Flashbacks of both Emily and Spencer hitting “Ali”.

Melissa’s confession to burying who she thought was Ali because she was trying to protect Spencer.

Bethany being dressed as Ali that night, including a bracelet. The letters between Ali and Bethany. We know who hit Ali though how did Bethany end up in the ground? Was that all Mona?

Why have Sara Harvey dressed in the “That Night” get up in the Dollhouse? Why have Mona dressed up that way in the Dollhouse?

Flashbacks of that night- why put so much emphasis on the Liars being drugged?

Dream and hallucination Ali telling different girls that they all know more about that night than the realize?

I would have to go back over the A messages, though am pretty sure there were more alluding to them doing something wrong that night.

I get that AD is different than A, and that this was supposed to be a totally separate storyline. I am just not happy with it at all, because they could have woven together a flowing story from start to finish. Those Patsy Cline songs were supposed to be so important and such a huge clue, and she addressed them by Charlotte giving an album to Alex saying they were important to her?

It is what it is. In my opinion, it could have been so much stronger. At the very least, I think the fans would have enjoyed this much more if Marlene hadn’t over promised, over shared, over anagramed, etc.

This ^^ is something I wish the writers gave better closure on. There were so many opportunities to make sense of these threats through the final reveal. For example, the vial of blood that wound up in Spencer’s bag when she was in London during an episode of 5B could have also been linked back to Alex, had the writers only spent a little time trying to make this reveal a little more impactful.

The liars are irrelevant characters in a show that is actually supposed to be about them. They don’t tie into the plot or the mystery. The show became CeCe’s. She stole the game and the story, just like she said to Mona. The entire mystery is about a character that’s been in 11 or 12 episodes and that the majority of the fandom did not care about. The girl in the grave is meaningless. That night is meaningless as the main characters are detached from this entire plot–the entire mystery. They were reduced to secondary characters whose main existence was reduced to their love lives. In the end they were not even allowed to solve the mystery. This is awful storytelling.

The show used to be all about the girl in the grave and the liars involvement in the events of this night. And this was taken away from them and us.

“The four of you combined, you remember more about that night than you think you do.” They literally knew nothing because they were asleep.

All this could have been fixed if CeCe had lied and Alex had been woven into the story from the start. We were promised an Uber A. Uber means above all… above all the other A’s. AD, Alex, should have been the one who has always been there… but her character, just like the liars, was overshadowed by CeCe. Alex only exists because of CeCe.

The CeCe reveal destroyed this entire show and it never recovered from it. Marlene loved her CeCe reveal and she didn’t want to “undo” it.

AD doesn’t deserve the title of “Uber A.” There is no Uber A. That was Marlene’s biggest lie.

We were lied to. We were dragged along. We were promised that the lady in black and Uber A are pll endgame. The lady in black was Sara Harvey–who used to be a stock photo. And we still don’t even know 80% of her story and we never will. And they told us that Uber A and AD are the same person. Well, Uber A didn’t arrive until 10 episodes ago… just like with Sara, we will never really get to know Alex. None of these reveals made sense, nor do they explain why these girls needed to be tortured.

We were dragged along for nothing just like the liars were tortured for nothing.

We were lied to.

One of the things that got me thinking someone had a twin (and that someone was Spencer) was the episode with a Wilden’s funeral, where we see Black a Widow. If memory serves, as we see her, the Digital Daggers song, “The Devil Within”, starts to play, and would have been perfect to play again as Alex explained how she was there for years:

Yes. Agree about the song. Black widow should have been a twin because it makes no sense for Sara Harvey to cover her face like that. No one knew who she was, she could have walked in there without a veil and no one would have recognized her. Same with the Ali wig. Red coat should have been a brunette. Why else would she need the Ali wig? Sara and CeCe had hair like Ali, there was no reason for them to wear a wig. It would have made sense for Alex to get both these roles. Black Widow’s figure resembled Troian’s. Marlene could have fixed this so easily in the last 10 eps, but instead she forced all those love triangles down our throats. Alex would have easily fit into past seasons. Such a wasted opportunity.

