maybe a concept where you and mason have a fancy event to go to together, maybe like a team dinner, but itās one of those days where it feels like nothing is going right for youā you canāt get your hair to sit right, you had to redo part of your makeup like 4 times, your dress doesnāt wind up fitting/looking like you were hoping it was going toā and part of you wants to just throw your hands up in the air, give up, and declare that youāre not going. but you know this event is important for mason, do you canāt bring yourself to do that
so you go downstairs to meet him at the front door so you can leave, and heās just struck by how beautiful you look. like he truly canāt believe youāre his and his mouth nearly drops open in shock, but youāre too in your own head, feeling all of your insecurities at once, to even look up at him so you donāt notice. so you try to just breeze past him, barely even acknowledging him as you walk into the kitchen to retrieve something, and immediately he knows something is up
so he walks up to you, still facing away from him, and he takes your elbow ever so gently in his hand to turn you to look at him. and when he cradles your jaw in his hand, he can see that your eyes are shining with tears, your lower lip wobbling as you try your best to hold back the tears

āTalk to meā he whispered, his free hand cupping the other side of your face so he could wipe away your tears but no matter what you thought about saying you knew youād sound stupid. This was supposed to be Masons night but you were already in the worst mood possible.
āNothings going rightā you gulped, hoping you could keep your tears at by for now. āMy hairs a mess, my makeup looks shit and this dress is so uncomfortable. I just wanted to look nice for you, you know? I wanted to be someone you could be proud ofā you told him and you hated the way a look of hurt flashed in his eyes at your words.
āYou could show up in your pjās and Iād still be proud to have you on my armā he told you. Kissing your forehead gently before pulling back and giving you a once over as he held your hands.
āYou know, I love your hair like this. It reminds me of our first dateā he smile. His eyes crinkling at the sides as he reached out to play with one of your curls and you feel your face warm at the look of love so plainly displayed on his face. āAnd you look just as beautiful now as you did thenā

āI would neverā he told you seriously but there was still a hint of a smile on his lips. āI know nothing about make up but it looks perfect to me, I promiseā

āThere was a big bit tucked in the back, I think you just had it on wrongā he smiled and a wave of embarrassment flowed through you. Covering your eyes as Mason held your waist and you rested your arm on his shoulder.

āYou know, when I was getting dressed put both legs into one trouser holeā he told you quietly and you could help but giggle. āIt happens to the best of us gorgeousā
