“Just a few more stores and then we can get food. You promised you’d help me pick out an outfit for my date.”
Brandon looks at you from across the clothing rack full of overpriced and revealing crop tops. “Don’t you have girl friends to shop with?”
You knew he was teasing you as your roll your eyes at him. “None of them are as awesome as you. Plus you’re a guy, so if you like it, then I know Seth will.” You walk to Brandon and take his arm. “H&M is next on the list!”
Five minutes later both of you are at H&M looking at dresses. He stares at you while you decide between a floral red/white romper and a navy blue floral dress that shows a bit of skin on your midriff.
“Earth to Brandon?!” You throw a hat at him from a display near you. What are you thinking about?
“Oh nothing. I like the navy blue one.” He takes the floral romper and puts it back on the rack. “I think your green purse would match with that dress, and your white heels.”
You never realized how much Brandon paid attention at you. He knew the clothes you had in your closet, more than you. Leaning up at him to kiss his cheek, you thank him. Pulling him to the register, you can’t help but intertwine your fingers with his. They fit perfectly, causing a blush to appear on your cheeks and a smile on your face.
“$26.38 is the total. Cash or credit today?”
“Credit.” You swipe your card in the machine, sign your name, and take your bag.
The both of you walk out to the car, still hand in hand until Brandon opens your door for you.
“Thank you,” you smile at him, getting into his car.
He nods, closing the door and walking to the drivers side. He whispers “anything for you” to himself, before he gets in and starts the car. “In N Out sounds good?”
“Yeah! I’ll ha—”
“I already know what you want, you don’t need to tell me” he looks over at you, smiling as he pulls into the drive through.
“Do I look okay?” you walk into your living room, where all the guys were hanging out.
“Dayumm Y/N! If I didn’t think of you as a sister, I’d date you.” Nick hollers from the couch.
“Gorgeous as always!” Zion gushes, but looks at the revealed skin from the dress you’re wearing. “Y/N? What are those bruises from?” he asks concerned.
“Oh nothing!” you cover your hips quickly by folding your arms.
Brandon gets up and pulls your arms down. “How’d this happen?”
You shake your head looking away from him. You can’t lie to him, especially when you are looking in his dreamy brown eyes. “I fell.”
“On a baseball bat? That looks really bad Y/N” he places his hands on your hips, looking into your eyes. “Did Seth do this to you?”
You wipe your eyes quickly, staying silent.
“How long has this gone on?” Austin buts in, breaking the tension between you and Brandon.
“Since we first met….”
“Y/N that was a year ago…” Brandon’s voice quivers when he talks.
“I need to go..” You pull out of their grip and open the door to walk to Seth’s car as he pulls up.
“Hey babe.”
“Have you been crying?” Seth asks.
“No, just eyelash in my eyes made it water.” you quickly state, putting your seatbelt on.
He looks at your stomach that is revealed from your outfit. “Fuck Y/N! Why are you letting those bruises show? Do I need to make them in a place no one can see?” He slams his hands against the steering wheel.
Your eyes clench shut while he shouts, knowing what is going to happen tonight. Both of you sit silently the rest of the drive to dinner, and the first ten minutes of being seated at the table.
“I need to use the restroom.” You stand up to excuse yourself.
Seth makes a fist, waiting a few minutes before following you into the bathroom. “Babygirl?” he sweetly says, quietly walking into the stalls.
“Honey, I’ll be done in a minute.”
His hands grip your waist tightly and he slams you against the wall. “Fuck that, I do what I want whenever I want. Right now, I want to teach you that you shouldn’t wear clothes that make you look like a damn slut.”
You walk back to the table to finish dinner, without saying a word to him. You’re wearing his jacket, to hide the old bruises that are covered with the new ones. He pays the check and drags you out of the restaurant, into his car. It’s another quiet drive to your apartment.
“Thanks” you mumble as you quickly get out of the car, moving your key in the lock before he can get out of his car. You open the door and slam it shut, locking it behind you. Then you see all the guys in your living room still, watching you breathe unevenly.
“Hey guys! Make yourselves at home, I am just going to sleep.” You walk upstairs and take the outfit off, falling asleep in your sports bra and shorts.