Dear PLL finale…

Please do show Bethany’s face and explain how relevant she is.

Please do mention the NAT club and which secrets they knew that got them killed.

Please do include loads of flashbacks explaining how Uber A influenced everything despite the ‘middle A’ Charlotte reveal.

Please do make the girls really deserve what they had to endure, all of them sharing equal responsibility.

Please be heartbreaking, mind-blowing, gut-wrenching.

The entire writers’ room thought a lot about this and part of it was actors’ availability. When you don’t own certain actors and they’re not series regulars, you never know if they’re going to be available to you. There were times when I loved the idea of Wren being A.D., Melissa being A.D., a combination of those two, but ultimately we never knew if we were going to get those people in these last 10 episodes and that sort of started discussion that A.D. really needs to be someone who’s a series regular and fans were always wanting it to be one of the girls … which makes no sense to me because they really would be torturing themselves — the mythology would never work. So that’s when we thought, well we love twins on this show and making it a twin of a PLL is sort of having your cake and getting to eat it too, so it’s almost a “pretty little liar.

Ok, I gotta be honest here..

I wil be majorly disappointed if

neither

A) the liars did something reaaally terrible to justify this A-game happening to them over and over again and it’s been about that all along

nor

B) one of them actually is A.D. for whatever reason which would at least explain how A always knew everything

Plus I want it all to make sense for the whole story.. like filling the gapes of ‘that night’

Tbh I wanna be heartbroken and shocked by the reveal. But I’m actually scared I’m gonna feel that exact way.. but because of disappointment 🙈

My Burning PLL Questions

I’m gonna list out all the questions I want answered - or answered better (more completely than they have been already) in the finale or by the story the finale tells us. There’s so much we’ll likely never get answers for, but I’m gonna list ‘em anyways. This is largely for me…but eh I’ll share it anyways. If we’re lucky, I’ll be able to answer them during the finale…or by simply remembering the answer - It’s likely I’ve forgotten some answers by now anyways.

I’ll add to this over the next day or so - right up until the finale. I hope that I don’t have to add more after =/

I think anything left unanswered - or seemingly unanswered - I’ll try and answer. A whole rewatch will probably be needed after TuesdAy anyways….

These are in no particular order, but it does seem to start out with the older questions first. This isn’t a comprehensive list - just the stuff I want to know or haven’t pieced together on my own. Feel free to send me more!

1. When Mona was A…was she truly the only A? Or was there always a “Big A” kicking around?

2. Why did Jenna seem to know Alison before even moving to Rosewood? She knew who she was in the costume shop…and at the memorial or whatever, Jenna said that “her whole life” she thought she knew Alison. That always seemed odd to me.

3. Who killed Garret Reynolds? I feel like it was probably Wilden. Then Melissa and Jason were meant to dispose of the body on the train - not knowing Aria was in there too. That’s why Jason had the hip wound.

4. Garret said medical records don’t lie…which records did he refer to? Was it to do with Melissa not being pregnant? Alison not being dead? Jenna not being blind? Spencer being adopted? We’ve never had a clear answer on this so we don’t really know how much Garret knew.

5. Was it actually Cece (Charles?) that drugged Emily at the start of the third season? This has never been revealed.

6. While Emily was drugged, she was found by Jenna and Noel. We get a hint later that they had some connection to Cece that night as well (the game of truth in Noel’s place). We found out this season that Noel and Jenna were working with Charlotte….so what were they up to that night? Was it actually them that drugged Emily and they weren’t so “lucky” finding Emily that night?

7. There was a short scene where Mona in her black hoodie was tailing Byron from his office at Hollis..but we never find out why she’s tailing him.

