You. Here. Now. || Wesley&Elisa
Wesley watched her carefully, a little bit afraid to move her hands from her eyes. He didnât want to upset her in any way and also knew that it helped. For some strange reason, covering your eyes made the world seem to disappear and for that split second, nothing seemed so bad. Reaching out, he gently pushed hair away from her eyes, âHey hey, donât think like that, honey. Who couldnât like you? I think they would care if you chose a chipmunk, especially because I hear theyâve got a pretty hard bite. Elisa, youâre one of the sweetest people I know and quite honestly my favorite here. Youâre the only one I trust.â After he said that, he didnât flinch and it made him feel slightly strange that he trusted her so much. But he loved the way it felt. He loved the way it felt to give someone his heart. He hoped she felt the same way. As he continued to draw circles on her arm, he listened, still smiling at her. Raising his eyebrows, he shook his head, âDonât worry about him. Guys like that arenât worth your time. When they realize how beautiful a woman is, youâll already be taken. I donât want you to regret it.â He pursed his lips and looked up at the ceiling, âWell, we can talk about it? Talk it out and see what happens? Or, you can go on dates with them and Iâll spy for you.â Wesley laughed at the thought of spying on her in a ninja costume taking notes. It sounded quite fun, but he didnât want to intrude on anything of course.
A soft smile slipped across his face as she said his name. He knew she cared about him a lot and to know that his name was the first made him feel even better. He rubbed his thumb across her cheek and chuckled, âThatâs because Iâm the best friend youâve ever had.â Watching her was difficult. He could see the strain in her face, making it hard for her. He hated how hard it was, hated how much pressure this was putting on her. Elisa didnât deserve anything like this. âHe became your center? Thatâs beautiful.â He stated, looking down at his hands. But as she continued to talk, hearing her talk about Bryce. Wesley had never been in these situations before. Heâd never had to choose between two people and wasnât entirely sure what he was meant to help her. But he would do anything he could. âThereâs a saying that says something along the lines of, if you fall for a second person while youâre still in love with the first, you never loved the first one in the first place. But Iâm not sure if thatâs true or not.â He shrugged and looked down at her, âIt has to be the one that doesnât make you feel terrible for choosing. The one that when you do choose, you know that no matter what, youâll be happy.â He ran his hands through her hair, trying to calm him down.
When Elisa turned to face him, Wesley swallowed hard. He knew she knew that he hadnât been sleeping. He knew that she knew he had insomnia. The only thing she didnât know was exactly why. There was so much running through his head and so much he couldnât bear to explain to people or let them in on. But her, looking at him like that, caring so much, he bursted. âYes. And no. She was so amazing. I really cared about her. I actually started the kiss and it got heated and I wanted to⊠you know, eventually. Iâve never really thought about that. But sheâs gone now and I canât help but think itâs my fault, that thereâs something wrong with me.â He swallowed again and looked up at the ceiling, trying to fight back the tears, âI started thinking of my dad and my mom and how I couldnât keep them happy. I just canât sleep anymore. There are so many stupid words in my head. I just want a week where Iâm happy, where nothing can hurt me. Why is that so hard?â He asked, turning to face her, tears trickling down his face.
