I just rewatched the entire Nolan Batman trilogy, and nothing has changed.

The first movie was really good and could have been great if Maggie Gyllenhaal had played Rachel in the first movie, not just in "The Dark Knight", because Katie Holmes was terrible.

"The Dark Knight" is still brilliant. Heath Ledger was terrifying and amazing. The best Batman movie ever because it is a gritty crime drama.

"The Dark Knight Rises" has some great stuff, and it is obvious which graphic novels were the inspiration for this movie, but it also has some serious weaknesses. I still don't buy Anne Hathaway as Selina. Michelle Pfeiffer and Selina from the animated series are way better ... Hell, even Lee Meriwether as a Golden Age DC version is better. Anne Hathaway is neither sultry nor sexy enough and tragically has absolutely no chemistry with Christian Bale and for Bat and Cat, that is inexcusable. Marion Cottilard was also a weird choice for Talia but worked better than Hathaway. The story was a bit of a mess and tried to combined too much. Trying to combined bits of three very brilliant storyline ("Knightfall" (that bit actually worked) " The Dark Knight Returns" by Frank Miller and on top "No Man's Land" was IMHO a bit too ambitious.

All in all though, I still love that trilogy. I know that Nolan made a ton with "The Odysee" but I think that is mainly because of inflation and inflated ticket prices. The Batman trilogy though made money because the movies were great.