You wake up to the smell of pancakes and bacon. Grabbing a hoodie to put over your sports bra, you walk down stairs to see Brandon cooking breakfast in the kitchen.
“Did everyone stay over?” you ask, walking up to him.
“Just me. I had to make sure you were alright.” He smiles at you, handing you a glass of orange juice and Advil. “In case you might be sore.”
“Thanks.” you take the medicine and drink your drink.
“Can I ask you something?” Brandon turns to you.
“Sure, go ahead.” You sit on the bar stool, watching him cook you breakfast.
“Why are you still with him, if he hurts you?”
You swallow before speaking. “He will hurt me more if I end it, then if I stay with him.”
He stops cooking the bacon and walks to you. “It breaks my heart to see you like this. No one should ever treat you like this. You deserve so much more than his stupid ass. I’m serious Y/N, you deserve a man who will treat you like the queen you are. Anything less, you don’t deserve him.”
You pull his shirt into you as you place your lips against his. You feel him kiss you back as the smell of burnt bacon fills the kitchen.
He pulls away, to tend to the burnt food before the smoke alarm goes off. His focus is still much on you. “What was that for?”
“You treat me like royalty. You’re the king I need.” You get chills under your hoodie, as you walk to him. “I see it now, you’re always going to be there for me. You always have been! I’ve just been so stupid and never realized the person who is perfect for me is you.” Pausing, you take a deep breath. “I just, you know what he will do to me if I break up with him.”
“Let me deal with him, and you rest your pretty self.” He looks down at you and plants a soft kiss on your lips.
We need to talk. Come over?
You press send to the message to Seth. Brandon and everyone else is with you. You’re going to stay with Zion, while B and the guys deal with Seth.
I don’t like that tone. I’ll fix that when I come over.
You read his reply, looking at Brandon for reassurance that everything will be fine.
“Baby, he won’t lay a finger on you again.” he kisses you as Zion grabs your arm.
“We should go Y/N.” You nod at him, looking at everyone.
“I owe you all for doing this. Please be safe.” You say as you give them all a hug, and a kiss to Brandon.
“OPEN UP BABYGIRL!” Seth bangs on the door.
Nick opens the door, pulling him into the house. “What the fuck is wrong with you?”
“Huh? Where’s my little slut?” He slurs his words, stumbling into the house.
“She isn’t yours anymore!” Austin steps in.
“Says who?”
“Her boyfriend” Brandon stands up.
“Like you can treat her better.” he scoffs at the guys surrounding him.
“A hungry tiger wouldn’t hurt her as much as you do.” Brandon mentions, punching the guy.
“Fuck you!” Seth punches back.
“Y/N is not a punching bag! You’ll never go near her again, understand?” Brandon punches him more until he goes unconscious. “Let’s get him out of here.”
Edwin calls the cops and they take him away. “She can come out now Z!” he yells.
She comes down the stairs, running to Brandon. “You’re bleeding!” She grabs a washcloth and dabs the blood off his lip. “I’m sorry he did this. Where is he now?”
“In jail.” Edwin says.
You look at Brandon. “He is?”
He nods, while he smiles at you. “I’m just glad you’re safe and can be mine.”

“Hon?” you shout while taking your key out of the lock on his front door, while taking one earbud out to listen for a response.
Silence--meaning he must be at the studio, he’s with the guys, or with the guys at the studio.
Setting your purse on the kitchen table, you look around at the piles of magazines and dirty dishes in the sink crying out for someone to clean them. You decide to take your mind off the hectic day you just experienced, pushing up your long sleeves to prep for washing those dishes.
After washing the dishes and putting them away, you tidy up the living room and fold that laundry sitting in the dryer---to prevent them from wrinkling even more.
You never do this, but today you just wanted to see your boyfriends face to cure you of the Tuesday blues. He’s been busy promoting new music and going to interviews all the time, you hardly see him. He wakes up before you and goes to bed much later than you. It’s hard to call him since he’s always being needed from everyone. You hate to make him even more needed, so you just hope going to his apartment could be a quick fix until you can see him---whenever that is.
The best way you know how to destress is watching re-runs of a show on Netflix and whip out that coloring book of Disney scenes. It’s mindless work and you enjoy seeing a blank white page turn into something colorful after it’s been colored. Singing in to your account, you put on Friends “The One Where No One Is Ready” as you pull out a coloring book.
