i love writing out numbers and then putting them in parentheses like "one (1)" even when i dont need to i think its funny
My favorite thing about Kermit the frog is how there are certain faces he makes where you can just imagine the position of the hand thatβs puppeting him. More so than with any of the other muppets, because I feel like heβs the one that has the least structure built into him, so itβs impacted by tiny little details of how the puppeteer is moving. And yet somehow that doesnβt make him any less real.

oh my god i almost forgot to tell you all about how, while my dad was visiting, i had an infestation of every single kind of bug in my house that hasn't been a problem before or since. like i'm not kidding i evicted so many creeping crawlies that week and couldn't for the life of me stop mosquitos from stealing my blood, but as soon as he left they vanished. and i mean, sure, there's a perfectly rational explanation, because two people make more mess than one and he has a habit of leaving the windows wide open enough to fly a jet engine through day and night, but i can't help but think how symbolically on the nose it was. the ancestral rot at the heart of my family so gothic it's got ants and flies buzzing around its decaying corpse.
hey so update but i haven't been harassed by a single freaky little beast since my dad left even after leaving some crumbs on the floor as an experiment to see if they attracted any ants so i think my dad might just be bugs actually

having anxiety is like being given permanent unwanted custody of a halter arabian. like okay buddy is it panic time again. cool you probably need more exercise and an apple and then maybe you'll calm down.
taking my stupid walks for my stupid mental health with my stupid hypervigilant brain horse
thoroughly enjoying the notes on this post because it's equal parts people with anxiety going "yeah that's what it's like" and people with arabians going "yeah that's what they're like"
idk if this is an usamerican thing or not but it always blows my mind as a small european country resident that yall have many names and types of apples???? what do you mean its not just red yellow or green??? why is it so complicated??? who is granny smith????
'whats your favorite apple' 'red' 'no i mean like what type' '??????' actual conversatiom i've had with a mutual from usa

Listen that doesnβt even account for all the weird shit local farmers are getting up to.
May I present the best apple:
the world is so big and beautiful
kill me for this but i love dr stratt. like yes she's an horrible person in a lot of occasions so what. girl saw that the sun was fucking dying and that no one was going to fix it and said " fine. I'll do it myself". committed multiple crimes and the most unethical shit ever. girlboss.
i see you and i raise you; stratt is absolutely not a horrible person. she maybe occasionally insensitive but gee golly, she is absolutely not horrible. sheβs a woman desperate to save her planet and absolutely ready to go to hell for it.
Okay consider. Stratt is a horrible person. If judging her based solely on her actions, yes she is a horrible person. What makes her special is she CHOSE that. She CHOSE to be horrible, because she knew her planet and everything on it mattered. She knew someone had to be the bad guy, and she loved everyone else enough to volunteer.
Project Hail Mary from Strattβs POV is a grueling road to ruin (end justifies the means & she has all the means) and the end of her arc is betraying her right-hand-man. 10/10 absolute lawful good villainous behavior. Wouldnβt change a thing.
No, no, even better! I would argue Stratt is not a villain at all, but is actually a co-hero. In that scene where they're talking about what everyone will do and how things will go after the Hail Mary launches, Stratt talks about the near certainty that she will end up in prison. The very people who gave her all this power WILL turn on her.
Stratt knows how people work, how politics work, and she knows from the jump that she is the scapegoat. She will do everything that needs to be done, already accepting that it will be her personal ruin.
That's a martyr character. That's a hero.
sometimes people experiencing psychosis and/or mania will come up to you on the street and talk in confusing or upsetting ways. your job is to either have a regular human-to-human conversation with that person or politely leave. your job is not to call 911. do not call 911. you might kill that person if you call 911.
I don't even have the energy to screenshot and respond to your tags- what the actual fuck is wrong with you? "the cops are scared and rightfully so" "mental health calls are the scariest for cops" OH so this isn't about the safety of psychotic & manic people this is about piggy feelings?
and no, actually, this is not USA specific and no, actually, people from other countries should not ignore this post. police violence and sanism weren't invented in the US and they are certainly not unique to here. if you (or anyone) thinks that this bullshit doesn't happen elsewhere then you are not listening.
cops r Some Guy with a Gun
do we want Some Guy with a Gun in this situation? answer is usually "NO"
This is legitimately useful reframing. A while ago I started replacing the word "cop" in my vocabulary with "a man with a gun." It really puts things into perspective.
This homeless person is making me uncomfortable. Should I call [a man with a gun]?
My neighbor is having a loud party. Should I get [a man with a gun] involved?
There are some teenagers skateboarding. Do you think [a man with a gun] would get rid of them for me?
It makes it very clear what you're saying. I can call a man with a gun to threaten or hurt someone mildly inconveniencing me. You're not calling the cops, you're calling A MAN WITH A GUN into a situation that does not warrant a firearm handled by a volatile lunatic who will not be held accountable for his actions.

Digital de-aging is bad not just because it always looks creepy as fuck no matter how much money they pour into it, but because it deprives me of getting to see the fucking black magic of a) the casting director somehow finding someone who looks unnervingly like the original actor despite not being related at all and b) the actors completely convincing me that they are, in fact, the same person at different times in their life.
And occasionally, the amusement of sticking a bad wig and some makeup on the original actor and just demanding we accept they're a teenager now.
It's both this:
And also this:
I love them both, your honour.
you solve the mystery of what to have for dinner one night and you think "hell yeah case closed forever" WRONG there is a dinner mystery the next night too
Maybe I can convince y'all to act right by framing things in terms of social engineering. People will be a whole lot more likely to do whatever shit you're trying to hector them into doing if you're not constantly being a dick the whole time. Being niceys is a powerful social engineering tool such as all of the times I have maliciously manipulated people into fulfilling my whims using an evil sociopathic manipulation technique i like to call "asking nice and then saying thanks after"
Forever mourning that I can't simply require all students who attempt to plagiarize assignments to watch the four-hour-long hbomberguy Somerton video and then write me a one-page reaction on it, as penance. I think four hours of 'this is what plagiarism does and also how respectable people think about it' would be good for them.
I know this trophy is supposed to represent a triathlon, but it looks like a cyclist award for attacking pedestrians
