Something i don't see a lot of people talking about is buying and emptying expensive skin/hair products then returning for a full refund, I do this so often at sephora and ulta. literally so easy. you can also refill them with dollar store products or water if you want to make them seem full.
PSA please don’t do this. Lyfiñg from big cömpânïèş is one thing but imagine you actually spend your hard earned 💰on something and it ends up being a $1 product. The çömpäñy is still making money if they put the item back on the shelf and you’re basically just sțẽâļiñg from real people 🤷♀️
you could also be giving someone serious allergies etc if they’re using something w/o knowing what’s in it

HELLO I was just mid l!Ftying trip and I walked out the mall and go to my stop (VERY high because I hit the cart while walking) and this man goes uh excuse me oh I think you have a supermarket receipt taped to your “behind” but all I hear is behind and I’m wearing tight leggings and I see him look down at my butt so in my mind I’m like oh my god ew creep (keep in mind again I was very high and focused on eating my hotdog PLUS I somehow forgot it’s mid winter and I’m wearing a huge winter coat that covers my butt ) and then I go and look down and here’s right a big ass receipt is on my butt.

it says it can predict behavior before you even do anything, and the nature of it means it automatically becomes smarter the longer it runs. this CAN and WILL be your downfall - you need to make sure your sleight of hand is perfect, your area, your posture, your expression, your movement, EVERYTHING.

check YOUR local stores for any signs of Al being implemented; all i saw was a very obvious sticker on the window by the door advertising dr@g0nfrû¡†. YMMV.
re-assess your lifting habits - now more than ever, it is dangerous and feasible to get caught even with great technique. you don't need to lift out of necessity... but please be aware of your habits. are you doing this to self soothe? to avoid an emotion? this can become a real addiction, and you deserve forms of self care that don't threaten yourself. it can feel like fun and games, but this really is serious.
re-assess yourself - i hate to say it, but we know Al will have bias, and this affects some of us more than others, including POC and the disabled. if you are autistic or otherwise neurodivergent especially, your gait, posture and general movement could potentially flag the Al to watch you more. (anyone else remember the post about how LP watch for elbows on the shopping cart...?)
harm reduction - zero judgement if you continue, either for fun or for necessity; my heart seriously bleeds for those of you that rely on this to live. but you need to brush up on skills, REMEMBER YOUR RIGHTS, and try to not take things you know you don't need.
alternatives - obviously 🧬 is unaffected and it's business as usual, consider swapping methods either partially or entirely. for perishables, there's no harm in seeing if your local food pantry can take extra people (is it only near me where you have to sign up for it...!?)
i love each and every one of you and if companies weren't so fucking evil this would be a cool technology... but god we all know how shit the economy is. to tally a total and it's so much higher than it should be. many of us only have a taste of a form of proxy financial freedom though this and that can be invigorating, but if it's overconsumption, it isn't sustainable. i know that was a bunch of buzzwords back to back but it's true

Lifted at my job by stashing everything outside in the back only for it to get stolen by the homeless and to realize that the back of my store has 1000 billion cameras and caught me in 4K burying cat food cans under the damn snow.
You guys DO know that when you work retail it’s okay to be honest, right? You don’t NEED to lie and sell someone something. I work at a pet store. A man came to me asking for turkey neck powder because his son’s dog has a mass. My coworker went and showed the powder to him. At the checkout I immediately told I can’t let him buy this because not only will it not work but ignoring the mass is very dangerous, and the vet needs to be seen, and me letting him pay for this would essentially be scamming him. He left without it and was very grateful. You are NOT a robot at work, we are still humans!
