Start of Comp Prep my 1 RM Bench was about 110kg end of comp prep it was 90kg and now my raw 1 RM is 135 kg This video is of a 150kg bench utilising the Sling shot to build up my strength This is a tool that has helped me build up my bench which has always been my weakest lift due to shoulder dysfunction because of a past injury in my left rotator cuff and multiple shoulder dislocation on my right side. I haven't posted much in a while as I've been feeling pretty crap about my weight rebound and a badly injured back at work. My goals are to become a more well rounded athlete and improve on my weaknesses. When you are trying not to be weak but your MRS doesn't understand. Pre-Comp 90kg 1 RM now a couple of months later big bounce back in strength with a 130 Kg 1 RM. Chest has always been a weakness of mine after fucking my shoulders with footy and work injuries. Thanks to Body Align Massage and Chiropractic I can start making some gains 😃
My all time favourite set of Dumbbells... why? Because when I started this was all I could bench. I had shoulder disfunction through repeatedly dislocating my shoulder and clavicle on my right side... I was also fresh out of hospital with a brain injury (haemorrhage) and my motor co-ordination was terrible. I lost my balance standing, walking, lifting and forget about elevators and ladders that shit just was not manageable. It was a long time ago when this was a challenge to me but whenever I pick these suckers up I remember how hard it was to walk in a straight line, do a push up or stand up in an elevator. There's always going to be an obstacle to crush between where you are and where your going. One of the photos from my first comp. I really didn't want to go in to it half assed and I wanted to do a comp that would have a lot of awesome competitors. So I decided to do the INBA VICS. I may not have placed but I really stepped out of my comfort zone as I am a very shy and typically unconfident person and so getting on stage was very daunting. Back on the meal prep life. Post work out is when I consume most of my carbs to refuel as well as it feels like a reward for kicking ass... My go to is oats, protein, fish oil, drop of honey and today I had 150g of chicken as well as a late start to the day for me... night shift can be a headache to work around with partitioning meals etc but you've gotta do what you've gotta do.

After a couple of weeks taking it easy on training and enjoying my food a little too much on holidays I'm ready to get back on the grind. Still working on building up my metabolism but feel my strength, fire and endurance returning. I love reading and applying new principles to my training and nutrition and so I've used some principles from this text as well as several referenced studies I have read through Biolaynes videos/articles. Excited to get back to training with purpose and feeling strong again... I won't be competing again until I get to the point where I don't have much fat to cut and my maintenance calories are nice and high. No placing for me this time round but having dropped 20 kg's in 16 weeks to get to where I am now I'm proud of what I have achieved and experienced and know this is the worst I'll ever look on stage.