Two episodes in, you begin to feel tired so you put the coloring book and pens down on the other end of the couch. Turning on your side, you continue to watch more episodes as you drift off into sleep.
“Sweetie I don’t know why you aren’t picking up. I came by to surprise you at home with a picnic on your roof but you weren’t there. Let me know when you get this. I’ll be at my place for the rest of the evening.” He hangs up while driving to his apartment in Downtown Hollywood.
A sigh of relief exits his body as he sees your car parked in a spot near his building. He rushes into the house with his picnic basket to see Chandler and Joey with a duck and chick--while you are fast asleep on the couch.
“I’m so glad you’re safe babe.” He whispers, leaning down to kiss your forehead. Turning off the tv he goes to the kitchen to make dinner for the two of you. He’d rather save the picnic for another day to be spontaneous. Noticing all the dishes are cleaned and put up, he turns back to you on the couch, smiling.

So I admit that I love watching The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, and Bachelor in Paradise. While I was watching the hometown dates episode this morning, I was inspired to write this short blurb. I hope you like it!

“How much longer is this episode?” Austin leans in to your hair, kissing the top of your head.
“BABE!” You playfully smack his cheek. “It’s showing Blake’s hometown date and you have to shut up!” The tone in your voice is serious, as you lean forward on the couch with head in your hands, elbows resting on your knees.
Austin shakes his head at you, while he looks down at his phone to open up Instagram. He swipes to the right, opening up the camera feature and scrolling until he finds live and presses the record button. The camera is focused on you and how into your show you are.
“Hey babe?” Austin quietly asks, big smile on his face.
“I love you but I need you to shut up.” You reply, still watching the television. “MY HEART! Blake is so fucking adorable.” An enormous smile appears on your face when a contestant is on the screen. You lean back and hold your heart as you fantasize over Blake.”
He turns the camera toward him and whispers, “I wish she’d be this excited to see me.”
“Oh my god Austin.” You grab a throw pillow and throw it at him. Your gaze never leaving the TV.
He sits there and giggles, watching the fans comment about you watching the show and how he’s a dork for recording you.
“Commercial break. Babe what is going on you have to talk that much?” You look over at him and see he’s cracking up while recording you. “Austin Dale Porter! You are so fucking dead!” You laugh and jump on him, reaching for the phone to turn off the live video. “I hate you for recording this!” you shout, half serious and half bursting with laughter.
“But you love me though,” Austin gushes. “Tell me you love me and I’ll turn it off babe.”
“I love you. Happy now?” Getting off your boyfriend, you go back to the TV to watch the show. “She has to pick Blake or I’ll like die!”
Austin turns the live video off and puts his phone down. “Should I be worried you’ll leave me for Blake if he doesn’t get picked?”
“Never ever honey. You’re stuck with me.” Winking at him, you plant a kiss on his lips and smile. “You have to try harder than that to get rid of me.”
“I never want to get rid of you.” Austin mumbles between kisses.
Your phone vibrates on the black wood surface of your nightstand while you brush your teeth in the bathroom. Looking down at your Apple Watch, you see the notification: new message from Brandon 🐝💛
You can’t help the smile that now appears over your face, as you finish your nightly routine. Opening the message, it has his address and a GIF of him winking. You reply back to his message, rolling your eyes as you type.

A giggle escapes your mouth as you see the boys looking tired as hell when you walk into the room with their Starbucks orders. “Late night boys?” Setting down your purse, you hand them each of their drinks.
“Someone wouldn’t get off the phone while I tried to sleep!” Nick glares over at Brandon.
“Shut up man. You woke up early as fuck to workout. Who does that?!” Brandon tells Nick, rolling his eyes.
Walking into the kitchen, you look at your phone. “Well, you guys get some food and get dressed, I’ll have the driver come in ten.”

“You needed my help?” leaning against the doorframe, you watch Brandon as he looks through his dresser drawers.
“That’s why I texted you, duh!” he takes your hand into his, pulling you to him. “What shirt would go with these jeans and white sneakers?”
