P.R.I.D.E. Portraits Official Project Launch at West Studios

The official launch of the P.R.I.D.E. Portraits Project by Eric Edward Schell was held on August 20 at West Studios.

Houston is a very diverse city but diversity is simply a descriptive term. We must also work to be a very inclusive city. Just because you don’t look the way I look or love the way I love does not make you any better or worse than anyone else. We are a holistic society and part of that is recognizing every member of the family, including the LGBTQ+ community.

Houston Photographer Launches 'Pride Portraits' Series

On Wednesday, June 29, a free photoshoot will be held for “Pride Portraits,” an event by Eric Edward Schell Photography.

Before the project even launched, Eric was featured in Houston’s “Out Smart Magazine” on June 29th, 2016.

Orlando shooting inspires Houston photographer to create 'Pride Portraits'

In the wake of the mass shooting in Orlando this past June, photographer Eric Schell "was at a loss for words, feelings and an understanding as to why we as a community are sometimes treated like non-humans." In response, Schell created a project titled "P.R.I.D.E. Portraits: Photographs Representing Individuals Deserving Equality".

Eric’s project, the ‘Pride Portraits’ was featured in a “glaad” article on September 14th, 2016.

Eric Edward Schell is a photographer based in Houston, Texas. He received formal education from Houston Center for Photography. Since the creation of Eric Edward Schell Photography, he’s made it his artistic goal to always capture his subjects’ true essence and create thought-provoking images. He is versed in portrait photography but has varied experience with actor headshots, corporate headshots, events, children, pets, weddings, and archival theatre photography. Eric has donated his time photographically to give back to the LGBTQ+ community via charities, organizations and causes that he respects and believes in. He is the founder P.R.I.D.E. Portraits.