Elisa sighed deeply, feeling the weight lifting off her chest little by little as all the words came flowing out of her mouth. It was good to have someone to talk about, someone so close that would listen to everything at any time, and even though now, when it seemed that coming to Crystal Lake was probably the worst idea she'd ever had, Elisa was glad she'd gotten to meet Wesley. For a minute, the brunette wished they could be just the two of them alone in the camp. No romantic issues, and just... love and understanding, but now that there were other things in game, neither of them could do anything to change it. "I don't know if it's true either... I don't think I've ever loved someone âthat way, I mean," she explained, implying she loved Wesley with her words. Â "And I don't think I love any of them... not yet, but I could. I think there's something true to that, though... I don't know," she shook her head, letting out a desperate laugh and finally letting go of another big part of the weight over her. "I don't think it's about choosing the one who'll make me happy... I mean, it is. But I know both of them would, and it's just... I don't want to look at them and think about the what ifs... you know what I mean?" Elisa propped an elbow in the bed and turned her body to him, finally looking at him and seeming already relieved at least a bit.Â
She knew that same look on Wesley's face from her own reflection each morning. The dark circles under his eyes and the shaky hands were the biggest telltales, but there was more things that gave him away just like the gloomy tone on his voice that was the thing that worried Elisa the most. She didn't know Aubrey was gone, which also hurt her given that she was Elisa's friend, but she ignored that, giving Wes her whole attention, frowning and looking at her friend with chiding eyes. "It's not your fault, okay?" She hold his gaze, making sure he believed her. "It's not. Aubrey left... I don't know her reasons, but that doesn't mean it's your fault, and hey... you can't make everyone happy..." Elisa caught a tear halfway from his eye to his jaw and wiped the trail of another one in the other side. "You have to learn that, and then you'll be happy. Then everything will get better, and... hey... for what is worth, you make me the happiest here, you know that? I never had any... well, any uninterested friends until you, and this is seriously the best thing that's ever happened to me. I promise," she smiled softly, barely reaching her eyes but she tried her best. "Even more than Bryce, or... any other guy." Neither of them were at their best and that was clear, but Elisa wanted to make sure, just like Wesley had done right before her, that he had her until the end of time.Â
Return of the Wild || Open
Eloise grinned at the girl âIâm guessing Tyler since he high-tailed it out of hereâ she laughed âBut then again, no one ever really sticks with me too longâ she scratched around in one of the cupboards and found the booze she was looking for. She turned on her heel to the girl with a devilish grin. Truth be told Eloise had  soft spot or this girl. She found it easy to spend time with her, more so than most in fact. âOh iâm definitely good at convincingâ she walked closer, poring her a drink without breaking eye-contact and then leaning in she placed the glass on the table âFor youâ
"Guess the worst punishment for you will be me sticking with you, then?" Elisa raised an eyebrow, smiling and doing absolutely nothing but seeing him move closer with the bottle in hand. She wasn't a lonely drinker. She didn't like drinking unless there was a reason or a motive to it: a celebration or something to cry about for example, and even though there was none in the moment, she could not say no to her offer. Her eyes hovered from the glass to Eloise's in less than a second and bit her lip. With a playful smirk, she took the glass and downed it in one go. The burn in her throat was almost harsh, but she did not cringe. She ran her tongue over her upper lip, taking all the liquid left there and smirked at her. "It's going to take a bit more than a shot to convince me, sweetheart."
As his fingers continued to dance along keys, his mind seemed to clear and he seemed to be at peace even if it was for just a moment. A loud crash seemed to pull Bryce from his music. Whipping his head up, he saw the embarrassed face of a familiar friend. âSorry isnât gonna clean it up, now is it?â Bryce voice was harsh, trying to convince the brunette that he was actually angry, but there was no way that Bryce could ever be mad at Elisa, something about her just brought Bryce to a state of happiness. âWhat brought you out here?â Bryce cocked his head, watching the motions of Elisa.
She could feel her face getting even warmer as his eyes fell on her. Elisa let a strand of hair fall over her face in attempt to cover her embarrassment as she recovered her breathing. "Yeah. Uh, no... It's not," the girl let out a dry chuckle as she crouched, trying to pick up all the pieces from the floor. There weren't too many small pieces, which made the work easier for her. "Me? Well, I..." Elisa tried desperately to find an excuse, but there was none. "I heard music. It was different music than usual, so I... naturally came here," she stated as if it was obvious, looking up at him confidently even if it lasted just for a couple seconds. A bad move, caused by the male distraction, suddenly made her feel a sharp sting on her palm, bringing her back to the real world. She looked down to see a small red line across her hand. "Shit," she mumbled. "I better go get a broom," she smiled lightly before standing up. "I'm sorry I interrupted you... You... go back to your thing."
Return of the Wild || Open
"Guess whoâs back?!" She grinned, chucking  her jacket and keys on the kitchen table. Her hair was windblown and wilde and she looked a little worse for the wear, but her eyes were sparkling with excitement of what sheâd just been threw "I say we celebrate" she brushed her hair back and looked to the person with a grin "How âbout it?"
