Better Days || Terror
Eris was rather surprised when she finally heard back from him. She had tried to get a few messages his way, but hadn’t heard a single thing from him she hadn’t seen so much as an owl. She was thrilled when the message had arrived. It was just an address, but she knew it was from him. She knew that she wasn’t the only one stuck in this position. Neither of them wanted to stay out in the open, but they couldn’t entirely disappear altogether like some of their other classmates.
She kept her cloak up as she walked through the streets. They were a lot less packed due to the time of day, but she still didn’t want to risk running into someone undesirable and miss this chance. She wasn’t sure if she’d get another one and every second was precious to her. Eris quickened her steps as she neared the address green eyes flickering over her shoulder to make sure that nobody was following her, or paying too much attention to her. She could feel the paranoia boiling in her stomach with each step. It seemed like hours before she finally made it to the entrance of the club. She could hear the beat of the music through the door and the slightest smile appeared on her face as she realized that she was almost there. She quickly went through the motions of getting inside and was greeted with loud music and the smell of sweaty adolescents. Not her most favorite pair of things, but she would find away to get over it.
Her eyes moved wildly throughout the crowd as she anxiously looked for the familiar face. A glance of the usual blond hair just a little something. She finally pushed the hood of her cloak down to make it just as easy for him to find her. Though with his hair she figured he’d be easier to track down than her. She pushed through the crowds not really bothering to apologize, or excuse herself when she bumped into someone. She wasn’t in the mood for acting polite. That took way too much time that she may not be able to afford.
Her face lit up for the first time in a long time when she spotted the top of him. Tarryn. She’d recognize him anywhere. She moved quietly through the crowd until she was standing directly behind him. She tapped him on the shoulder and looked up at him with a smirk,”I’m looking for a friend of mine. He’s about yay high, blond, and always seems to have this look in his eyes that always makes you worried what he might be up to. Have you seen him?”
There was a rapping on the door that he surprisingly heard above the music; bless the Manis family for having so many buildings in Diagon. While Mendel's club was not the best choice for a meeting, Knockturn Alley had no qualms with moving out of the way for a brother of the Manis family-- now that evil was high, the black market was gaining more important; henceforth, so was Tarryn. Their family took no real side in the war despite Mendel's actions in the Polizei and Tarryn's sad agreement to be an honorary member of the force, so none would tread where they would reap. Not unless they were welcome.
The meeting was terrifying to a man like him, who had been working so hard in the past few weeks to keep his lips sealed about every detail. While he did not know what secrets were guarded behind a magical lock in his mind at the moment, he knew that the revealing of said things could be a potential danger to all those who escaped-- those he could nearly care for. Eris Langston represented not only a threat to them, but to himself, no matter how close they were. She was his one and only but she could easily become his demise if she so much as slipped up. Mendel constantly reminded him that this was his best friend they were speaking of but Tarryn couldn't shake the feeling that her father would one day interfere.
"Tarryn, Eris is outside." Mendel's voice was a sharp reminder of how the world had changed, considering the two didn't quite love each other. (Or rather, Tarryn's hatred was one sided.)
The remark was met with no response. The male turned out of the dark corner of the private lounge and stepped into the noisy club, where people were drugged and continuing to get fucked-- where the swine went to prepare for the death ahead of them. His hair wasn't as messy as it usually was when he woke up, but brushed to the side, as if he cared to make an appearance- his black and crimson suit helped add to his apparent care. The cut on his cheek couldn't be more noticeable. He became a mess since the last time Eris saw him, a bloodied, murdering, mess.
When her silken voice reached his ears, Tarryn turned his body, ignoring the fact that Mendel was a part of this meeting as well and would remain beside him until they moved back to the private room. His eyes became less intense when they spotted her but certainly not what she described; the once vibrant blue was now faded, as if life had been sucked out of him. "Darling, I fear you have the wrong man. I mean, I'm definitely similar to that description, but a lot hotter." Tarryn pulled her cloak back up on top of her head and held out his arm for her to take. "We need to move out of here. Not the best place to betray the Ministry, hm?"
He looked up at Mendel, who only rolled his eyes-- and yet, no smirk, no wink, came.
No response.
