I could lie and say life has kept me hella busy which is why I haven’t logged in, but tbh, I deleted the tumblr app for mental health reasons. I was starting to go down a toxic road, and I refuse to let anyone send me back there for any reason.

So consider all the muses on indefinite hiatus. But not in the sense that I just don’t have them. In the sense that I’d only use them in kik or email.

That said, if anyone wants to stay in touch, I do have kik, and certain people have my email for rp purposes, and I’m down for anything through those two things.

I’m just done with tumblr and the majority of people on it.

Yes, that was a good way to describe it. A cute blubbering mess. She closed her eyes as Vol hugged her, wrapping her own arms around the girl. There was a time she thought she didn’t deserve happiness. She had hurt so may people. She wondered if Tolos was okay; she hadn’t seen him since their departure from the island. She had given him the secret to getting out safely and left the decision up to him. 

Elysia was being led into the kitchen, a soft smile tugging on her lips. Sweets were generally the key way into her heart and improving her mood. Vol picked up on that quite early back on the island. Instantly, her mouth was watering while she wiped her almost-shed tears using the back of her hand. “That looks orgasmic.” Yes, she was finding creative ways to explain Vol’s baking creations. Last week it had been ‘I’d go back to the Underworld for this’. Before that, it was ‘I’d kidnap you from Tryphon so you could make this for me everyday’. 

“Did I mention how much I frickin adore you?”

Volatilyn wasn’t quite sure what to believe for the remainder of her life. Things with Tryphon weren’t bad, but they weren’t necessarily good either. He had been busy with getting things settled down, and they didn’t have the instant movement that they once had through Elysia. She was happier, though, knowing her best friend was happy. She’d see Tryphon again, when he was ready and able to come to her. Until then, she’d gladly spend her time getting her things together and baking at random for Elysia.

“What do you think about me opening a bakery and tea shop combination? Do you think I could pass it off here? Would people be interested?” She mused, both to herself and Elysia. “Oh, but I don’t have the edge of that island giving me what I need to work with. I’ll have to start from scratch and build it up myself, won’t I?” That was more directed to herself than one for her friend.

She shook her head, and grabbed a knife to carefully slice a large piece for Elysia. “Only every other day. After tasting this, you might begin telling me hourly.” She teased as she passed the plate to her.

Just Breathe || Closed

Volatilyn had lost track of how much time had passed, but not how many times she had pressed play on the voicemail. His familiar tone had slithered around her, filling her walls with his rejection, thirty-three times. Her heart felt as if it had hit the floor, a delicate teacup that splintered apart the moment it made contact with the hardwood, irreparable damage done. The phone had chimed on occasion, signalling people were trying to contact her. Person. She knew who was rapidly sending texts, combining with the voicemail to bring her battery life plunging into the red. It was the same one who had barged into her house, swearing up a storm. 

She didn’t look up at Elysia as she entered her room, and hardly registered her words. Something about thinking the worst had happened. Hadn’t it? Without a single word, she reached over and hit the play button again. His voice filled the room.

Hey, Volatilyn-- we need to-- Well, I need to-- A sigh from him interrupted the speech he seemed to struggle with and it almost seemed like it was over, but then, impossibly, he continued. This was a mistake, wasn’t it? We’re not ready to get married just yet. We’re both so young. The way he made it sound, she wondered if she had inadvertently given him the wrong cues. That maybe she had suggested she wasn’t ready. Anyway, my plane’s loading now so-- I guess-- Yeah. Have a good life. 

The phone bleakly chimed at her once more before the screen went completely dark. Thirty-four times played, fifteen messages from Elysia, and just like that, it was over. She knew Elysia was still standing there, and her dark lashes shuttered away her sorrow drenched violet eyes to avoid seeing the confirmation that this wasn’t a nightmare.

I don’t even know where to start with this motherfucker, okay? For those of you who don’t know, this is my bae. My partner in crime. As in we’re in a committed relationship and it’s FUCKING WONDERFUL. This little shit head–let me tell you about this fucker. I was all “oh hey, I’m definitely an aromantic” and then Em (we’ll get to that asshole later) introduced Theo to the group chat on Skype. We got around to talking and doing horribly painful RP things, and then I don’t know what the fuck happened, but all of a sudden it was just like “surprise bitch, you have emotions for this one” and now we’re here.

That was a little off topic, but also not. Theo is just great okay? I just…there’s just really nothing else to say just because I’ll be reiterating the same point various sets of words. I have too many emotions.

Fucking Emily, okay. This asshole is forever labelled as “Maria Hill” in my phone because that was how we met. Her Maria Hill blog (class A shit, Maria is on her multi, hint hint). Emily has been there for, what? I think it’ll be three or four years come Christmas time. Fuck. I’ve had some hella shitty moments, and Emily was there just for me to rant/vent/cry at about so many things. Especially where school is concerned, Em gets it and just listens to my bullshit whining about everything.

This is Kitty. I’ve known Kitty for as long as I’ve known Em and I have zero fucking regrets. Kitty fucking slays me IC and OOC. I swear to god Kitty has the best fucking life stories, and the best comments about literally everything okay. You don’t even understand how great Kitty is. Fucking hell. The emotions I have over Natasha and Rayne aren’t something I can even begin to explain. Those two are some convoluted combination of tragic, ridiculous, cracked out, and lowkey cute as fuck.

Melissa. Let us talk about Melissa. She’s been part of life for about as long as I’ve been on Tumblr. I met Melissa when I was in 11th grade (along with other people) and I’m so fucking thankful for her. I swear to god I have never met a sweeter, more genuine human in my life. She’s just so great? Her appreciation of the little things, and just how much she cares about people is unparalleled and I’m so lucky to have her in my life. I take full responsibility for dragging her into the Tumblr world, but honestly that was because I’m fucking selfish and wanted her to enjoy this thing that I also enjoy, but also because I felt like people needed to witness this precious human okay. 

