AU, but like the core is there.
Grace who was always the loud opposition, the strong-willed one who pushed people away, ran off to college. Option A) gets a career in his field, nukes it, ends up a teacher, then returns to hunting with Colt to find Court. Option B) still in college like Sam was, returns to hunting with Colt to find Court.
Colt who had to be put through the wringer as a kid because he hated hurting things (still does) and only really was able to get through it with the thought of protecting his brothers.
Court who tends to disappear with some sign to his brothers that he’s alright, but this time left none of that because he’s not sure if he’ll make it back from the hunt for what killed their mom. Court who raised the boys in hopes they’d never end up like their mother, who eventually sells his soul to save Colt’s life.
Simon, an angel of the lord, assigned to protect the brothers and through it all ends up deeply enmeshed with them.
Rocky who (maybe isn’t human but still) does occasional hunter stuff and tends to supply/help hunters (usually remaining faceless for privacy’s sake to protect Adrian). Rocky who meets Grace on accident while he’s separated from Colt, neither knowing the other is a hunter, and they both go through the whole “secret life” schtick for the other until Grace kills something to protect Rocky. I don’t really think any of the chars like Bobby or Garth etc fit perfectly with the more canon Rocky-Grace dynamic but like it’d be a crap AU without that dynamic.
Some shape experimentation for the little guys
I did not execute the weaving for the traffic cone little guy (Enoc) well, but I like the gangly little guy (Rusty) a lot. Definitely showed me I can remake Rocky without him going splat so much.
Next up, one of the following: Rocky remake, Adrian, red/pink little guy, and blue/white little guy.
Pattern/Tutorial
In case anyone’s interested, here’s a diagram for how I make the body of little guys like Rocky.
I know it’s not the most clean wire job, but I think the exposed wire kinda adds character and when you’re viewing them from further away they look better.
Personally, I find it easiest to start from the middle layer and use one end of string to do the bottom while the other end does the top so the extra wire can just be continuously tucked in and there’s no need for knotting the ends, but that’s a lot harder to diagram.
For the legs, it’s pretty self explanatory but diagram included anyways. Basically since there’s 6 spaces between beads with wire you could tie legs onto but with only 5 legs you have one “front” side.
Here’s a few different body shapes with how to pattern the body shape:
Example colored pattern:
Executed example here with the example shapes above.
For the ball, I used a couple different tutorials on making an icosahedron/d20/“geometric ball” from bugle beads, some picture ones and some video ones. I would recommend longer bugle beads, as anything past 2 stacked together for one edge will make the shape loose unless you’re using a very strong and thin wire (I myself prefer using stretch cord so I can squish it).
I’m open for questions and if you make a little guy please share! I’m sharing this mainly in hopes to see other people’s little guys, whether that be a Rocky one or an OC one.
Context
Fix the ball? Nah. Make one of my friends as an Eridian instead? You bet!
Meet Fillbert
The waving leg was totally on purpose and not an accident. He likes to wave. He’s a wavey guy. (Also yes the colors are fucked with in the pictures because they don’t show up on camera otherwise and I wanted some shots to show the purple)
Here’s a more natural look at the little guys.
Rocky Filbert friends hehe.
Next up is shape experimentation (though one little guy is not exactly a serious coloration lol)
Also in case it’s not clear I’ve dubbed these creations my little guys (self explanatory).
I’m chomping at the bit now, I’ve bitten the hand trying to take my little thinking cap oh no.
Imagine: classic bloodymary fic with Simon somehow appearing in the biodome, Grace and Rocky befriending him, Simon relaxing into the life he deserves and feeling happy. Then, whatever got him there takes Grace one day, bonus points for it happening in front of Simon and Rocky. Simon and Rocky refuse to wallow in grief, desperately working to figure out how to get Grace back. They build a ship with capabilities to go get Grace and come back. They get close enough with it to hear Grace calling for help, telling them he’s running out of time. They pull a Carpathia, going faster than the ship was ever meant to go, risking their own lives. They arrive in time to save Grace, and when Grace hears about what they did he scolds them. Simon just says, “the devil himself couldn’t stop us from saving you, why would the ship?” Or something like that.
Just the idea of Grace, who everyone positions as the problem solver of fics, to be the one in distress saved by Simon, the one always in need of rescuing in fics, who’s never been given the chance to save a life.
(Also Carpathia. Fucking love the Carpathia. Me and the homies fuck with the Carpathia)
I think I’d deeply enjoy a story about two cultures meeting for the first time and finding commonality in the braids of women on each side. Like at the end of the day, braiding is something women have done for centuries, independently developed yet still similar enough to recognize. Imagine seeing a French braid for the first time after a lifetime of box breads or vice versa.
It’d fit a kids story well. Two girls without a common language who see something they recognize in a stranger’s hair.
I just really like the idea of something women and people with long hair hold in common across the globe being a sort of joining force. Different but at the core the same.
Someone let me put on the thinking cap and get this: mermaid Grace who was wild born but caught young and put in an aquarium. He’s made peace with it, learned English and loves talking to kids on field trips. He’s a bit lonely as the only mermaid in the aquarium but he deals with it because there’s plenty of human caretakers and he’s respected and trusted by staff and visitors.
The question is: would Rocky just be a human guy in this scenario? Would he be just like a sentient octopus? Or would he be some mythological creature (to tie in with mermaids being mythological) like a Lusca or Bukavac? Or maybe just an octopus mermaid?
