tfem reese is Everything to me .. so i thought id make a postcanon design for her !! ^^ if you wanna hear my thoughts on her, im gonna yap under cut:)
firstly ☝️i wanna yap about the design.
i dont think reese would go on hrt.. not immediately, at least. itd definetely take time. my reasoning for this is that im not sure shed trust that theres nothing harmful in medicine prepared for her by someone that she doesnt even know . sure, coorporations have regulations, but who knows if theyre actually following them !! her trauma combined with the (typically) longterm nature of hrt dont rlly pair well imo. i also think shed have Feelings about potentially looking like her mom . one day, tho, maybe .. !! a treat for old lady reese!
i tried to consider what kind of changes reese might make in her style/appearance. im not sure shed change her style all that much, so i just put her in clothes i think shed find comfortable! my friend recommended a band shirt and i think that fits really well - she has a few health songs on her playlist, after all..! other than that, itd be cute if she grew her hair out, imo :) tho i dont think shed ever grow it out past her shoulders. itd get in the way .. But also shed be very pretty so who knows. heres the specific shirt i chose for her . also kaneeka painted her nails
her having her beastly features on display is meant to be representative of her being more comfortable in her body now !! ALSO itd be neat if she put on more weight now that shes not being starved. no more skin and bones
ok !! now onto my thoughts on tfem reese as a whole
starting off: Does She Know? i think she does, but she doesnt see the point in doing anything about it (precanon, at least). shes gonna die soon, anyway. why even bother with figuring all this out? who knows how her mom would react ? etc . but then she doesnt die. she has to face this. but she wasnt prepared for this!! she never thought shed have to - that shed get to do this !!! what now . i drew a thing about this :)
other than that, theres the obvious, like... a big theme with reese is lack of autonomy. not being allowed the dignity of risk. so, her transitioning would be a neat way of her asserting her autonomy !! shes her own person !!
while this next point also ties into my post about how dr kellys treatment of reese reminds me of the way that people with cluster b disorders (and other stigmatised mental illnesses) are treated. which is similar to how transfems are often treated, imo - theyre villanized, automatically declared dangerous just because they exist. like ive already mentioned, reese shares these themes..!!
also smth smth ep5 reese wants to Protect mc. she wants to live up to their Idea of her. its late so im really not sure if im wording this right but abby howards made a post or two about this iirc? like, matricide!reese wants to come across as Strong (and similar adjectives ..) to mc. shes putting up a front. AND ☝️a part of that front is her being more masculine in this ep than 3 and 4. im stumbling over my words rn but You Get It and if you dont uhh ummm scuttles away
a lot of this is very angsty but. take my hand. kaneeka helping reese find her fashion sense. ok? stella <3 shed be so supportive i just Know it. i feel like plenty of people already hc avery and reese as friends, and this adds onto that, i think. they can bond!!!
if reese makes it through the week, shes gonna have a harddd time settling down. she has no highschool diploma (iirc? i headcanon it at least..), no work experience, nowhere to stay, no money... but!! depending on how You help the characters get through the week, she'll have people to rely on ! people that care about and support her !! ok !!! i wanted to end this on a good note ...