Elisa stared at her, impressed but appearing completely unsurprised, stirring some hot liquid that could be tea or spiked coffee âsomething she'd picked up from Eloise, actually. "Well... Guess who didn't want you back?" She said in a shallow tone, topping her expression with a raised eyebrow. Elisa couldn't hold it back any longer though. Eloise had become her best friend and seeing her around the cottage again brought back a little hope she still had in the place. "You're going to have to convince me, darling..." Elisa's smirk became a wide grin that reached her eyes, making them shine with excitement and joy for seeing her friend back, even when her voice wasn't matching her expression.Â
Brooke laughed as she looked at the female before her. So people did actually exist in this cabin, had been her first thought once seeing her. Taking in the options she couldn't help but let a small chuckle escape her lips. " How would I ever choose " She joked around for a moment. Although she did have to bring her things to her room. Once she figured out who she was rooming with. The ink on the papers handed to her had been slightly faded. Nobody believed in changing cartridges anymore. " I can't seem to figure the layout of the cabin, I would love to find my room. Hopefully meet the ones I am rooming with " She smiled softly. " I'm Brooke, by the way " She folded the papers in her had. " And you would be? "
Elisa leaned against the handrail, her hips being the only thing touching the wood and waited for a response from the girl with a smile on her face. Her eyes were observing, trying to take in every single detail of the new girl, and subconsciously, trying to figure out if she was going to be competing against her and her plans or just living under the same roof. Eventually the thoughts went away when she told her name. Elisa smiled back and shrugged, motioning with her head upstairs. "I can help you with the layout, and... showing you to your room. It's really not hard to walk around this place," the brunette started towards the rooms in the second floor of the cottage. "Do you know which room will you be staying at?" She asked, not even knowing anymore which rooms were busy or taken. "Oh.. I'm sorry. I'm Elisa, one of the last survivors of this place," she said with a roll of her eyes. She didn't mean to scare the girl, but it had felt like that since a few weeks back.
My Arrival.
" Okay, I can totally do this " her voice seemed to be the only one that filled the room as she entered into the cabin they would all be staying in. She was just arriving, better late than never. She hadnât met anyone on her little walk to the front entrance nor had anyone been in the hall. She wasnât sure where anyone had been. Not that she knew any of them. Maybe Jason killed them all she began to think as she poked her blonde head further in letting the door slam shut behind her causing her to jump a bit.
She set her bags down as she was able to take out the listings of the rooms she was given prior to coming here. She needed to figure out where her room would be located and if she had any roommates. She didnât think she could sleep in a room here all alone anyways. This place was the definition of a death wish.
The sound of footsteps coming from the front door took Elisa out of her daydream. It was easy to lost herself inside her own mind when she had a book to read or a pencil to doodle in one hand, but the sound of people sounded far more interesting as each day passed without anything new happening. She left the room with light steps as she came down the stairs, facing the front door, finally taking in a new person just standing in front of it. A new girl. A short breathed laugh left her lips at her mumble. "Do what?" She asked curiously. "Hook up with strangers, get a date or move all those things to a room?" Elisa smirked, giving her the three logical options she could see, judging by the scene in front of her.Â
Bryceâs fingers dance along the keys of the grand piano. The piano had been his peace when he was growing up, whenever he had a hard day playing the piano had a way of relaxing the brunette. The melody was Drops On Jupiter. Everything else in the world seemed to fade and all he could think about was the next key to follow.
Elisa heard music playing from the piano in the main living room. It was something odd to hear. Conversations and random music played from the iPod dock were the usual, but piano? Even if the song hadn't been known for her, her attention would have been caught anyway. She left her room making the least sound possible, not wanting whoever was playing to stop. Slowly walking into the living room her surprise became greater. The man seemed far into his fingers playing the next key, and even though she couldn't see anything but his back, Elisa recognized him in a heartbeat. A smile crept up to her face, and bit hard on her bottom lip to stop it from becoming a foolish grin. She propped a hand on a table right next to one of the walls, trying to steady herself as she felt her knees tremble, but it wasn't enough. She was so distracted that did not see some kind of jar on the table, and right when she put a hand on it, the ornament fell to the floor shattering into a hundred pieces. "Sorry..." she mumbled, shutting her eyes tightly feeling more guilty about making him stop than about the broken jar.