8. The whole Beach Hottie vs. Board Shorts debate needs to be settled. I’m still convinced it’s two different people. There’s several reasons, but mostly how Alison reacted to each of them. She was afraid of one but intrigued by the other. Was Wilden Hottie while Board Shorts is Ezra (Ezra being all but confirmed) ? There’s some hints to Wilden for sure - and he would definitely be enough to scare Alison if she thought she was pregnant. It would have been statutory rape…And I know it wasn’t real, but we do see Wilden in bed with Ali (it’s Dunhill in a mask..but hey, symbolism!).

9. Who did Alison fear had gotten her pregnant. I’m inclined to believe both Ian and Ezra that they never slept together, so who was she sleeping with? According to Mona, Alison wasn’t pregnant in the end, but she was damn sure she was… I’m putting my money on Wilden.

10. Once upon a time, when we were super suspicious of Jason, he was hiding someone in his house. We never found out who that was. I almost wonder, now, if it was Mary Drake? But who else could it be?

11. Around that time, they showed a dog sniffing around the house and A petting the dog. That was never explained either. Neither was the bloody tissues that Jason had…

12. We saw A rifle through a bag and pull out a bottle of pills that belonged to Maya,..but we never found out why? Especially since, according to the writers and all, Maya had NOTHING to do with A and was already dead at this point?

13. I’m still not convinced the story we were told about Maya’s death is true…but I suppose we’ll have to live with it. Bah.

14. What the hell did the NAT club have to do with anything? Was it just a really intricate red herring? Really? I find that hard to believe…

15. It seems clear that the Hastings/DiLaurentis feud is about more than just Jason, so what started it all?

16. Also, why did Mary seem the Hastings as someone who also needed to be punished?

17. Who is the father of the Emison baby? This I assume we actually will find out. Wren? Please don’t be Charles…

18. Why the hell was Sarah Harvey working for Charlotte?

19. Why was Sydney involved with this all?

20. Mona, in the woods at a picnic table, met up with Jenna and Sydney…and someone else. Who?

21. Did Mary really have more than two children? It seems that she did, based on lines delivered earlier in the season (Dr. Cochrane), but why wouldn’t she share that with Spencer now?

22. Why would Archer Dunhill shack up with Alison BEFORE Charlotte was killed…if we’re supposed to believe that his motive to torture Alison was because of Charlotte’s death? That doesn’t add up at all. Unless shacking up with Alison was the only way to get Charlotte back in on the family business?

23. Why would Archer Dunhill pretend to be Dr. Elliot Rollins in the first place? Something about getting close to Charlotte…so are we to assume that he knew her before this? I actually think this is exactly what happened. He knew her before she was discovered as A.

24. It is said that Cece taught Alison how to be..well…Alison (the Queen B we knew). But then Charlotte says that she was doing her best Ali impression - and evidently Alison was like that before Cece taught her..soo…what?

25. How could Cece have pretended to be Alison to be admitted to Radley IF SHE WAS ALREADY IN RADLEY!? We see in a flashback that Jessica was enraged by this little game…but if Cece (Charlotte) was a patient already, how could that have worked out?

26. This is super out of order here but…why was Alison crying when she left her house and went to the Hastings while Jason had a party (The scene where she goes “your family has the worst apples”)

27. Just…everything ever concerning Wren. I have questions upon questions. Why go after the 16 year old sister? Why continue to go after her? Why always show up with Spencer is upset? Why did his name have quotes around it on the police murder board? Why did Mona stop trusting him? Who did he call to “take care of their end?” Why colour that jacket in red? Why get a visitor pass for Cece Drake when she was a patient still? Why lie and say Melissa convinced him to let her in? What was he and Spencer arguing about in the airport? The questions are RELENTLESS.

