Calling someone out as a racist is a First Amendment right for everyone. Sometimes it just needs to be said, even to an employer. I was fired from a job 12 years ago because I was outspoken. It wasn't about racism, it was about politics. Being a Democrat is a bitch when you're surrounded by Right Wing crazies. This was a Union shop and the fucking Union did nothing for me. I was still in a period of time as an employee where I wasn't a full-fledged member. It takes 6 months of employment to be a member but still, according to the rules I still had a right to Representation if called on the carpet for any infraction. They said I wasn't productive. I filed for Unemployment and the Company appealed. I won the appeal because of a lack of credible evidence. I had a lawyer friend help me in the appeal and he said if I had the money I could have sued the Company for wrongful termination but I would have had to sit through years of litigation because this Company is big.
Thank you. Sorry that happened to you.
