I’m sorry to literally everyone but Steve is Barbie and Eddie is Ken
Steve canonically has held multiple jobs and social standings, and fanon has greatly expanded the Steve harrington job universe which I love, Steve has the perfect preppy look, Steve is a problem solver, a protector, a provider, he is Barbie
Eddie is literally just some fucking guy (affectionate) Eddie loves to scrap and would totally beach someone off without even needing to know what that means, he is the doting boyfriend who is always there (even when he should low key give Barbie some space)
Sero only ever plays his music when bakusquad are well into a smoke session. When everyone is a bit too blazed to care and no one ever says anything so he keeps doing it.
One day they are all piled into Denki’s beat up old van headed to the mall and he hands Sero the aux. He doesn’t think much of it, thats how it usually goes, who ever is riding shotgun gets aux. Usually it ends up being Kiri or Mina, with Bakugou playing the occasional rock band. Denki even though it is his car is banned from aux after he played nothing but the Wii theme song for 2 hours straight. Sero usually likes sitting in the back, watching his friends bicker and laugh together. Today though Bakugou made a fit about how Sero never gets to sit up front and everyone insisted even though he ensured them it was fine, he prefered it that way.
He thinks about it for a moment, but second guesses himself and puts on a peppy kpop song that Mina is obsessed with instead. Denki glances over at him confused, Kirishima lets out a audible “oh”, and pouts a bit. All of which is very odd, because everyone loves this song, they play it constantly. He is about to ask what’s wrong, but Bakugou physically snatches his phone out if his hands and pauses the music.
“What the fuck are you doing, weed for brains!” Bakugou glares at him “We don’t want to listen to this shit!”
“I am so confused, I thought you guys loved that song.”
“We do! But we, I don’t know, just thought that maybe…” Mina searches for the right words.
“It’s just not what we thought you would play if we gave you the aux.” Kiri chimes in.
“Dumbass! We don’t want to listen to what you think we want to listen to, we want to listen to what you want to listen to!”
“Yeah man, your music slaps and you like never play it” Denki agrees.
“Y-you guys like my music?” Sero feels the heat rising up his neck.
“YES!” All his friends shout in unision.
“Oh.” He tries to hide his smile. “Ok then.”
Sero takes his phone back from Bakugou, clicking on his favorite playlist. He looks back at his friends who all smile (besides Bakugou who just kind of huffs about it taking too long) as the Spanish lyrics flow through the speaker.
The rest of the trip is spent blasting Sero’s favorite songs from his childhood (Denki was quite fond of Gasolina) and from that day on his friends show a lot more interest in his heritage and he is happy to show them.
Imagine a modern college au where Eddie makes it to college and never shuts up about his best friend Chris and his babygirl Stevie. Naturally when Chrissy and Steve come visit him, his college friends think oh that Eddie’s girlfriend Stevie and his best friend Chris.
Except. They’re both hanging out in Eddie’s dorm with his roommate Argyle and his friend Gareth, they’re pretty cool, and the door slams open as Eddie rushes in. He basically screams STEVIEEE, hurls himself into his lap and starts smacking kisses all over his face.
Chrissy says to a gobsmacked Gareth, “This is gonna take a while, it usually takes Eddie about ten minutes to realize there are other people in the room with them,”
And Gareth is like, “You’re not Stevie, are you,”
Argyle from across the room says, “Woah, I wish my best friend was that excited to see me,”
You would never know that Kojiro has a beautiful singing voice. If you asked him to sing he would put on the worst performance imaginable and he makes a point to sing horribly off key if anyone is around. The only time he actually sings is when he is cooking and thinks he is alone. He sings the most beautiful Italian love songs and sounds like he should be a professional. Kaoru will sometimes hide, pretending to still be asleep so he can listen to the ballads and watch Joe at his most comfortable. Singing in his boyfriend’s kitchen while preparing breakfast for the man he loves.
Headcanon that Steve does not give a fuck if people think he and Robin are dating. Like obviously he tells Dustin and the group that its not gonna happen, they are platonic soulmates, ext. But when rumors go around the high school that they are dating, he says absolutely nothing to anybody. One day Robin asks him why he doesn’t just tell the pretty girl who just left that they aren’t dating and he just shrugs and says “If you wanna deny it go for it, but I’m not gonna take something away from you that inherently protects you from being outed. That is your decision to make, not mine. Besides, I’m sure it’s giving you major popularity points dating the Steve “The Hair” Harrington.” And that is the story if how Steve Harrington unintentionally became Robin’s beard.
Dustin whips around as soon as they’re alone. “Steve!”
“I’m Eddie.”
“No, I mean you and Steve. You like him.”
“Of course I like him, Henderson,” Eddie says flatly, pressing a little harder on the gas in hopes of getting to Dustin’s house before he admits something he regrets. “We’re friends. Best buds. A couple of dudes being bros.”