28. Alison wanted masks made of her for her friends…A has them but the four girls don’t. What happened there?

29. Who was wearing the Emily mask?

30. So Jenna was scared of Cece Drake (as told by Shana) but totally okay working for/with her?

31. Who attacked Alison in “The First Halloween” !? It supposedly wasn’t Noel. I have a feeling this may have been Lucas? Maybe he was encouraged by his friend Charles to protect himself like Arcturus would. The comment of “Bitch” later may have been trying to spook her further?

32. The night Ali disappeared has had the timeline messed up a couple of times with different tellings of where Cece was during it. If the story we were told by Charlotte is to be believed, then she showed up at the end of the night and hit Alison by mistake…but before it was mentioned that she was speaking with Melissa Hastings. Jason’s eyes can’t be trusted, but who did he see Melissa talking to? Was it just Alison after all? Or maybe she was arguing with Bethany?

33. What was up with that meeting Melissa had with a hoodie in the backyard? Spencer read her lips as saying “do it” or something?

34. Why make Lesli Stone so suspicious? All the fake glasses and shit…

35. Why did the people at the Kahn party remember Cece? Noel’s brother knew her well apparently…but how? She was in Radley all that time and somehow I doubt she escaped that often?

36. Which reminds me. Cece said that Mona knew how to help her escape Radley. Mona says that she made a deal with the devil and she gave her ways in and out of Radley. Which is true?

37. Was it Charlotte that tried to kill Jenna in the DiLaurentis house?

38. Was Sarah Harvey a prisoner in the Dollhouse all those years and THEN signed up to help Charlotte? Otherwise, how had she been hiding for so long?

39. Early on we were told that A was a man and a woman with dark hair that wanted to hurt Alison? What? Was that actually Mona and Lucas? Still confused about that clue.

40. What did Maya want to show Emily the night she was killed? They found a note but that’s all that was mentioned of it…

I think I'm the only one NOT team Emison. I think Marlene just did that to satisfy fans because she wants to be liked so badly and she knows she screwed us all for the sudden switch in storylines. Ali has always gone after older men, but suddenly she's a lesbian? Come on, being bisexual myself, I can easily tell this girl wasn't meant to be linked to Emily romantically.

I’m not personally team Emison. I don’t ship anything on this show.

But even if I did, I don’t think I could ship Emison. Which is unfortunate I think, because the need for representation is there. I just wouldn’t pick them for a couple to romantically model. And that’s because I do not trust Ali’s motives. I never will I suppose.

Most people are really convinced that Ali has changed a lot, and that she regrets all of her bad choices, etc. I mean most people including Sasha and Marlene. So, unless she’s getting a reveal in the finale, I’m afraid that canonically she’s just grown into a broken and scared and regretful young woman. And you can’t say that she hasn’t been written to have character growth.

Ali has had a lot of conversations where she talks about regretting what she’s done, and finally embracing her true self, etc. So, yes… it’s there.

My problem is what wasn’t there. Mainly any type of detailed account of her time on the run. Like I’m not joking when I say that itself should’ve been a few episodes. If Ali is completely clear of any bad intentions then, why did they work so hard to make her seem not credible?

People love to get defensive about Ali about how she’s changed, and we need to let it go and forgive her, but I can’t because this whole thing started with Ali, and I built my entire understanding of this universe on “Alison DiLaurentis: Manipulative young girl who knows the value of a good lie.” And if this show ever really wanted me to let go of that distrust of Ali, they’d have given more than they gave.

I really never bring this stuff up unless asked, because I do get how and why people feel so strongly about them. And who am I to tell you what a good wlw ship looks like on TV, when there’s very few of them, and I don’t ship to start with.

But from my perspective, since I distrust Ali, and they’ve never shown us her having attraction to any other female… it does feel a bit forced. I can’t help but look at this relationship and default to thinking about old Ali and saying “But what if she’s just manipulating Emily.”

I’m 98% certain that I’m meant to believe their love is beautiful and genuine, and that’s how it will stay. But, literally until the credits roll on this finale I’ll be waiting for her to drop the mask. Probably even after.

