“Whenever you are offended by sin you breathe life into it.”
— Holy Spirit to me
“Jesus, I am broken and poor in many ways. Through Your Spirit, liberate me from my emotional baggage so I may be truly free, amen”
— Charles Stanley
“Your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.”
The presence of a battle does not mean the absence of God in the war.
Christine Caine
Genesis is an unbelievably repetitious book. It is easy to mix up names or situations. It is an index of all the sin that we are capable of too, over & over again. It is tiresome to read. I get frustrated at the people in these lessons the way I do at others first, & in reflection, at myself. I am no different than them in so many ways.
God’s promises remain. Grace upon grace upon grace. That’s right now.
REPENT, FOR THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS AT HAND
“From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

Not everyone can stay home to wait it out. Some have to keep working. Some have lost their jobs. Some have never had a home. Some will never go back.
Maybe things are “not that bad” for you. Maybe “this too shall pass”—in your world. But someone you know doesn’t have that luxury. Someone you know is permanently affected. They’re grieving a loss, whether it’s loss of their autonomy or a whole person. Our advice doesn’t apply to them, because it can’t. Stats and facts gloss over real loss.
Two in one-hundred doesn’t sound like a lot, but if any two people I knew had died this week, it would be absolutely devastating.
To downplay any grief and loss doesn’t help, and if you keep quoting statistics to show “it’s not that bad,” you’d be the last person I would go to for help.
No, we shouldn’t panic. But please don’t tell people it’s fine when they’re not.
The storm doesn’t always pass. Not for everyone. Pain can last for a lifetime. We can only hope to adjust to the new normal. By the grace of God, I will crawl down there with you.
— J.S.
As we move into more online communication, text can be easily misinterpreted. Add to that our stress level and we may fire off things we’d never say in person. Written words have unique power. That power includes pausing before hitting send. Read it out loud. Ask and don’t assume.
You're the worst kind of person.
I agree. The fact that God loves me is amazing. I can’t understand it. I’m wretched and broken and prideful and selfish. But He died for me? He gave His life for me? He paid such a high price for me? He wants to be in relationship with me?
I love Him so much. God is so good. He really is so, so good.
“Will this glorify Jesus?” -a question you need to ask yourself before doing anything
“You have turned my mourning into dancing; you have taken off my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, so that my soul may praise you and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks forever.”
— Psalm 30:11-12 NRSV
I’m convinced that waiting is one of the most difficult parts of life. However, we cannot forget all that God can do with us while we wait. Life doesn’t stop because we are in a season of waiting. Life doesn’t stop flowing. While we wait on God, we can also be proactive. In fact, we should. God responds to us when we get up and move! So, while you wait, seek out truth. Go love on people. Get out and make a positive difference for the Kingdom. Lead people to Christ. Travel to another country to spread the gospel. Be a light. Yes, life is always flowing… and your life has the power to make an impact even if you’re in a waiting season. Your light doesn’t stop shining just because you’re waiting! Do not sit and be idle. Allow God to use you in every season of life because that’s what He wants to do with you!
“Growth is simply learning how to suffer, gracefully, elegantly, constantly moving and traveling without letting your pain tear you apart.”
— Nikita Gill, Wild Embers (via mob-1967)
He calls you priceless. The God who made everything and knows everything about everything. He calls you priceless. There’s no end to the kindness in His heart for you. There’s no end to the love.
