This is my newest project, I took a vintage jewelry box and retrofitted it to create a victorian/ art nouveau room box. I currently have it for sale on my Etsy shop, I hope you all enjoy!

Been working away at this lil house box since last December and finally finished it up this week! I’ve been meaning to make a natural history themed room since watching Missing Link last year. Another influence for the feel of this box is the Night Circus book by Erin Morgenstern - it made me decide on the black, white & grey colour scheme for the exterior mainly but also influenced the style of the box a little as well.

Everything was handcrafted from scratch, with the exception of the two little frames that the bugs are in - those are premade necklace blanks that I painted gold. The floor is made from tiny paper tiles that I painted, laid & varnished and the light sconce on the wall actually works :) (you can sort of see the glow in the first pic).

This box is currently not for sale - but if I do change my mind, I’ll update that here :)