Alison Clues by Episode - “Farewell, My Lovely”

I was unsure whether or not to include this because I don’t necessarily see it as an Ali is A clue, but it’s definitely weird enough. Why is Alison’s name stressed so many times in this scene? It’s so over the top and noticeable - you and Alison. Something about it caught my attention. And if Mary is so insistent on giving the Lost Woods to both of them, why was only Spencer invited to meet up with her? Why didn’t she ask Alison to come along too? I got the sense in this scene that Mary was trying to communicate something to Spencer, without coming right out and saying it.

Why is Emily dreaming about all of Alison’s various aliases? Vivian Darkbloom, Holly Varjak, someone named Emma Thorwald…why? That was such an unnecessary part of this scene. If anything, this proves to me that even Emily still has some subconscious doubts about Ali, if things like this are coming out in her dreams. She clearly doesn’t completely trust her, as much as she might want to believe she does.

Oh look, once again the board game is back in Alison’s house and no one saw how it got there. And Ali’s reaction to falling asleep is so strange. You were both lying on the couch, why wouldn’t you fall asleep? There’s nothing weird about that. I know there was an implied gas leak or something, but it’s striking to me that each time the board game is moved, it’s always either in or out of her own house.

How did A.D. even get a hold of this old video? The only people who we know had access to it are the NAT members (who are all either dead or irrelevant), Mona (who is clearly not A.D. at this point)…and Alison. And notice how completely unfazed she is by the sudden reappearance of this video that was taken when she was fifteen years old.

Wow, A.D. sure works fast. How in the world did they manage to overhear Mona’s confession, get the last puzzle pieces, and attach them to the car all in a matter of moments? It’s almost like they already knew who killed Charlotte…and who is the one other person who we know was in the bell tower that night?

I can’t take credit at all for this one, but it’s so good I had to include it. I saw it here on Tumblr and I can’t for the life of me remember who posted it, so if this point is yours, message me and I’ll edit immediately to credit you! But just take a look at the interesting connection between these two scenes…

This line from Spencer is pretty sappy…maybe a bit too sappy. Too obvious. If there’s one thing we should all know from watching this show, it’s that you can never really be sure of anything in Rosewood. And after Ali not promising to stick by her friends in 7x18, and how she doesn’t even meet Spencer’s eyes here when she says this line, I feel like there might be more to this.

Try again, sweaty. (This post may or may not contain spoilers, you've been warned.)

A.D.’s storyline definitely makes sense. “The whole storyline makes sense to me now. It’s like filling in the golden puzzle piece for sure. Fans will have the biggest, mind-blowing, exploding heads… it is the absolute bookend the show needed, it answers a lot of questions, it puts a lot of things into perspective, and it’s a great send-off.”

Toby will be in a scene with A.D during the finale. Remaining tight-lipped on this one, Keegan simply answered that he will share the screen with A.D. in the last episode.

And when asked about the Spencer’s twin theory, Keegan talked a lot about Toby and his beard. BuzzFeed: “We haven’t seen Toby since he slept with Spencer in the cabin, and now his phone is switched off. Is this because Toby actually slept with Spencer’s TWIN?” Keegan: “You know I’ve heard a lot of theories about this kind of stuff. I feel like at the end of everything, all these theories will be debunked, answered, and everyone will have what they want. I can tell you though, I was rocking a pretty sick beard during that scene – it was a real beard – and then in the finale I was going to have an even BIGGER beard but I had to shave it. I went through three-and-a-half hours of makeup to have a huge beard, and I went on the set and no one could take it seriously, because I looked like I was from Castaway… so we took it off. So in the finale, I don’t have a beard anymore, like I might get fired but the show is already off the air… um, I just told a big secret, I don’t have a beard anymore in the finale! Anyway, that was that.”