“You’re full of shit,” Dustin says. “I’m not stupid. I saw that. I wish I hadn’t, but I saw it. You’re, like, stupidly into him. I don’t know how I didn’t see it before.”
“Jesus Christ,” Eddie mutters. His street can’t come soon enough.
Dustin pushes through. “When are you gonna ask him out?”
“Uh, never?”
“What?!”
“Close your mouth, you’ll catch flies,” Eddie rolls his eyes. “Nothings going to happen, Henderson. Yeah, I’ve got a stupid fucking crush on your babysitter, it doesn’t mean that Steve’s interested in me. He likes girls, Dustin, did you miss that part in the dossier? He thinks we’re a couple of straight guys horsing around, if he found out I was flirting with him I could be thrown into Hunt the Freak 2: the thrilling sequel.”
Dustin’s mouth snaps shut, and he laughs nervously. “Right,” he agrees. “He likes girls. But, uh, hypothetically, if he was into guys…”
They roll to a stop sign, and Eddie turns away from the road to tell the little shit off. But Dustin’s fidgeting, staring steadfast at the road and refusing to meet his eye.
“You know something,” he realizes.
“Uh…”
Eddie’s about to shake it out of him. “You’re hiding something, you little shit. What is it? Tell me.”
“I’m not,” he squeaks.
“Bull-shit you aren’t. What is it? Is it about Steve?” Eddie pales. “Shit, does he know about me?”
“Well…”
“What the hell?!”
“I didn’t tell him!” Dustin yelps. “If you didn’t want him to know, maybe you shouldn’t have been so obvious!”
“Check your tone,” he snaps, hand shaking as he pulls on his hair. “Shit, shit, shit, okay, it’s fine, I just need to flee the country—“
“Why?”
Eddie is this close to throttling the kid. “What do you mean why?”
“Why is this such a big deal?”
“It could get me killed!” He shouts, banging a hand against the steering wheel. “He could—he could fucking tell somebody, and—“
“He wouldn’t do that!”
“How the fuck am I supposed to know that? You think someone’s a good guy until you’re interested in them, and then it’s all ‘You’re fucking disgusting,’ or ‘Freak,’ or ‘Don’t touch me, you fa—‘“
“Stop!” Dustin shouts, white knuckling the armrest. “Eddie, stop. He’s not going to tell anyone. It’s gonna be okay. It’s fine.”
“It’s not.”
“It’s fine,” Dustin stresses. “Steve doesn’t care if you’re gay. He definitely doesn’t mind you flirting with him.”
“You don’t know that,” Eddie says.
“Yeah I do.”
“How?”
There’s that deer in headlights look again. Then Dustin takes a deep breath, and his expression turns guilty.
“I know you’re not supposed to tell people this,” he says, “but you’re freaking out really bad and I’m, like, 99% sure Steve thinks you already know.”
“Steve thinks I know what?”
Dustin tells him.
Two hours later, he’s still laying on the floor in the trailer, looking up at the ceiling.
Bisexual. Steve Harrington, the man Eddie’s always hailed as the patron saint of heterosexuality, likes men.
Might like Eddie.
“Are you flirting with me?” Eddie blurts out, and immediately tries to bolt.
He runs face first into a wall and ends up on the ground, wishing the demobats had just killed him.
Steve appears in his line of vision, standing over his sprawled body. Eddie is treated to a wonderful view, eyes moving from his long, athletic legs to his crotch to his chest and broad shoulders, and finally reaches his face. His very amused face.
Eddie’s entire body lights on fire.
“What the hell was that?” Steve asks, laughing.
“Uh…”
“Wile E Coyote over here. Seriously, man, that was some Loony Toons shit. I’m embarrassed for you.”
“Oh my God, shut up,” he groans. “Just let me die.”
“No way in hell. Sorry, Munson, I put too much work into saving your flat ass to throw it away like that.” Steve grins, holding a hand out for Eddie to take. He ignores it, rolling over so Steve can’t see how red his face is.
“My ass isn’t flat,” he mumbles into the carpet.
“Oh, it is,” Steve says cheerfully, nudging said ass with his foot, because he’s a bastard. Eddie doesn’t know why he likes him so much. Everything he does is catastrophically bad for his continued survival. “It’s cute though. I like it.”
“Henderson said, uh, that you were…umm…maybeflirtingwithme?” Eddie finishes in a rush.
“What?”
Steve’s face is open, automatically tilting his right ear towards Eddie. Eddie doesn’t know if he’s aware that’s something he does. Robin says it’s because of all the concussions, his left ear just isn’t what it used to be.
Eddie sags, unable to lie to his wide-eyed confusion. “Dustin said you're flirting with me.”
Steve stares at him.
Eddie fidgets under his incredulous gaze, growing more anxious by the minute. Oh God, Dustin was wrong. Dustin was wrong about everything. Steve probably doesn’t even actually like boys, Jesus. The whole thing is obviously a bust. Eddie needs to cut and run, maybe make some bullshit excuse about his uncle needing him home even though Steve knows Wayne’s working right now—