Bloodymary option: “rescued” Simon who’s been in illegal mermaid fighting rinks since being caught early on in his life (at an older age than Grace was, enough that he remembers his home clearly but still spent several years fighting for his life). He’s injured from his last fight and there’s a debate about if he can be released for his own safety/survival and that of any nearby mermaids when/where he’d be released so he’s kept in Grace’s recovery tank. Grace ends up going to meet the new mermaid cause like he desperately wants to meet one of his own kind and Simon thinks he’s getting prepped for his next fight and he’s gonna have to kill Grace. Somewhere in Grace yapping, Simon talks back a little but is actively trying not to so he doesn’t feel bad about having to kill Grace when they’re put in a rink. Several caretakers end up rushing over to try and shoo Grace away in case Simon decides to be violent or flips out, but Grace whines about wanting to at least talk to the only other mermaid he’s seen since he was a kid. Simon ends up interrupting to basically say “I don’t want to talk to the guy they’re going to make me fight” and that greatly upsets everyone. Simon is told “no more fighting” and after a lot of explaining is still reluctant to believe them but pretends he does.
QUESTION: What would some specific Eridian weapons be? I’m not talking nuke type stuff but like would their atmosphere mean no/different guns? Are knives useful in combat for them or would like their version of knuckle dusters be more practical?
I don’t believe any sentient society wouldn’t develop weapons against their own species no matter how idyllic Erid is usually portrayed as. They’ve gotta have their own version of murders and such at the least.
Comments or reblogs or whatever with input appreciated!
(Prototype) Rocky too big for ball. Sad sad sad (Also ball is unfinished and bad due to oopsie on my part)

Next?
Have I ever done 3d beaded animals/objects before? No. Am I attempting to make a tiny 3d Rocky? Yes. Do I have correct material to string the beads onto? No. Will I go get the correct material? Probably not.
Attempt 1 was a bust, I was overly cautious and stuffed the bead holes too much before I could get all his legs on.
Attempt 2 was also a bust in that I ran out of “thread” while attempting to attach legs and what I’m using to create him is not conducive with easily adding more material.
Spent 2 hours on the combined attempts (as in total 2 hours, not total 4 hours) before giving up for now to take care of actual responsibilities. If I get a successful Rocky I will add pictures.
Essentially, if this makes sense, I did 1 bead, on top 6 beads, on top 3 beads, on top 3 beads, with a leg between each of the 6 beads (excluding one spot to act as the “front”). Legs are 5-6 beads long, still trying to figure out what length I prefer.
For those interested in the initial unfinished attempts here’s both (with the green for the little spots I plan to use once I’ve got a base one done right)
Attempt 1:
Wasn’t tall enough, looked weird to me. Hated the splat look of the legs but didn’t bother thinking on it too hard. Hated the foot enough to switch how I did that for attempt 2.
Attempt 2:
Taller, more movie Rocky shape imo. That did mean I hated the legs a lot more for sticking out. Realized after this I could just attach the legs with actual wire instead of the “thread” I’m using for the body.
Attempt 3 shall be started shortly, so stay tuned!
Edit: using wire instead of the thread was a bad bad bad idea. Sure the legs themselves are posable but at the price being floppy where they connect to his body. Back to the leg drawing board.
Attempt 3 (AKA prototype) and attempt ball here

In practice
Ya know I just saw someone draw the red soulmate string and now I can’t help but think about the Petrova line in a universe where people can see a red string between them and their soulmate(s?). Like to certain parts of humanity it would seem like a red string of fate between Venus and the Sun, meaning what happens is meant to happen, even if humanity dies. Eva Stratt would be an even more controversial figure for trying to “cut a cosmic line of fate” or something.
To add an extra layer, imagine soulmates can be strictly platonic, so even those who never feel romantic love can have a soulmate. Now, imagine an outcast from his peers, pre-Stratt, Dr. Ryland Grace who has whispers in his former academic circles about having a red string that goes to the stars. Grace refuses to talk about it with anyone, making him even more of an outcast. Stratt doesn’t give a shit, for all she cares Grace could have a red string with Pluto. So Dr. Grace with the rumored cosmic soulmate, works with Stratt to cut a cosmic red string. I imagine Grace eventually opens up to Stratt willingly about his string, admitting it does go off into the sky most of the time. He admits it was part of his thesis on non-water based life. He talks about how it makes him feel like a freak, but he can’t help but hope they’ll one day come to Earth so he can meet. Stratt is vague in responding but she’s well aware of the implications of Grace’s string. It all the more settles her decision to send Grace to the stars when things go wrong, even as he pleads not to and that he’s scared.
Because, if his soulmate is among the stars, maybe Grace will meet him before he dies. A small part of Stratt could even muse that maybe, just maybe, Grace wouldn’t die in space.
Ya know what I’m not done.
Imagine Grace seeing Rocky’s ship for the first time and seeing his string heading straight towards it. Imagine Rocky’s ship during the chase sequence and Grace has the internal turmoil of “what if my soulmate tries to kill me?” Imagine Grace seeing Rocky for the first time and his string is connected to a little alien claw. Imagine finally getting the language barrier mostly resolved and trying to ask about the string and find out Rocky can’t see it. It’s intangible, a visual thing not able to be physically felt (outside of maybe a slight pressure on the finger it’s attached to) and Rocky has no eyes to see it. Rocky tries to ask more about it but Grace refuses to until they get significantly closer (at which point there’s the conversation of “Rocky already mated Adrian” and Grace has to explain platonic soulmates).
There’s a vague bloodymary version of this in my mind but that’s for later (or maybe never).