Just like Ezra’s stress stubble, Toby’s beard was symbolic of his grief and stress. “I remember really badly wanting to keep my beard for that scene in the cabin because I was like, ‘man, Toby’s really gone off the deep end, like his wife has died, I mean c’mon, he’s not gonna shave ever again!’ I can grow a beard within like three days. Like a FULL beard. I just squeeze my face and my pores shoot hairs out. A lot of people think Toby’s beard is A.D. and it’s gonna come off and be like ‘I’ve been here all along’. But that’s just a Tumblr thing.”

Even Keegan is unsure about Toby’s police training. “I feel like Toby decided to be a cop one night, around 8:30pm, logged onto his computer, went to RosewoodPD.com, printed off his diploma, went to work the next morning, and was a police officer. The only reason I think that was a reality was… the fact he’s such a BAD cop, he’s not a terrible person, he’s just a better carpenter you know? He’s a better carpenter than he is a cop, and he is an OK carpenter. I think that’s why he ultimately retired!”

Apparently Toby’s partner Lorenzo just moved on up in the police force. “Ahh Lorenzo…. Uh huh. So he became a detective in the beginning of Season 6, and I remember going into work and being like ‘hey man, why do you get to wear a suit?!’ and he’s like, ‘well I’m a detective now’, and I was like ‘what the hell man? I’ve been a cop for like three seasons why don’t I get to be a detective?’ So I think he just became a detective and he just worked his way up and he’s important now, he’s on like Lethal Weapon now or something!”

Toby’s experience with the drugged gummy bears ~probably~ got him “fired”. “He was high AF and ended up being like 'Where I am?’ and the police officers all around him were like, 'Dude you can’t be a police officer anymore, cause you’re high’. He was just lit, and then he got fired, pretty much,” Keegan joked.

And Toby wearing a du-rag in the earlier seasons was a complete accident. “That was actually a mistake that scene! My hair was really long and I had to look like I had a shaved head. And they put on the du-rag just to keep my hair down, and they were gonna take it off when I was about to shoot, and my hair would be slicked back and I’d look really dangerous and juvenile. But when we were shooting, Michael the director was like, 'OK we’re gonna shoot the rehearsal’, and I had the du-rag on, and I didn’t take it off, I was just in the middle of the scene. Then months had gone by, and the production editor showed Mandy (the wardrobe person), and she was like 'what the hell is this, why is the du-rag on his head?!’ and everyone was like 'what are you talking about? This has already been in production for months’ and she was like 'oh my god NO!’ It ended up staying in… It was nobody’s fault, just an accidental mess up!”

It was only during filming the finale that Keegan started to piece together what was going on, and he was definitely shocked by who killed Charlotte. “The truth is, I wasn’t really keeping the storyline straight. I couldn’t keep up. What ends up happening when we were shooting most of the time was that we’ll have the writer and you’d be like 'hey, what’s going on?’ and they’ll give you just snippets you need to know for your character, because there are so many storylines that your circuits would get crossed and you’d go crazy. Then if you dare, later you could go back and start to piece things together. But up until the finale I hadn’t been piecing anything together, then I started to when we were shooting the finale. I remember reading last week’s episode when there was all this info that was dumped on the audience. And me being part of the show I was like, 'wait, WHAT… Who killed Charlotte?!’ I was so enamoured by our show in that moment. Because you’re part of a show and you love doing it as much as people love watching it, but then you also get sucked into the fandom and canon of storytelling and get shocked by it.”

He even said there were some plot holes you could “literally drive a train through”, when asked about Detective Wilden covering up Marion Cavanaugh’s death. BuzzFeed: “Jessica DiLaurentis bribed Detective Wilden to cover up Toby’s mom’s death, after ~Bethany~ pushed her off the roof at Radley. According to our calculations Wilden would’ve been a young teen at the time, so there’s no way he could be a detective. Is that right?” Keegan: “I don’t know. That’s more a question for Marlene King. Because there are some plot points during the show that you could literally drive a train through… until the end of the show, that is. The finale will make so much sense to so many people, because they’re like, 'This show has plot holes the size of Swiss cheese!’ and like yeah, but it will make sense at the end. There’s something that happens and just collectively you’re like, 'oh shit that makes total sense now, of course!’ and that’s what will happen. Hopefully.”