He looks at you, while you filter through the hanging shirts in his closet. This boy did not need your help with his outfit. He’s got more of a fashion sense than you do. Deciding to play along with this game of his, you turn around holding a blue and white floral shirt. “I like this one, it matches the blue band around your boxers.” You push the shirt on his chest lightly, winking at him as you walk out of the room. Two can play this game you thought to yourself as you made your way downstairs.
Sitting on the side of the video set, you watch the guys relaxing while they aren’t being shot for the music video. You got through the radio interview, as Brandon sent flirty looks over at you the entire time when no one was looking. He really made the butterflies in your stomach take residence in you, because they haven’t left in the 36 hours you’ve met this man. You gracefully walk to Brandon who is laying down, grabbing your phone. “Good angle for a picture, right?” You smirk as you stand over him, while he yawns looking at the camera.
“Send that to me love.” His eyes are still locked on yours, and you hand your phone to him.
“You can do that, I’m getting called over to the set.” With that, you drop your phone on his chest, walking over to Zion who has paint splattered over him.
Brandon looks for the picture, sends it to himself. He bites his lip when he sees the emojis next to his name in your phone. Once he sends the picture, he posts it on his Instagram.

It’s now 6pm and you managed to get through the video shoot for part of their 10,000 Hours music video. During the break time, you went to take a nap and play with your Corgi puppy Theodore, which he goes by Theo. Opening the camera app, you send a picture to the group chat you have with the guys.
Me: Do you want Theo to come to the studio? (sends a picture)
Nick: Please bring him! He looks super sweet!
Brandon: YASS QUEEN, YASS!
Me: Alright, he’s coming.
Zion: Can you get some Taco Bell too?
Me: Of course. Send me the orders. It’s not my fault if Theo eats one of your items though.
Ten minutes later you walk in with Theo on his leash and two bags full of Taco Bell for the six of you. “Should you all be eating this while you record?”
“Probably not, but oh well.” Austin says with a mouth full of his taco.
“If you get me in trouble, Theo comes after you.” You glare at them, while eating your quesadilla.
“Whatever you say Kellie.” Brandon winks at you and says, while walking into the booth.
You sit back and chat with the guys about everything. You occasionally block them out to listen to Brandon sing. His voice is like an angel and you can’t help but get lost in him while he sings. You can tell he’s happiest when he sings. The amount of passion radiating through his voice is astonishing to you. He’s singing with more emotion than you’d have if you went to a wedding.
Standing as you shake their hands, you reply “Thank you so much! I’ll be there!”
Walking through the white interior offices at Capitol Records, unlocking your iPhone to call your mom while digging through your purse for your keys.
“I got the job!” you squeal with excitement. All you could talk about was working with musicians as their assistant. You were a secretary for Capitol Records for two years until they approached you for this new position to be the assistant for an upcoming boyband, PRETTYMUCH. You did as much research as you could to prepare for this interview, which you successfully put in the bag.
“I’m so proud of you sweetie! You’ll do great! Let me know how your first day goes tomorrow, alright?”
“Don’t worry mom, I will!”
“Love you darling!”
“Love you too mom!”
Pressing the red phone button on your screen, you end the call as you continue to drive down the 405 during rush hour. Instead of it taking you twenty minutes to get home, it’s become a fifty-minute drive all because there’s this minor car wreck and people slowed down to see what was going on. Road rage gets the best of you in this situation, as you honk and yell at other drivers. You seriously needed to use the bathroom and there wasn’t a place for you to get off the interstate, so being an aggressive and mad driver was the best option.
5:00am your phone begins to sound the alarm, “Burning Up” by The Jonas Brothers. The music grows louder and louder after every line. You press the snooze button on the gold iPhone, groaning while pulling the yellow comforter over your head. You fall asleep for ten more minutes, which really feels like one, until the song begins again.
You put on your waking up playlist and begin getting ready for the day. Medium blue washed jeans, gray Adidas slip-ons, and a red floral print blouse. Your hair is straightened, half up and half down, so your red earrings show through your blonde hair. You quickly grab your purse, keys and phone, along with your granola bar, and head out the door. You get to the label five minutes before you were supposed to be there, feeling excited yet nervous for this new adventure!
