(i’m the person you recommended the comics too a little bit ago because i wanted some batcat content) i just finished reading the comics you suggested and i loved them all SO MUCH!! i really appreciate the recommendations because i would have been completely lost 💔. the last one i read was Batman: Hush which i loved so i was going to try to continue from that one with under the hood (i think that’s next but i’m not sure at all) So i wanted to ask if you had any suggestions for my next reads? they don’t HAVE to be super batcatty but im really loving batman comics!

i do NOT recommend reading under the red hood, it requires a lot more background info on whats happening timeline wise so jumping straight in is really confusing and imo had lead to a lot of misunderstandings of it.
if u want batfam from that era these might be good places to start. getting into a specific timeline can be a little confusing sometimes but i generally recommend jumping in and figuring it out as u go. u can always ask questions to blogs like mine if you’re confused. (not in any order
There isn’t really a clean place to start the Batman series, so generally just go back to something that looks interesting (beginning of an arc) and give it a try. the dc infinite app is helpful for this.
if u want to read under the red hood i would read at least
lonely place of dying (good context for tim)
under the red hood also directly mentions something that happens in nightwing (1996) 116-117 which is why holding off might help it make more sense.

catwoman: lonely city (elseworlds. not all my fav but and interesting batcat character study)
catwoman (1989) (must read selina backstory)
batman & robin: year one (sequal is also beginning to release this august if u enjoy)
oracle: year one (one shot, batman: chronicles #5)
this is assorted random reading recs not necessarily best practice to get into reading if you searched for guides im sure u could find something better
in terms of access finding a way to read online for relatively cheap like the dc infinite app is going to be ur best friend for this. do not spend big bucks on reading so early on
if u are confused feel free to ask me q’s further im really sorry i dont remember what i recced u already 😭😭 there r also other blogs that know that era by heart. dont be afraid to not know something but also be wary of accepting any one interpretation as fact. these characters r layered and all complicated n thats why theyre delightful
