this is my suggestion
When we say "organize" this is what we mean. There is most likely an existing organization near you that you could join. If not, start one. Start a local chapter or a national org or fully start your own thing, if you're feeling extra ambitious.
Isn't it such a funny COINCIDENCE how we got this diarrhea virus on our fruits and veggies after RFK jr, a well know idiot , was out in charge of our FDA or whatever the fuck? After he told us to eat ONLY MEAT suddenly all our fruits and veggies are gonna give us diarrhea!! What a weird COINCIDENCE!!!!
I'm gonna say it, I do think that even the laziest person imaginable should have a roof over their head, food in their stomach, and access to healthcare
this is my suggestion
How do you find groups in the area? Like, searching "[insert state] anarchy" and seeing what pops up or something? I tried to look up unions in my area too but sometimes it feels like search enginges are purposely censoring them out. It's really hard to find if you don't have a specific name.
i might suggest trying a few different keywords (anarchy, anarchist, socialist, leftist, mutual aid, etc), it could also be a local chapter of a (inter)national group, or maybe find your local punk scene because there's often a good amount of overlap there, also checking out bulletin boards for events especially in places like the library and some artsy local businesses
strong suggestion for people to reblog with groups they have joined in their areas and/or how they found it
Join your local DSA. You don't have to be a socialist. They're doing a lot of good work. I'm doing mutual aid through my local DSA. You can also try looking into LGBT organizations, see if you have a local Food Not Bombs, and go to local protests and see who you meet there!
Maybe next time I try it it'll be good. 😭
My harshest critic.
I don't know if he likes it.
I made a collage.
I have a neighbor in her late 80s who I have lived next to for the past 4 years since I bought this house, that I have to re-introduce myself to every time she spots me outside. She remembers that I am her neighbor but cannot remember my name (unless she's talking to my partner, in which case she does remember my name but not his).
She has a truly ancient tiny dog whose pastimes include shitting on my driveway and picking fence fights with Fenris. Occasionally she will ask me to do his nails and he's actually wonderful for them so it takes like 3 minutes tops. She also will usually hand me whatever bill she has in her wallet for it- sometimes it's a 1, once it was a 50, usually it's like 5 bucks.
Now I have tried refusing her money and even gave the 50 back and wouldn't accept it. I then came home to the $50 bill taped to my back door the next day after work. So, you know, I'm kind of stuck accepting whatever she tries to give me because she WILL tape the money to my house somewhere otherwise.
(Once she gave one of her granddaughters a gift that required batteries and was distraught that it didn't come with any. Knocked on my door to ask if I had any. I haven't used my spare batteries in ages so I just gave her a whole pack. Refused to let her pay for them. Three days later a pack of batteries plus ten bucks was taped to my door. So this is not an uncommon occurance.)
Anyway this time she didn't have any money to pay because we're all fucking broke as shit on this block and she was really upset because his nails were starting to curl and once again I did them in like 3 minutes and when she apologized for not being able to pay me I just waved her off and told her not to worry about it.
I came home on Monday to my backyard being totally cleared of winter debris and the growing collection of winter dog shit as well as my fence repaired in two of the places that broke when the tree fell on it. I texted her adult son whose number I have and he confirmed he did it because he was happy that I helped his mom out with her dog. I tried to explain that it really does not take a lot to do the dog's nails but he similarly refused to hear it and said he'd be back in a few days to finish fixing the fence.
Idk why I thought he would be different from his mother. But I guess I get free fence repairs for the price of doing an old lady's dog's nails once every couple weeks to months.
happy 4th of july ! :’)

I made these tiny frog earrings. My friend 3D prints these tiny frogs for political events and stuff. I made them into earrings. I love them so much.
And it’s worse than you think. This is my personal experience in jail. It isn’t unique, and you can watch The Alabama Solution if it seems exaggerated to you.
I was given a damp gym mat to sleep on and put in a room with 16 bunk beds and at least 42 people. The lights were only partially dimmed at night. There was one shower, two sinks, and three open toilets. There were no utensils: people ripped off part of their trays to scoop up food. You didn’t get to leave to eat.
For an hour a day, they passed out tablets. Inmates could use apps to talk to loved ones or play games. All of which were very expensive. I never saw a lawyer. I was put in a room with a cop and spoke with a judge on a TV screen. I was charged with driving without insurance, an expired tag, and a failure to appear in court. I was convicted of an expired tag. And I was lucky that my stay was only three days. Because people had been in that room for months waiting to go to trial.
They make people beg to work at KFC.

People think I'm exaggerating or being dramatic when I say slavery was never abolished in the US, it was just moved to the prison system. It's not dramatic. It's not an exaggeration. It's very literally what happened. Slavery is thriving in the good ol U S of A. Absolutely thriving.
i have a suggestion
Is your landlord invading your privacy? Is your apartment heated inadquately? Do your utilities keep getting shut off because your landlord isn’t paying? Have you been trying to get them to repair your dishwasher for five months and they won’t replace the spray arm part even though it’s visibly broken?
You’ve heard of employee unions using collective bargaining to force the bosses to provide better pay and better working condiditions. But did you know if you rent an apartment in an apartment complex, you can do something similar?
It’s called a Tenant Association, and it’s basically a union for renters.
Here’s an overview of the why and how of forming a tenant association
Here’s a more thorough organizing manual
When it comes down to it, you and your fellow tenants are the ones paying your landlord’s salary. Go remind them of that.
Some of my friends are getting involved in tenant organizing. It's not relevant to my homeless ass but very important to pass on.
