Dr. Katrine, or as she'd now come to be known as, Aphrodite, sat in a rocking chair in a backroom of the parlor. Pyg, despite his delusions and the horrid circumstances of how she'd come to be here, had worked tirelessly to make the room precisely the way she wanted it to be.
Said room had been styled with long flowing silk gilded around the windows and draped in a canopy over the big puffy bed, and everything was in various shades of green - her favorite color. That was the maddest thing of all; that despite all of this, she could tell he really, truly loved her.
And admittedly, he'd given her something much more important than just flashy material items and newfound beauty, as she gently rocked and rubbed her baby bump. She'd been trying to have a baby for years, to no avail, and now, here she was, a mother-to-be. Perhaps here wasn't so bad - at the very least, her life wasn't in danger. Her sanity perhaps, but not her life.
She hummed softly, looking out the window as she thought. Either way, she was content for now, and gilded cage or not, most of her thoughts were set upon her due date in November. She smiled at the mental image, her gaze turning towards the silken, lovingly crafted cradle beside the bed, a little plush pig tucked inside, and a cheerful mobile hung over it, still and waiting patiently for a baby to entertain.