And Keegan mentioned while he did get a laugh out of trolling his PLL fans, he’s been dropping clues this WHOLE time. “I love trolling the fans! But I also love placing little easter eggs, because there is sometimes truth to things I’m saying. When the show ends, I can go back and be like: 'I said this and nobody picked up on it!’ I’ve done interviews and I’ve totally divulged things but nobody picks up on it. Once the show ends I’ll do an entire investigation into my own past stuff that I’ve said and I’ll be like, 'haha, I told you guys!’.”

BTW, he loves memes. “I don’t really have friendships, they’re just direct message memes, so I love trolling fans (with memes). I think the sweaty thing, the misspelt sweetie meme, is my favourite thing ever. I kept doing it and fans were like 'you misspelt sweetie, what’s wrong with you!’ and 'I’m like, no, no that’s the meme guys!’.”

Alison Clues by Episode - “Farewell, My Lovely”

I was unsure whether or not to include this because I don’t necessarily see it as an Ali is A clue, but it’s definitely weird enough. Why is Alison’s name stressed so many times in this scene? It’s so over the top and noticeable - you and Alison. Something about it caught my attention. And if Mary is so insistent on giving the Lost Woods to both of them, why was only Spencer invited to meet up with her? Why didn’t she ask Alison to come along too? I got the sense in this scene that Mary was trying to communicate something to Spencer, without coming right out and saying it.

Why is Emily dreaming about all of Alison’s various aliases? Vivian Darkbloom, Holly Varjak, someone named Emma Thorwald…why? That was such an unnecessary part of this scene. If anything, this proves to me that even Emily still has some subconscious doubts about Ali, if things like this are coming out in her dreams. She clearly doesn’t completely trust her, as much as she might want to believe she does.

Oh look, once again the board game is back in Alison’s house and no one saw how it got there. And Ali’s reaction to falling asleep is so strange. You were both lying on the couch, why wouldn’t you fall asleep? There’s nothing weird about that. I know there was an implied gas leak or something, but it’s striking to me that each time the board game is moved, it’s always either in or out of her own house.

How did A.D. even get a hold of this old video? The only people who we know had access to it are the NAT members (who are all either dead or irrelevant), Mona (who is clearly not A.D. at this point)…and Alison. And notice how completely unfazed she is by the sudden reappearance of this video that was taken when she was fifteen years old.

Wow, A.D. sure works fast. How in the world did they manage to overhear Mona’s confession, get the last puzzle pieces, and attach them to the car all in a matter of moments? It’s almost like they already knew who killed Charlotte…and who is the one other person who we know was in the bell tower that night?

I can’t take credit at all for this one, but it’s so good I had to include it. I saw it here on Tumblr and I can’t for the life of me remember who posted it, so if this point is yours, message me and I’ll edit immediately to credit you! But just take a look at the interesting connection between these two scenes…

This line from Spencer is pretty sappy…maybe a bit too sappy. Too obvious. If there’s one thing we should all know from watching this show, it’s that you can never really be sure of anything in Rosewood. And after Ali not promising to stick by her friends in 7x18, and how she doesn’t even meet Spencer’s eyes here when she says this line, I feel like there might be more to this.

Final list of reasons why Bethany Young HAS to be important to the endgame in some way

Here are all my reasons why Bethany’s name just has to pop up in this final season. Not saying she’s AD (but she very well could be!) - but at absolute minimum, she is important to the story in some capacity.

1) Dr Cochran said that he delivered two of Mary’s babies - one went to Jessica (Charlotte), the other went to family county services (???) and Veronica confirmed that Spencer went to her. So, there is a third unknown child who grew up in Radley. Who do we know of that grew up in Radley? Bethany.