Automatically turning his head to the familiar voice, Trevor laughed loudly at the name calling as he shook his head. âFunny face?â He asked, trying to fake a serious tone, but his wide and unstoppable smile refused to play along with his teasing. âCareful, Batman,â He teased as he playfully pointed a finger at Elisa. âYouâre adorableness canât save you from the wrath of the ineffably badass super villain Funny Face.â He teased, referencing an older conversation and knowing full well that as he is right now, heâd lose in a fight against almost all Campersâincluding Elisa.
When Elisa asked if he was all right, he shook his head embarrassedly as he laughed. âYeah, Iâm fine itâs justâŠ.â Chuckling he raised his head to the sun as he jokingly shook his fist. âThat damn ball of gasâŠnourishing plants, evaporating water thus helping the cycle of rain, providing vitamin D, and generally keeping us from freezing to deathâŠ.â Laughing lightly, he shook his head and smiled at Elisa before explaining, âI was sunburnt and became a bit of a shut-in. I think Iâm okay now thoughâŠjust a lot more careful about wearing sunscreen.â He joked, shaking his head and smiling at Elisa. âSo, what about you? You all right?â He asked eagerly, glad to be outside and though he usually didnât crave conversation, he was ready to interact with something other than a book, computer, iPod, aloe, or cooking utensils.
"Shhh!" Elisa took her index finger to Trevor's mouth as she softly smacked him, looking around as if someone could hear them. "They can't know!" A smile slowly trekked from the corner of her lips to her brown eyes before she bursted into a soft chuckle. "Although," Elisa narrowed her eyes and bit her lower lip. "I never thought Batman could have bat-adorableness for a main power," she wiggled her eyebrows. "I bet that can defeat awesomeness easily," the girl nudged Trevor gently and winked at him playfully. Since the last time they'd talked, she found out that fighting his compliments was useless as he always found a way to make her blush even brighter, so she just complimented him back.Â
She raised an eyebrow confused and overwhelmed by the whole scientific definition. She wasn't stupid. Elisa was actually smart and had done well during her school years, but hers was the cunning kind of smart. Science wasn't her strength, so she laughed when after a whole minute she understood Trevor talked about the sun and the incident with his clear skin. "You look good to me, though. Your cheeks look pink. As if you were wearing blush. That would be such a win if you were a girl," she said, meaning it to sound sad even if it was a joke. "Me?" She asked relaxed. "I'm..." she stopped herself. She hadn't even given herself sometime to think about that question. Was she okay? She was alive. Would that count? "I'm fine," she said, frowning lightly. "I wish this place was more active, and I wish I could see certain... people more often, but it's pretty much alright.
"I hate you." He mumbled to the sun as he glared at the too-bright camp. For days, his sunburn forced him to stay locked in his room and now that he finally was in contact with the outside world, it all but overwhelmed his senses. Still, he much preferred having a connection with the outside that wasnât aloe vera.
"Me?" Elisa exclaimed in an overacted way, spotting a known face and walking over. "I thought we had bonded, funny face," she pouted once she was right next to Trevor. Those three words didn't have such an effect on her coming from the guy's lips, she couldn't have done anything to think that way of her, but even between the jokes, some sort of doubt tightened up inside her. "All right, Trev?" Elisa asked, just in attempt to create a conversation. It had been a while since the last time she had one that lasted more than a couple courtesy phrases.
*smiles* Great! Where do these batches normally appear?
Downstairs. There's some sort of bar down there. I've been here for... well, I don't want to say a long while but something like that and I've never seen that cabinet empty. Have you taken the tour, yet? Of the cottage, I mean?
Without missing  beat Eloise got up from the counter, her bare thighs even more exposed than they were a minute ago, and got the whiskey from the cupboard âIâm game if you areâ she grinned, holding the bottle for the girl to see. Eloise as always up for drinking if she had good company, and sometimes even when she didnât. âTaking a note from the Irish hereâ she began poring the drink into their coffee, taking a sip of hers to see if it had enough of a kick.
