reasons it’s okay to unfollow someone on tumblr:

they make you uncomfortable

they interact with someone you’re uncomfortable with

you’ve lost interest in their content

you want to.

reasons it’s okay to try and guilt people for unfollowing you:

there are none.

nobody has to follow you, they can stop at any point if that will make them more comfortable or their hobby more enjoyable. people do not owe you continuing to follow your blog or an explanation if they choose to stop for whatever personal reason they may have (especially if you’re only passing acquaintances but even if you’re friends). i could be sad and confused about someone unfollowing / soft-blocking me, and that doesn’t mean they’ve done anything wrong or owe me a reason to justify their choice. you’re never obliged to interact with me, and it would never be okay for me to coerce you into it. as a community we preach self care and treating people with respect but then try to interfere with or punish people for taking care of themselves.

feel free to reblog this if you don’t believe in making people feel obligated to follow you, and, you genuinely support people keeping their dashes comfortable and fun for themselves, even if that sometimes means not having you on it.

Cadance didn’t respond right away, instead gazing at the former queen with concern in her eyes. Though it’d only been a few weeks since the Empire’s return, things had been changing rapidly for all of them. The Princess sighed setting the box she’d been carrying aside on the table.

“I can only imagine what you must be feeling right now,” Her voice was soft, an undertone of sadness despite it’s empathetic nature. “None of this must be easy…If you’d ever want to talk, I’d be more than happy to listen…” here she chuckled with a shake of head as she looked around yet another unfamiliar room. “Who knows, maybe by then I’ll have found my way around this place.”

❝ I know. It’s just... hard. ❞

The crystal pony grew quiet once more, eyes diverting their gaze as she mulled over her thoughts in her head. She didn’t...hate Cadance per say, nor did she blame her for what had happened. Her hoof pawed at the ground before she lifted her head back up, settling her gaze back on the princess as she exhaled a sigh.

She bit her lower lip, her ears perking ever so slightly at the last comment as a small chuckle escaped her lips. There was really no need for the tension between the two.

“Mm, this place is quite the labyrinth. Truth be told, even I don’t think I know all the rooms myself,” she mustered another laugh before it dissolved into a nervous chuckle before she grew quiet once more. She rubbed her hoof against her cheek and sighed again. “Nopony else will talk about what happened, and while others may call me biased and a traitor, I’m more than happy to help where I can, Princess.”

She gave another pause, ears pulled back as she gingerly rubbed her face in frustration.

“...I tried, you know? I didn’t want to believe he was completely evil. I was in contact with the rebels, they asked me to kill him. I couldn’t. Nopony should ever be expected to spill blood. Ever.”

OOC. Wow. Uh, hey guys. It’s been... four months. I know I said I was going to come back after my vacation but like... I didn’t. I didn’t want to, I guess. Four months was enough time to let everything settle.

I’ve unblocked the two people who started the blaze and am fine if they wish the contact me. I really don’t care to be their friend anymore since they burnt the bridge themselves and I’m not wasting energy on it.

Hopefully I can get back into the swing of things again. I missed writing! Hello to new followers as well!