“Embrace your darkness. I had to. That’s how you win the game. - A.D” This just sounds like someone was forced to live in Radley and ‘put up with it’. They can cry about their life everyday, or they can soak up their circumstances and use it to, oh I dunno, play the A game. Bethany?

2) Dr Cochran referred to the second unknown baby as “underweight but tenacious” which is exactly the words that the writers chose for Toby to call Spencer. They were foreshadowing the similarities between the second baby (Bethany) and Spencer because Bethany is Spencer’s twin.

3) The Aunt Jessie incident. Mary wanted to be close to her daughter (Bethany). She pretended to be Jessica because Jessica was on the board of Radley and was allowed to sign out patients. Bethany started calling Mary “mum” which will blow Mary’s cover - she’s not supposed to be out of Radley - she’s pretending to be Jessica, after all. So, Mary demanded she call her “Aunt Jessie”.

4) Jessica told Mary that the Charles grave is real. This was a huge lie. Could this be why Bethany drew Jessica like this? Bethany thought her sister was dead. (No wonder Mary pretended to be Jessica by sleeping with Peter. She wanted to punish her sister.)

5) The only boy this could possibly be is Charles. So the fact that Bethany was drawing Charles being taken away from her (adopted by Jessica), means that the loss of Charles was important. It’ll make sense for Bethany to be A.D and wanting to avenge Charlotte’s death. The signs of Bethany being angry at the loss of Charlotte is in this picture.

6) What the hell?

Has this got anything to do with the fact that Bethany (a talented artist) never draws her face? Well, it’s tricky to answer because we’ve already seen her face: Troian’s face! She’s Spencer’s twin. Mary had ‘two Spencers’.

7) Charlotte called Wren to tell him that Melissa buried Bethany - what if that wasn’t Charlotte trying to break up Wren and Melissa, but instead, she was just trying to get justice for Bethany by ruining the life of the one who killed her (Melissa killed Bethany as she died from suffocation). This is again foreshadowing the strong connection between Charlotte and Bethany. (Assuming she is dead.)

8) If Bethany really is Spencer’s twin, that means the flashback on the roof with Marion wasn’t depicted properly. Since Charlotte is older than Spencer and therefore older than Spencer’s twin, Charlotte would’ve been older than Bethany. They weren’t the same age. Essentially, the error was NOT that Toby and Alison looked like teenagers when Marion was alive. The error was that Charlotte looked so young. She wasn’t that young.

9) Why would Sara Harvey care about sending letters to Bethany’s parents? This could be Bethany telling her parents that she is alive and well.

OR, maybe that was Sara Harvey, who, under orders from Charlotte, had to send Bethany’s parents flowers. That still highlights the important relationship Charlotte and Bethany had.

10) Was this Bethany in 420?

11) Did Spencer’s twin kill Yvonne? Did the twin provide poisonous those butterscotch biscuits that Yvonne was eating in 713? That could’ve been AD’s dangerous way of doing her sister a favour. “Oh c’mon sis, I know you love Toby. I was doing you a favour!”

12) Letters from A.D. Bethany and Alison DiLaurentis were sending each other letters - is this Bethany’s lair, and she kept Alison’s letters? Is this Bethany’s motive; that Alison lured her to Rosewood to kill her? It’s awfully suspicious that Uber A has a box titled “Letters from A.D.” in their own lair, since they ARE A.D! Well, maybe the letters are from Alison (to Bethany), rather than from Uber A.

The point of this post isn’t really to jump to conclusions; she may be dead, alive, A.D,, a helper, or just another one of Mary’s children. Point being that she is important in some way and I can’t wait to see how. I will be 100% disappointed in the endgame if her name is not even mentioned in some way. I’ll be sure to update this if I think of more reasons as to why she is important to the story!