Walking into the building, you say a silent fast prayer that the boys are all nice and fun to get along with, and that this job is everything you hoped for. The elevator opens, and you see five boys sitting on the couches and chairs, playing table tennis in the lobby. A smile grows on your face as you walk into their managers office.
“It’s great to meet you Kellie! Have you met the boys yet?”
“Not formally, just a quick wave and smile as I walked in the building.”
“Let me introduce you to them.” He gets up and walks out to the lobby.
“Boys, I’d like for you to meet your new assistant, Kellie.”
“Nice to meet you all!” you can’t help but smile like a dork at them, especially at the guy in the glasses.
“That’s Zion, Nick, Austin, Brandon, and Edwin.” The manager points to each boy.
You thought to yourself as they all greeted you with hugs and handshakes. Brandon. His name is Brandon and he’s so fucking gorgeous. Why does he have to be so damn attractive?!
“I’ll let you all get to know each other, then I’ll let you know the schedule for the rest of the week.” With that the manager leaves back to his office.
“Do you need another player, so it’s a fair game?” You ask while setting your purse on the floor.
“Yes! You can be on our team!” Brandon quickly states, pulling you over to him and Edwin.
Edwin looks at you and whispers “We’re totally beating their asses!”
Zion shouts, “No you aren’t! Just serve and we will see who wins. Losers have to buy everyone’s lunch.”
“Thanks for the lunch boys,” you look over at Zion, Nick, and Austin. “It was really good guys!”
Brandon and Edwin can’t help but laugh at your comment, giving you high fives.
“I like you already. I can tell you’ll fit in really well with us!” Brandon mentions, before taking another bite of his tacos.
“Yeah, you’re super dope.” Nick says.
“I’ll be right back, just going to use the ladies room.” You excuse yourself and head towards the restrooms.
“Is it against the rules or whatever if someone dates her?” Brandon asks quietly.
“B is hardcore crushing right now,” Austin shouts and nudging his friend.
“I don’t think it is, just remember management might have a field day, along with our fans and the paparazzi,” Zion mentions.
“What’d I miss?” you ask while taking your seat again.
“Edwin was catching fries in his mouth with his eyes closed, well he tried to” Nick says, quickly changing the subject.
You finished getting all the guy’s numbers put into your phone, along with their managers number. While walking to the elevator, you look at the schedule you were given for the boys. There’s so many interviews and radio shows, promos and photoshoots, along with meeting fans and a few shows here and there. You look at the agenda for tomorrow, after pressing the G button, for the ground level to get to your car.
Schedule for PRETTYMUCH:
8am to 10:30am – breakfast/radio interview at KISS-FM Los Angeles
11am to 2pm – video shoot for “Summer On You”
2pm to 4pm – break
4pm to 9pm – studio time/recording new music
You smile to yourself as you get into your car, enjoying your first day at the new job. Pressing your mom’s name on your phone to call her as you drive home, you sit quietly and soak up everything that happened today.
“How was it sweetie?” your mom asks, while you hear faint noises in the background.
“Amazing. The guys are so nice and really fun to be around!” you reply, backing out of the parking spot.
“Are any of them cute?”
“MOM! You seriously didn’t just ask me that, did you?”
“Just answer the question Kellie!”
“They are all cute, but one of them really caught my eye.” You bite your lip as you think of him, driving down the interstate.
“What’s his name? I’ll look him up for you.”
“I already know what he looks like mom, I don’t think you understand that. Haha!”
“It’s for me, not you Kellie Bellie.”
“Ughh, I hate that nickname.”
“He’s really cute! Are you going to ask him out?”
“It’s my first day, I don’t think I would do that on day one. Plus, I don’t think I’m allowed to date someone who I work for. Hey mom, I actually will call you later, Brandon is calling me now. I love you!”
“OH GIRL!”
“Bye mom!” you hang up and answer the call.
“Kellie! I just wanted to ask if you wanted to meet at our house tomorrow, so we can all just ride together to the radio interview.” Brandon asks.
“Sure thing! Just text me your address.”
“Will do love. See you tomorrow.” Brandon says, hanging up the call shortly after.
Did he just call me love? Why am I feeling butterflies? It’s only been one day, I can’t be falling this much for a boy I just met… right?
