catarina’s  ( and that’s catarina abate, legally, for the last ten years )  public image is heavily curated, and moderately well known—her public profile, even after the unfortunate  ‘ glitch ’  that occured a year ago that made aer lose their profile and with it, most of her followers stands at just shy of a 230,000 followers. as far as the public knows, the wealth frequently featured on catarina’s profile is gathered from half a decade spent as an influencer for high end brands, a history of well-paid sex work... and honestly, the presumption that ae is the heir of someone rich they wouldn’t recognise on the street.

sponsored posts are not uncommon, thought catarina avoids the more famous brands:  you’re more likely to find a post mentioning a commercial partnerships with a watch brand with 1k followers and a five-digit price tag than anything morphe or hugo boss is selling at the moment. an investigative soul may notice many of these brands are new, with extremely limited stock or have recently changed ownerships.

in 2019, catarina became a viral story for a short week when a fan put her face on a facial recognition app that matches people to old artwork, and got an eerily good match to a couple of paintings from different eras. the story definitely helped surge catarina’s follower count—the deletion happened a few months afterwards:  some have suggested this may have been instagram thinking ae was buying followers. catarina has yet to correct that speculation.

What are the slurs we should avoid, besides w*ore because I don't want to use them if they're harmful but I don't know what language is offensive?

hey there!! there’s a blog actually run by sex workers @hoetiquette, many of whom are poc swers, and they have a ton of information on there. this page specifically points out slurs.

when looking for terms to describe sex worker character/muses or whatnot, this page shows a ton of terms in the community. the main ones are prostitute, whore/hoe, slut, harlot, street walker, pimp, john, etc. there’s also a few that are only for trans women to reclaim. 

if you want to use a sex worker slur because it’s just a popular saying “ship whore” “i’m a slut for doritos” etc, there’s always a substitute. i like saying ship hoarder or ‘i’m a sucker for’ etc.