I just need her in my life forever okay. Best friend material.

Peter. Fucking Peter. He’s a class A pain in my ass and we still question how in the fuck we’re friends, but also I’m pretty sure neither of us is actually surprised that we get along so well, tbh. Every hangout session consists of us going at each other like an old married couple (and him yelling at me about comics I have yet to read because I’m trash).

He’s never going to let me live this down, but Peter is actually pretty great and my favourite thing about him is how he tells it like it is. Zero sugar-coating, and calling you out on your bullshit, but also not-so-secretly giving a shit about you and yelling at you when you’ve been up for 42 hours and haven’t eaten in 20.

For those of you who don’t know, Brodie is fucking phenomenal. We don’t talk a whole lot (fucking timezones), but I know that he’s always there. Like, I’m not afraid that one day he’s going to decide “bye bye Paige” just because, and that makes me smile. Brodie is a great human, and I love how easy it is to fall back into conversations and threads with him even after 10000000000000 years without a word to each other, you know?

I have this irrational fear that my favourite people are going to forget me or wake up one day and realize I’m a shitty human, but not Brodie. I know that I can always go scream about my emotions with Brodie and he’ll return the screaming at some point.

Okay, so this isn’t an RP blog (blasphemy, I know), but she means a lot to me. I met Christine at the same time I met Melissa, and decided that she was stuck with me for all eternity whether she wants to be or not. I’ve never really used the “best friend” label, but when it comes to Christine and Melissa I need to. It’s the only way to aptly convey what they mean to me and even then it doesn’t do them justice.

I always have so much fun when we get together (like our sexy Valentine’s weekend) and it’s always a sad time when I have to venture back here to Toronto because I’d love to spend so much more time with her.

Jim had spent the entire morning making these little arrangements – they were small, just barely fitting inside a mini glass jar. But with flowers that wouldn’t be sold, Jim refused to let them just wither and die; he’d done what he usually did, which was make something cute for his neighbor. After flipping the sign on his shop door – Out getting fresh flowers, be back soon! – before carrying a small tray of arrangements to Ren, smiling as he nudged the door with his hip.

Volatilyn was elbow deep in flour, at least that was what it felt like. She had spent the morning working on a new recipe for cookies to try out, and after deeming them fit for taste testing, decided to make more. When she heard the too familiar voice of her neighbor call out, she smiled to herself and wiped her hands on her apron. A smear of white powder decorated her forehead, and the parts of her dress not protected by the apron. 

“And to think I was just going to pack up a treat for you.” She greeted him with a grin, her violet eyes falling to the arrangements. “Oh these are amazing!”

Elysia felt lightning coursing through her veins. Zeus’ powers. They felt like home. She was still able to sense souls and pick up on thoughts. But it wasn’t as frequent… and never as loud. Her mind was silencing. Hades’ powers were fading. It would take time, but she was trudging through it with the help of her loved ones. 

Loved ones. People that cared about her. Parents that adored her and cherished her. It was a dream she didn’t want to wake up from and honestly, she would be caught more than once with a lump in her throat over it. 

It was happening again now. “No, I just –,” Elysia stammered; she rarely stammered. But she supposed love changed people. “Thank you… for everything. I was a total mess to deal with and that island, while it guided me to you and Gabriel, was an overall nightmare. But I just – am so happy you’re still here. I’m glad I can come visit whenever I want and talk to you. I’m just —” she choked on the word. “Happy.”  That’s what the emotion was. And it was drowning her. She didn’t know how to deal with it.

Oh fuck, the tears were coming. When did she become such a baby?

“Oh, Lys.” She closed the distance and grabbed her in a fierce hug. She wasn’t so good at explaining her feelings still, and she wasn’t so certain how long it’d be before she could do so. But Elysia meant everything to her, and that wouldn’t change. “You deserve to be happy. Even if it turns you into a cute blubbering mess.” She teased gently, releasing her to take her by the arm.

She led Elysia into the kitchen, and lifted the top off a cake dish, presenting her with the cake. “I meant to wait a bit longer, but it seems to me you could use chocolate, and a lot of it.” When she baked this, she had questioned if it was too much. Chocolate chips in the cake itself, layered with a rich chocolate frosting, and topped with a ganache that was to die for. It gave her a tooth ache just thinking about it.

Elysia didn’t normally display outright affection. She was clumsy with it in general. But ever since the deal was broken with Hades and she was beginning to allow herself to display physical forms of affection regularly without fear of the person being taken away, it was becoming easier. Gabriel and Volatilyn were, without a doubt, catalysts to destroying that fear.

Vol had stayed with her like an unwavering pillar. And so she found herself leaning towards her, lips brushing against her cheek softly in a lingering kiss before pulling back, a genuine smile on her lips.

Times were changing for the better. Volatilyn was free from her mother, never going back to Underland even if it had been home. Elysia had spent time helping her arrange and decorate her new studio to give her all the nostalgic vibes of her world, without the inhabitants that posed a threat. And it was a cause for celebration, if there ever was one-- especially considering Elysia was free from her own chains.

She prepared a chocolate cake that would make any human deathly ill feeling, and topped it with fresh raspberries from a garden she was working on. She planned on surprising Elysia with it as soon as the moment was right. When her lips touched her cheek, she made a quiet little noise of surprise and touched her fingers to where the sensation still lingered.

“You smelled the chocolate, didn’t you? And now you’re trying to coax me into giving it to you straight away by being sweet.”
