New blog @porcelainbluejay is up and ready to go. Will be turning off asks/submissions/etc. and changing the blog title and description to reflect the move by Noon CST tomorrow.
Moving to @porcelainbluejay but it’ll be a bit before I fully make the switch.
fellas is it gay
I hate when non black people appropriate aave in general but goddamn the word I hate seeing y’all (but mainly white people) use most right now is “simp”. Y’all bastardized the fuck out of that word and I’m so fucking tired of seeing y’all use it.
Could you give us a source? I can't find this definition anywhere.
Would be appreciated ^^
There literally is no such thing as a “source” for aave, my dude. That doesn’t really exist. If black people tell you something is from their culture, you should believe it. We are literally experts on our own culture and our lived experiences are primary sources for info on our culture. You should be able to take us at our word. Also if you look through the notes you’ll get more info.
But yeah, get in the habit of just believing black people instead of being like “source?”, because white supremacy tries to wipe out our culture, meaning the only sources that exist and matter to tell others about our culture are us ourselves.
Y’all, there’s not even a dictionary for aave in existence so stop expecting us to have sources you think are respectable enough for this shit. You’re stuck with the responsibility of dealing with your unconscious bias until you learn how to be able to take us at our word on the topic.
Okay, the remake is going to happen some time within the next few days, I just have to figure out the logistics of it.
people with speech impediments, vocal stims, tics, stutters, an obvious accent, who are mute (to any degree), who talk to themselves, or who have any other noticeable vocal traits, you’re all really cool and wonderful and I’m wishing u all an epic and poggers night
more people who’re included in this post: anyone who’s voice doesn’t “match” their gender, or doesn’t “match” the gender they get read as, anyone with disorganized speech, people who use a lot of “filler words”, or anyone who has a lisp. I hope you’re all having another epic and poggers night
also shout out to anyone with flat or monotone speech, “too” quiet speech, or “too” loud speech. y’all are poggers and deserve an epic night too