"Blegh, Owen as in a serious rush to get where he was going!" she wrinkled her nose and laughed "Not the worst sex iâve had, but it doesnât even come close to the best" she laughed "Or even the âokay sexâ iâve had!" she laughed again. "Tyler is pretty good, so i suggest giving him a shot when and if heâs out and about, that is unless heâs set his sights on Ava already" she winked. Even though they were "together" Eloise could see he and Ava had issues and he was still smitten for her, and that was just fine, after all Eloise did love a bit of chaos. "Austin was probably one of the better people here. He definitely took his time, and thatâs always a plusâ she grinned into her coffee âBetween the two of us, weâre completely unstoppable!âÂ
Elisa sighed, keeping her mug close to her chest considering the idea of starting drinking. She had ran out of sleeping pills anyway. Drinking wouldn't mess with anything, and having a "relaxing" day would be more than nice. She needed to hang out with a girl or she was going to go mad. Gossiping, and just scheming and talking bad about people and good or bad fucks was all she needed that day and she didn't know that until Eloise offered her some whiskey. "Fine," she mumbled, stretching her arm for her to pour some in her mug. Tasting it, she cringed lightly feeling the burn of the booze go down her throat and into her stomach. It was relieving, actually.Â
"Tyler?" She raised an eyebrow. She'd never considered the guy as something or anything at all. If something a good friend, and honestly she doubted she could mess with someone else at that point. "I'll think about it, but I think I pass. He's way too pretty for my likes," she shrugged it off, sipping from her coffee, now without a face. It was so easy to get used to the burn that it was almost scary. "Yeah, Austin was... nice. I don't know about nice, though..." She narrowed her eyes. "Nothing can stop us... Well, I..." Elisa stopped, paying attention to the rush of thoughts inside her head. "Eloise," she sighed over-dramatically, propping her elbows on the table. "I'm deep in a big big mess inside my head. I might... I might be considering settling down."
Eloise laughed with the girl. Not a lot of people had such a cool reaction to her usual mindset and as far as she was concerned with Tyler he was just that, a good fuck. Yeah he was sweet, and romantic, and kind but he would never survive with Eloise. The only time he was even close to her level was when he was shit drunk and didnât remember what happened the next day - at least thatâs what he says anyway.
"Truer words have never been said!" she laughed again "And honestly thatâs really all theyâre useful for. That and reaching the top shelf" she smirked "Usually i fix my situation with more alcohol" she winked back at the girl "But sure why not? Anythingâs better then Ramen." She got herself a bowl and filled it with the dry cereal and ate it just like that, popping one at a time into her mouth and chewing. "Now what about you my dear? Any good fucks since you arrived" she grinned
Elisa bursted into laughter thinking about Tyler's height. And not just his, but also every single man in the house. Surely they could all be useful for that. And perhaps, that was the one and only reason she should use them for. "Hmm... alcohol," she said, pondering over the idea of drinking. It was past noon, sure it wasn't that bad, but no matter how much she loved the taste of some cocktails, she'd rather have them later in the day. Elisa wrinkled her nose and shook her head. "But spiked coffee doesn't sound half bad, to be honest," she admitting, bitting her lip.Â
"About me?" She asked, almost gasping for air not expecting the conversation to be addressed to her in that way. Elisa coughed a couple times, leaving her mug on the table, and running her fingers through her hair. "Uhm..." Elisa laughed nervously. "Well, yeah... A few..." She said, looking away and shrugging softly. "I feel bad for Owen's pride because he definitely wasn't the best," she mumbled, with her eyes fixed on her fingers tapping nervously on the counter. "And... the other two, well... One definitely stands out," she admitted, covering her face, embarrassed of her flustered cheeks. "And then..." Elisa continued, before breaking into laughter shaking her head. "I'm unstoppable. What can I say?"
"At least youâre around." Bryce slyly said, raising his glass towards her. "What is your poison tonight, Miss. Pratt?" Bryce said, pressing the rim to his lip, letting the whiskey go down hard.Â
"Must be your lucky day," Elisa said, raising an eyebrow and winking at him, the effect of the booze she'd drunk starting to kick off. "Hmm," she said, leaving her glass on the counter and tapped her chin pensively. "A lot of thinks can poison me, Mr. Belanger. What I'm drinking now, is the question you're looking for I think," Elisa chuckled, picking her glass up and raising it lightly in response to his own raised glass. "I'm a light drinker if I'm drinking solo. It was vodka with cranberry. I guess I can upgrade that now that I'm not on my own anymore, though."
